Are we WV or Glenville St. or Michigan?

We are Michigan, the winningest college football program in the country. We have the biggest stadium and we get top recruits and once Rich Rodriguez establishes his program we will be far better than WV or Glenville St. ever was.

89 underclassmen. Be patient!

I was thinking of that the other day...

but I would think he would have a better platform here than at any of the places he's been before on which to a) recruit his players and b) build his program.

Of course, the apparent division in the fanbase and rumoured division within the athletic department take away from those somewhat, IMHE.

And the messy divorce from WVU (which probably shouldn't have been that messy), the debacle with the buyout and the document shredding, the 'failed business venture' and the practice too much. Most of these are smoke and mirrors, if you ask me.

I think the capability is there. I hope he gets a fair shake and has the opportunity to do what he does.

True

No disagreement with your comments but something is amiss with the programs. Something is just not right and it's not about young kids with out experience. We have always heard how the team is as one and pumped and all on the same page and practicing really well. Obviously that's not being shown on the field on Saturdays.

Fact

We would kick Glenville State's ass.

Is there room on the schedule next year?

Well if Ohio State can schedule Youngstown State....

And if Michigan can schedule

And if Michigan can schedule Delaware State, the second best 1-AA program in the State of Delaware!

YSU

I brought up Youngstown State since they didn't seem to show up on Ohio State's schedule until Tressel (who used to coach for them) got there.

So you see if Tressel can schedule one of his old teams then Rich Rod could...oh forget it it's late.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress.

Yes, there seem to be

Yes, there seem to be intrinsic problems in motivation and all, but I think Coach just has to recruit and identify with his players a little more.

In terms of rah-rah, the togetherness displayed at the beginning of the season would be a welcome sight now.

Let's not forget the unity, everyone.

God bless your cotton-pickin' Maize and Blue hearts!

Feeling The Pain

I am New to this site snd blogging in general. So let me tell you a bit about myself. I am A Michigan Man and had the privledge of Playing for Bo. Not only am I Michigan Graduate so was my father (law school) as well as Undergraduate so are both my Grandparents as well as being UofM Profs.I will be honest that I was not enthused over RR's hiring however my biggest issue is his seemingly impervious view of Michigan Standards
Traditions and back handed gripes about what was being done before he arrived, to me that smells of Excuses and possible
lack of Character. But (8-13) there is no excuse for that. We are A LONG way off from getting back to our ALL TIME BEST Winning %. We will Need ALOT of Undefeated or 1 loss seasons to get back to it. I am pulling for it but based on what I have seen and heard particularlly with his Attitude to Lloyd. I have known coach Carr for 30+ years he is a man of Intergrity a True
Michigan Man, for Coach Rod to get my respect and others I played with would like to see some reverance toward what has come before him which By The Way is Far Ahead of Anything that Coach Rod has done. Coach you mind moving the bus off Lloyd.

Winning,Tradition,Intergrity.

Nice observation, Magnus..

.... I have a hard time believing that the comment to which you refer actually came from anyone who went to class at UM.

However, I have a feeling that we may have a case of false identity here. The comment is so negative toward the current head football coach at the supposed alma mater of the person making the comment that it really isn't consistent with a Michigan Man.

If he really were a Michigan Man, he would be behind "his" coach a hundred percent instead of trying to sabotage his tenure at UM. And if Bo were alive, he'd probably tell him just that.

1ofBoBoys ... you mind

moving the bus off the basic elements of English composition?
Your views on the state of the program will be welcomed by most here, but you won't be taken seriously if you present your thoughts like the above.

Kind of Wish Bo had Shown you

Kind of Wish Bo had Shown you how to Properly capitalize Words and Proper sentence Structure.

Welcome to the blog and all, but please don't post loosely-structured diatribes while harping on topics such as "Character" and "Attitude" and failing to display integrity. Football is a game, and while it may embody some romanticized notions of how "true" men should act, it is governed and played by flawed men.
