I was 14 in 1976. My parents announced they were getting a divorce that spring, and that summer was really going to suck, and I needed a diversion or two to get me through it all. Fidrych WAS that diversion. I will never forget going to Tiger Stadium with my grandfather on a Saturday afternoon and beating Cleveland (I believe), in front of about 48,000 or so. It was electric there, and so was he. I only wish I could have a chance to meet him in person and tell him all of this. Thanks, Bird. |

but it was a great season, nonetheless. Maybe next year, when the program makes the progression from bubble team to legitimate contender, we'll get those calls. In any case, it is cool to see Michigan basketball relevant again. |

They usually have the times so that they are in the Monday morning newspapers, at least that's the way it's been historically. Because it's paired with a #2-#15 game, it's the earlier of the two; so it will either be early Thursday afternoon, or early Thursday evening. |

...has us pegged as a #10 seed in the West, playing #7 Texas. He seems pretty confident about getting in. As has been noted, he got all 65 last year. Until he has a "bad" year, I'll listen to him before anyone else. |

...that Harris did, no matter what his stats may or may not say, would make me think he should win an award for being the top college b-ball player in the country. If he did, then the NBA's future is in the toilet. Even a reasonable person would not likely put Harris in the top 10 in the nation. Let's make this clear: No matter what, or how many, names may be on the list, there are "really" only 3, 4, or 5 names that are relevant concerning this subject. And, believe me, none of them are playing in the Big 10. Just sayin'. |

...Beilein benches Harris, for reasons that may never be fully explained (because, maybe, it's none of our damn business). Mr. Harris responds by throwing down 27 on the #16 team in the country. Seeing as though Coach Beilein probably has forgotten more about basketball than any of us wannabes will ever know, I would trust that he made the right move. No matter what the Freep, or any of us, would or should say. |
