I have never been on the Dave Brandon is an idiot or doing a bad job train; at least, not to the extent that most of the MgoBlog community is. However, I must say that he needs to go.
I graduated from Michigan in 2007, my last season was 2006 and things have been progressively worse since. It is inexcusable that the University of Michigan field a mediocre-to-bad football team in the 4th year of a coach's tenure. Money is not an issue, talent may not be an issue, it seems coaching is the only explanation.
I will go to the game on Saturday and root for the kids and the coaches working extremely hard for the University that I love. I do not believe the athletic department and football coaching administration is competent. I believe in accountability; by most objective metrics, Brandon and Hoke are not adequate and must improve or lose their jobs.

Regarding the State game
Someone could offer me 50 yard line free tickets and I don't think I'd go.

I left the game after Gardner's second pick in the 4th quarter. I really wasn't that disappointed, merely puzzled at the performance.
Usually I have that bemused indifference when watching the Lions but Michigan's consistent mediocrity since I graduated (2007) shares that apathetic emotion.

My sister (a Michigan alumni too) just had her first child; she agrees to start the fandom early.
Best wishes and Go Blue!

My arteries are despondent over this new initiative.
Just checked out Mr. Pichey's blog, outstanding recipes for tailgates and other occasions.
Excited for the new feature

Seems to represent the university well
May you catch many touchdowns Jehu, I'm rooting for you.

Thanks for the rejoinder
Seems like Urban is responding well to warranted criticism from his tenure at Florida and doing his best to have the football team reflect well on the university.

I really enjoyed reading the diary; it was nuanced and appreciative of reasonable dissension among Michigandom. I love MgoBlog but agree that often one perspective is trumpeted and other views are inexorably mistaken.

Third game at South Bend...just wanted to comment on tickets
Previously I was able to get tickets while walking around tailgates for less than $100. Back in 2012, I was 40 yard line way up to the top of the stadium for $80. Tickets were going for more than $250 on Stub Hub. It may be different with the last game for the foreseeable future but I plan on bringing a few hundred bucks with me and looking to scalp with cash pregame.

Just started ATT U-Verse (previously had Comcast) and love it. I'm paying $95 and was given free HBO / Showtime for 3 months with $300 back for switching in Visa debit cards.
Comcast was previously $205 a month with cable and internet (BTN, FSD, HBO, and AMC). Once we canceled our service, Comcast agreed to lower our bill to $100.
I honestly plan to switch from ATT to Comcast every year to take advantage of the promotional rates. Internet and TV quality is about the same. Anything more than $100 a month seems pretty outrategous for one DVR box, HD, Cable, and internet. Also, lots more free movie channels with ATT.

But a bit of a sad panda over this signing
Red Wings have excellent forward depth (especially is Weiss is servicable). If the prospects are so valued, let's get them on the roster and in meaningful situations. If not, let's try to upgrade the defense by packaging Tartar and a few draft picks for Mike Green or Tyler Myers. I have a lot of respect for the Management team but our decisions are not consistent.
Let's go with youth, trade the prospects and try to win now with Z and Datsyuk are the end of their primes, or a middle path of losing a prospect or two to shore up key deficiencies on the team (read defense). The Wings seem to be rudder-less; although, cap space is still a non-issue and a trade may be in the works.
