I've seen this line of

I've seen this line of thinking frequently on message boards; that famous football players must have easy access to sex on demand.

I'm concerned that perhaps this idea could lead to players feeling entitled to sex, leading to sexual assault. Not commenting on Winston in particular just overall attitudes.

I'm an OSU fan so I suppose

I'm an OSU fan so I suppose I'm not an impartial observer, but . . .

Sparty beat you guys, split with Wisconsin, and was generally the most fun B1G team this year. They're rightfully the conference's best team. It was a travesty that Michigan got into the Sugar Bowl in the first place (and a bigger one that your opponent was VaTech and not Boise). Sparty was ultimately punished for losing a close one in the championship game because of a roughing the punter penalty, playing against a team Michigan never faced.

Now that I've offended you, my rankings:

1. MSU

2a. Michigan

2b. Wisconsin

.

.

12. Everyone else. Especially Ohio State. I've never sworn more at my television than in the fall of 2011.  The rest of the Big Ten teams were all capable of being positively terrible on any given day, even if some could occasionally pull a big win out of a hat.

Big Ten bowl wins were over Western Michigan, UCLA, VaTech and Georgia. Not exactly world beaters.  I'm happy that Michigan won the Sugar Bowl. I'm not happy that the game was played in a not-nearly-full stadium and I'm not surprised that an ACC team lost a BCS bowl.  It's not exactly a big prestige win for the conference.  There is a real sad state of affairs in the B1G right now, although there is hope for improvement with a resurgent Michigan, hopefully a rebuilt Ohio State in a couple years, Sparty playing better than average, Wisconsin usually solid and Nebraska no longer quarterbacked by Taylor Martinez.  I think we'll improve.

If Ohio State beats Michigan

If Ohio State beats Michigan this year, I will smile contentedly.  Seriously, beating you guys is like beating Northwestern now.

They do, or at least mine

They do, or at least mine did. I comprehend the things I read just fine, and the SAT agrees.

All I'm saying is that bragging about Pryor's shitty stats against Michigan doesn't help anything. Dude, just look at the scoreboard. Another mgo-user said it best when he commented on Tressel's playcalling: "It's like being in a dick measuring contest with John Holmes. He's only going to pull out as much as he needs to beat you." Tressel didn't need to pull too much out against UM the last couple of years, so saying that Pryor sucks because of these stats is bad reasoning.

But what's worse reasoning is the idea that a crappy practice has dire implications for OSU this fall. You don't know what the coaches were having him work on, or any of the other reasons why he may have sucked in the scrimmage. The fact is that practice performance, especially in the spring, means nothing for in-game performance. Remember the "Weapon of Choice" video for Forcier last year? Yeah, how'd that impressive spring play translate in real games? That's okay though, there's always next year and I guess you guys have Denard to waste your optimism on this year. See you in Columbus, Wolverines!

What, prithee, does blood

What, prithee, does blood pressure have to do with politics?

Every school has had it's

Every school has had it's issues with player behavior, so I don't think it's fair to say OSU is light on discipline. But what I really take issue with is the idea that Ohio State fans are somehow bigger homers than the fans at other schools. Dude, we're not. Everybody loves their team, and there are a lot of OSU fans in Ohio. Why are you surprised that we wear our scarlet and grey to pro games? Why are you surprised that we like our coach? Strangely, I have found criticism of Tressel to be much more acceptable among OSU fans than criticism of RichRod has been in UM circles. Seems like you guys flame anyone who does not accept RR as their personal lord and savior. OSU fans spend their season chatting about Tressel's deficiencies, while you guys defend RR in the face of another losing season.

My point is not to defame Michigan. I hope you guys get up to snuff so we can have a real rivalry again. My point is that OSU fans are not "utterly in the dark." We are a deeply involved and committed fan base, and you shouldn't be put off when we wear our OSU gear to pro games. Remember, no matter how good a pro team from Ohio is, Ohio State is first in our hearts. I think that is admirable.

OSU didn't have room for a

OSU didn't have room for a big recruiting class this year, but they filled some needs and still have a shot at some major talent like Henderson (especially if Sunshine Pete heads to Seattle).

Dude, I wasn't even the guy

Dude, I wasn't even the guy you were arguing with earlier. I merely read your posts, disagreed with everything you said, and noticed that you like to throw around insults about grammar and yet don't know the difference between "you're" and "your".

