premature congrats. One thing we can be sure of: he'll take fewer asinine penalties than Abdelkader

The last time I saw the plans, it didn't just include an arena, but also more bars and restaurants to surround it. I believe they are hoping to entice the Pistons into moving back to Detroit as well. More games => more spending + more jobs => more taxes. I don't think they are going to have a hard time getting their $285 million in back if everything goes according to plan. |

Above average...technically, yes. Taylor Martinez had a better passer efficiency last year, though, so I wouldn't exactly say that being above average says much about your passing abilities. Also, that above average efficiency comes from only attempting 20 passes per game at a rate of 13 yards/completion, so it's not like he's really passing it down field a lot. |
| 1 day 3 hours ago | I finally got a game in. This |
I finally got a game in. This game is going to be a lot of fun. The option game seems a lot better and receivers were able to get open for once. One quick scan of the field and you can generally find someone open instead of every one of them being blanketed. I actually saw a CB make the wrong read on the route, which was left my receiver arm-wavingly wide open. Then, my offensive line held out long enough to make the safety pick a receiver on 4 verts. That was 6 points. I'm going to enjoy putting a playbook together, in this game, that makes the defense wrong on every play. |

He'll never wear the #1 jersey at Michigan, though, which we all know is way more important than any of that. |

So, who else is excited about them getting rid of the need to spend half your time recruiting between games? Also, the RPG aspect of coaching seems pretty sweet, but it seems like it would encourage keeping your starters on the field late in the game unless, of course, they make taking your starters out worth more points. I was reading about these last week and was going to post something, but I'm glad that I hesitated because now I don't have to take the negbang for it. |
| 1 week 9 hours ago | Mostly. Everything in |
Mostly. Everything in Kingslanding and on the wall will be book 3, but Bran is already done with his content in book 3 and Arya has parts of two chapters left, so they might only take one episode. That basically means that they are going to have to start on the book 4/5 content for those two. Dany has two chapters left as well, which they could stretch out for an entire season or they could take an episode or two to cover it and then move on to the book 5 content. |

One of the cool ideas for passthrough is the ability to have your fantasy sports scores on the side while watching TV. Another use that I could see is if my friend and I are watching something on TV, we'll play a game during the commercials/halftime, so it makes it easier to monitor in that sense. |

GDDR5, not DDR5. GDDR5 will be faster for graphics. DDR3 will be faster for general usage. Considering that Microsoft sold out on the idea of a media center, you're pretty much comparing apples and oranges. |

Think of it this way. Michigan was 50/50 before. Michigan's standing hasn't changed so now you have two teams splitting the other 50% and it's 50/25/25. |

| 1 week 2 days ago | Just curious, did you watch |
Just curious, did you watch last night's episode? Do you remember that scene with Sam and Bran where Sam was all like "WTF?!?! WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO GO NORTH OF THE WALL?!?!?!"? I believe that may have been a hint as to what was coming for Bran. Just FYI. |
| 1 week 2 days ago | Ok, I guess I just figured |
Ok, I guess I just figured that the scene in the show was meant to replace the other one since a certain someone in that bunch died in the show already. Going with the idea that it had already happened, I couldn't think of anything else that can't happen for her. I hope that makes sense. We really need to start splitting these threads into spoilers and no spoilers. |
| 1 week 2 days ago | Even I'm trying to think of |
Even I'm trying to think of what you are talking about. I can't think of anything that can't happen in the show. The one thing that I think you may be talking about is something that I expect them to do in episode1 next season. |
| 1 week 2 days ago | It's not really a different |
It's not really a different viewpoint on the same events. Keep in mind that, so far, Dany has pretty much literally been on her own island from the rest of the characters. Anything happening north of the wall is separate from everything south of the wall. You'll get brief cross-overs between those like Barristan Selmy jumping from Kingslanding to Astapor to be with Dany. Other than that, though, everything is pretty segregated, and breaking them into books isn't really that big of a deal on its own. Keep in mind that the 4th book came 5 years after the 3rd and the 5th came 6 years after the 4th, so waiting 5 years to get the less interesting storylines and 11 years total to continue the more interesting storylines was really the crux of the matter. To put it into perspective, on reddit, the other day, someone took books 4 and 5 and came up with a new suggested reading order of the chapters in which he broke the books down into 5 or 6 "books" that followed different storylines. Each could pretty much be read independently aside from some small allusions to other storylines. This seemed to be a pretty common thing and people started listing their own breakdowns, so the book is really more like the current Marvel comic book movies where each character gets their own storyline, but then they come together to handle one big event, if that makes sense. |

