| 2 days 16 hours ago | Regarding Mob Rule |
Ditto, I love the blog and read it daily. I do think when people criticize Michigan coaches or take an opinion that doesn't jive with one of the writers / editors (Brian, Seth, Ace, Heiko) it is almost always negatively scored (as you kids type, neg'd). I think that is stupid. Anyways, amazing piece---couldn't live w/out MGoBlog and the Free Press. Not trying to be a jerk, I get the rage against Rosenberg and such, but I still don't give a crap and like the writers (namely Drew Sharp because he is a cynical jerk and I find it amusing) Best wishes homies and forever go blue |

He's in trouble |
| 2 weeks 6 days ago | I vote Lashoff |
At least he can contribute on the penalty kill DeKeyser is the man; wings may have stumbled on something special there--unreal how he played with zero professional experience |

So well done |

I love them |
| 3 weeks 3 days ago | Detroit / Chicago |
2nd round would be so awesome Huge wings fan but both teams play puck possession style so it should be a fun series. No guarentee to beat Ducks first but Original Six match-up in second round would be sweet. Just moved back to Detroit from Chicago and my favorite sports memory from Illinois was United Center wings / blackhawks playoff hockey--such a blast. |

| 8 weeks 1 day ago | Academics |
I know we went through this with the Harbaugh / Stanford / Athletes receiving an education discussion, but Ace alludes to Stanford's "...rigorous academic standards even for athletes" Don't all schools have the same standards in order to qualify? Does this mean a 5-star recruit would have less trouble attending Berkeley, Virginia, or Michigan as opposed to Stanford. I would appreciate anyone's insight. |

| 13 weeks 5 days ago | I've had both ACLs repaired |
I had two ACL surgeries; my right knee at UM at age 19 and my left knee in Chicago at age 25. I had the patellar tendon repair on both knees and currently have zero pain and am fully active. That's the way to go if you want to continue being mobile (basketball, skiing, similar cutting sports). Usually you are ready for activity 6 months after surgery, usually you start physical therapy immediately after surgery Dr. Bruce Miller at the university of Michigan hospital was excellent. Harvard MD and under graduate, he's the head team physician for the hockey team I believe. I currently live in Chicago and Dr. Bach operated on my other knee. https://www.rushortho.com/Bernard_Bach.cfm Good luck! |

is our goalie of the now and future, I think he turns 29 this year. That being said, I watched the game last night and was impressed with Mrazek. I agree that our defense needs work but we have great young talent with Smith and Lashoff. I think the Wings may be able to strike lightning twice and transition from Z and Datsyuk to Nyquist and Tartar. I think we can make the playoffs but need to clean up the back end for sure. |

| 22 weeks 5 days ago | No Big Deal |
I was deferred or wait listed (don't actually remember the specific bucket) for under grad b-school---when it used to be a 2 year program Basically, I would advise that she do well in her final semester of high school and the write a 1 page essay explaining how her activities helped prepare her for the rigors of UM Example: I got straight A's my final semester My time management improved through my dedication to literacy from volunteering at a local center for kids Finally, I was able to contribute to a district title in softball ----
Essentially just send a one page outlining positive developments since her initial application and make the decision easy for the admissions people.
Good luck! If her heart is set on UM she'll make it happen, worst case go have the best 4 years of your life in another settling. I was always struck by peers freaking out if they didn't get into the grad program or course of study they wanted. If you're so easily defeated by such a set back--you wouldn't achieve your goals anyway.
Soap box over--Good luck! |

Try Buddy's
I think it's the best fusion of Chicago / New York Style.
Personally a big fan of the pizza in Detroit. Cottage Inn deep dish, Jet's square is pretty good, and Buddy's is my favorite pizza of them all.

I was at the Arena after the game last weekend, it was crowded pretty quickly but was able to get a 6 person table with minimal effort / wait. I agree with previous sentiments regarding the TVs being mounted higher than normal but for a game it was wasn't bothersome. I vote for local establishments over large chains whenever possible. I ended up a few times at Banfield's off Packard when a buddy lived out that way--very townie but thoroughly a sports bar. Reminded me of back home (Warren). |

Fister throws a gem |
| 36 weeks 3 days ago | Have tickets to the entire series |
Both teams have been quite inconsistent I think unless the White Sox sweep it will be a race until the end of season Let's go Tigers but not very optimistic--we haven't scored runs for Porcello since July |

Could not agree more about the Cubs or Blackhawks fans Have no problem with anyone being passionate about their team but have some idea of what you're talking about Standard Chicago hockey conversation: Blackhawks guy: Detroit sucks! Me: I don't know about your keeper; Crawford looks shaky this year Blackhawks guys: I'm not a hockey fan. Me: Ok |