I never insulted you. I am not a troll. Now stop with the hating on everyone and relax.

"If you're point is Pryor is

"If you're point is Pryor is no Vince Young, the best mobile college quarterback in college, ever, well, duh." - M-Wolverine

How about you learn the difference between "your" (possessive pronoun) and "you're" (contraction for "you are") before you shoot YOUR mouth off, Mr. Grammar Nazi.

This is not a big deal

This isn't a new injury and he'll be feeling better than he was at the end of the year. Pryor got hurt in the NMSU game, and while he seems to maybe have lost a step, he's fine and can play through some pain.

Why? If that were Ezeh's

Why? If that were Ezeh's dad, UM would have a 3-time All-American at MLB.

And if Michigan can schedule

And if Michigan can schedule Delaware State, the second best 1-AA program in the State of Delaware!

It is not true that OSX

It is not true that OSX updates are equivalent to Service Packs. I've used OSX since its inception, and the user experience and functionality has advanced to a great degree with every update (possibly with the exception of Snow Leopard, which cost $50 for 5 licenses, and has tons of behind the scenes changes).

No Windows Service Pack included the kind of aesthetic and functional improvements that the OSX updates have . . . I'm talking about things like Spotlight, Expose, Dashboard, Time Machine, Boot Camp, Cover Flow, and the list goes on. The reason Windows has seemed so far behind is their failure to implement any similar features until Vista.

Citing one valid example is

Citing one valid example is not going overboard.

My point is that Pryor can

My point is that Pryor can make plays all over the field, and isn't the kind of player who will either throw or get sacked like Boeckman was. He was a game manager last year. Will you really be surprised to see Tressel use him differently this year?

Who caught that TD pass late

Who caught that TD pass late in the UT game again?

Really OT. Please forgive me for this.

You signature. It really bothers me. Mainly because I didn't get into a good college (currently, I am spinning my wheels at U. Nevada). I promise you, I'm talented enough to have been accepted at UM or most other schools, but I had a lot of problems in high school. I didn't have the grades or the demeanor to get in to a good college. It doesn't mean I suck.

Maybe I'm missing something. Maybe I'm entirely wrongheaded. But it seems to me if you are going to bash the educational options of other people, you should at least form proper sentences.

"If you didn't get into college, and you really, really SUCK, if you didn't get into college, go to State."

This is not a sentence.

No public university is as well regarded as UM. Does that mean you need to sh*t all over other public schools (with poor grammar at that)? This is why people are biased against UM. There is a deeper-seeded hatred that extends beyond the in-the-stadium douche-baggery of OSU fans. UM grads tend to be pricks when it comes to the quality of their education. Just look at how Mike Wallace sounds in his interview for the OSU-UM HBO special.

I would have written this in a private message if I had the opportunity. I don't want to sound bitter (although, maybe I am a little). I just feel like wearing your degree like a badge of honor doesn't inform anyone as to the quality of your character, or to your talents and abilities.

End OT.

This whole "Boren=fat+lazy"

This whole "Boren=fat+lazy" thing is really getting old. The guy is a good lineman. OSU is certainly thrilled to have him. He started for you and will start for them. Him transferring was not about participating in workouts or being lazy. It was personal.

For whatever reason, Boren didn't get on with RichRod and his staff. Maybe because they didn't offer little brother (not that Little Brother). Regardless, Boren is a capable and talented guard who will almost certainly get to the NFL. He isn't lazy or fat or a waste of space on the roster.

It was a dick move of him to make his statements about family values. A classy guy would have said that he thought the right move was for him to go elsewhere, and then shut his mouth. But at the same time his mouth doesn't affect his ability as an athlete.

It's not because these

It's not because these players were from Michigan.

What other team has had so many players leave in such a dramatic fashion? I don't really blame RR or anyone else at UM, but there have been a ton of defections in the past year. Seriously, Justin Boren went to Ohio State and trashed Rich Rod on the way out. Every college football writer in the country creamed him or herself when they heard that.

I don't think you can really chalk this up to anti-Michigan bias. These are just big stories at a time when there is not much to report. After a couple of years, when all UM players were recruited by Rodriguez, things like this won't happen anymore. And ESPN won't seem so biased.

It's really great to see

It's really great to see Nevada getting some hype these days. I'm a student there, and I've always found it disheartening that we can't manage more than about 17K fans at games. Maybe, just maybe, if we can finally knock off BSU (last game on the blue turf went to 4 OTs, game tying TD was dropped at the last second last year), UN will get some support from our community.