Maybe no one mentioned that movie because no one saw it. |
| 1 week 2 days ago | Books 4 and 5 are split |
Books 4 and 5 are split between characters, so half the characters perspectives are in one book and the other half are in the other book. I think that the problem that a lot of people had with book 4 is that almost everything that almost everything that happens in book 4 is in Kingslanding and book 5 takes most everything else. Since everything else seems to be where the action happens, book 4 seems pretty uneventful. I don't think that anyone thinks that they are going to be able to do a season for book 4 only followed by a season of book 5 only. Not only does that make people forget about characters, but the actors are put out of a job for a year but still locked into a contract the following year which limits their options for work. It's obvious at this point that parts of books 4 and 5 are going to be worked into next season because certain characters are at the end of their storylines in book 3, e.g. Bran has no more content in book 3. So, unless they make up some stuff for him to fill until the book 5 content, they'll be working off book 5 content for him next season. I'm personally fine with this because the books are all pretty much uneventful build up for the first half. If they can get the buildup to events out of the way for certain storylines while season 4 gets through some really good parts of book 3, then next season, they'll be able to start with some really good stuff for the characters they went ahead on while they build up events for the other characters. |

Tyrion is definitely one of the most popular characters in the books, if not the most popular. |
| 1 week 2 days ago | That is a great question to |
That is a great question to ask. I think when you pair it with the conversation between Cersei and Tyrion, you get your answer. One innocent life to kill your enemies, but for every enemy you kill you, two more enemies arise. So, now you are talking about two innocent lives on top of the one you've already spent against the thousand. It's never just one innocent life. Not really spelled out for the audience, but it is a connection that I just made, which is pretty deep. |

Fuck the Ask Toolbar and the Java installer it rode in on. Seriously, though, who is going to willingly allow you to install the Ask Toolbar on their computer? Oh, that's right, my parents and my in-laws. And who gets stuck fixing the computer when the Ask Toolbar is eating half the memory in the computer and altering search results? Oh, that's right, me. |
| 1 week 2 days ago | I would argue that Jaime and |
I would argue that Jaime and Brienne being back in town now instead of later has the potential to change a lot of things. Granted, they are things that can be easily written around, but there are going to be things that have to change because of the timing. Honestly, what I think they will do with it is a good twist, so I'm not complaining, but it's still a pretty major change from the books. |
| 1 week 2 days ago | I know, but a certain |
I know, but a certain character has one chapter left in the book. Bran is done until book 5. They are going to have to draw content from those books anyway. Another character that doesn't have their own chapters until book 4 is going to be neither seen nor heard in season 4 unless they start pulling up content and you need the epilogue from this book to tie into that. I just kind of wish they had pushed those along like they did with Bran so that next season actually starts with all of that content they are going to have to pull down. Now, I just assume that they are going to put a lot of it in the season premiere, but who knows. |
| 1 week 3 days ago | I'm really disappointed with that episode. Cut out |
I'm really disappointed with that episode. Cut out all of the bullshit talking scenes that don't progress the story. Put in the interesting things that happen next for several characters and you have a much better episode. |
| 1 week 3 days ago | Well, I expect that any dip |
Well, I expect that any dip in the ratings will cause them to re-evaluate what they are doing with the show. As long as they are increasing viewers, keep doing what you're doing, but once there is a sign of a decline, you either scale back expenses or cancel the show. I think that the Red Wedding and this final episode will result in increases in viewers for next season. If they do what I think they are going to do with next season, I expect an increase in viewers in season 5, at least for the first episodes. They typically greenlight after seeing the results of the first episode, so that would mean a 6th season. However, if there is a dip next season due to the red wedding, I'd guess that we might not even get a season 5 or 6. |
| 1 week 5 days ago | Average viewers per episode |
This is what will keep Game of Thrones on TV. They have continuously increased their ratings each season. With all of the talk about the Red Wedding and a strong finish this week, season 4 might even top The Sopranos' best season. As long as they are bringing in subscriptions, they will have what they need to continue. If the show starts slipping and losing viewers, they'll either have to cut back the budget a bit or cancel the show. Either way, I think this next episode and next season will keep adding subscriptions. Depending on how they handle season 5, I could see them getting cut off after season 6, but I think they'll make it 7 or 8 seasons. Keep in mind that the Sopranos made it 86 episodes and Game of Thrones has a lot more content to work with, so 8 or 9 seasons to finish the 7 books isn't really out of the realm of possibility. |