I think that we'll surprise some people this year. You can't have an offense as good as ours and fly under the radar.

And really, if OSU used a complete pistol offense they would be world-beaters. Pryor is like Nevada's QB, only stronger, faster and much more talented. Add that to their steady stream of great RBs and receivers, and their talented (yet poorly coached) OL, and you have the makings of a really great offense. Unfortunately for the Buckeyes, offensive ineptitude is the norm on their coaching staff. They need a Chris Ault, who is BTW a really nice guy. Met him and his wife at the airport once. He couldn't have been more gracious and kind.

Anyway, sorry for the rant from the lone Nevada fan on the internet. Mark that game with ND on your calendars. You just might like the results.

Oh man, my OSU matroshka was

Oh man, my OSU matroshka was the best find I've ever had. Walking around Moscow, I out of the corner of my eye spied Scarlet and Grey at a vendor's stand. I was totally shocked to see someone selling nesting dolls with just about every major team available. A few rubles for T. Smith, Ted Ginn, Anthony Gonzales, Beanie and Antonio Pittman was well worth it. Among the best purchases I ever made!

Geography makes a difference

I think the rules might be a little different outside of Big Ten country. I'm a Buckeye fan, and have lived in Reno, NV for a number of years. When I see a person in a shirt from a Big Ten school, I always try to strike up a conversation that may or may not begin with a little friendly ribbing. I always want to talk to Big Ten fans because people here just don't understand what big-time CFB is all about. If a conversation starts with a comment like "You guys gonna show up in November this year?" . . . well, I see that as a fair introduction to a fellow fan. Every time I've met a UM fan, a fun exchange about our favorite game ensues.

Maybe the guy you met was being a douche, but I think you need to temper that with the fact that Buckeyes out west don't see many Michigan fans. Maybe they want to say something because taunting at the stadium will never happen for them. Anyway, I'd take it with a grain of salt. He was probably more excited to see another Big Ten fan than anything else.

When will you people get that

When will you people get that he was not thrown out the the spring game. Tressel was joking.

Nevermind

Disregard

Totally

Totally right.

OMG, he's a scary gang member! Thank God for the Second Amendment!

You all sound like children.

You all sound like children. "Let's all malign Pryor for his clothes, his tattoos, the stupid shit that people like to do with their hands."

It's not like every athlete ever has done the same sorts of things as him. He didn't choose Michigan. That doesn't make him a bad person.

RE: #2
Yeah, those are high

RE: #2
Yeah, those are high expectations, but are the same kind of expectations OSU has just about every year. I know they're a bit unrealistic, but I think that we can all imagine a UM team for which this is at least a possibility, year in year out.

No. Tressel was joking with

No. Tressel was joking with reporters when he said Pryor was held out for talking trash. He was "ejected" because he's too important to get hurt in the Spring Game. Tressel also shortened the fourth quarter to 8 minutes.

Someone call the police, or

Someone call the police, or at least Department of Homeland Security! That guy forgot the last period in his ellipsis!

Little bitter that he didn't

Little bitter that he didn't get an offer?

With my sweatervest-y fanship

With my sweatervest-y fanship tendencies, that makes me very nervous. Oh well, maybe that's not the real Seantrel Henderson.

Guard. Boren will be

Guard. Boren will be starting at left guard. Any by all accounts should be the best player on tOSU's line this year. Word is he's been rocking all of the Buckeyes' d-lineman in drills.

Yeah, that guy was a total

Yeah, that guy was a total 'roid freak.

OSU loses (Guys that actually

OSU loses (Guys that actually played):
QB Boeckman
RBs Beanie & Mo Wells
FB Brandon Smith
WRs Robiskie & Hartline
TE Nichol
OLs Boone, Person & Rehring
DT Abdullah
LBs Laurinaitis & Freeman
CB Jenkins & Washington

Jenkins, Beanie and Laurinaitis are the only irreplaceable guys on that list. Lots of the others (Boone, Rehring, Hartline, Mo Wells) were underachievers who probably won't be missed much. OSU should have a better line, better receivers, and certainly an improved QB next year. Biggest questions are the secondary and LBs, but there is a LOT of talent waiting @ LB.

tOSU has had top recruiting classes for a couple of years, and that will pay a lot of dividends in the coming year. That's why everyone is so high on them.
