The first word/action when Campbell committed.

What was the first thing that came out of your mouth or the first thing you did as soon as the guy committed. Just curious. I was folding my laundry, saw him reaching towards LSU where I then felt my nuts shrivel up and my heart stop beating, and then I saw him pick up that Blue cap and just sat as I turned off the game (no point in watching anymore) and felt 20 pounds lighter.

Were you forced to do another load of laundry given the sudden release of 20 pounds? I started clapping and then turned the TV off.

First of all, let me say that I think a lot of people had a similar reaction - I know I did. But why!? I think somebody in the Psychology department needs to do a study on all of us! I didn't even follow recruiting a year ago and all of a sudden news like this actually makes my day better. WTF? Does anyone else feel like they're going crazy?

Here's why: 1. Recruiting's a competition. Getting him is a "win" against the other schools. 2. His commitment fills our heads with sugar plum fantasies of national titles. 3. Our self-esteem is boosted by the fact that he, having the chance to go anywhere, chose the same school as us.

I have followed recruiting for 10 years or so but this year every little detail is being followed and my wife thinks I am a psycho for having pay accounts at Rivals and Scout. I tend to agree.

...started to cringe when I saw him reach for that damn LSU hat, then let out a scream and a "YES!!!!!" as he put on that beautiful block M. My heart was pounding. Then I began to eat my Taco Bell that nearly made me miss the big moment (I walked into my house just as they were cutting to Will's announcement). Damn you, Volcano Taco. MinorforPresident: Don't feel too psycho. I told my gf that I was going home to watch the game b/c I wanted to see if a HS kid was going to commit to Michigan. She gave me a weird look.

I did nothing, as I was forced to flip the channel momentarily to the damn International Bowl by visiting in-laws. Had I seen it, I probably would have made love to my wife; or at least my pillow.

what I do to relatives. I ususally put their bodys in the basement until the spring thaw. Anyway I jumped out of my seat and screamed uhhh, I yelled like a man not some crazed teen aged girl at a NKOTHB concert. Like a man yeah I yelled and grunted.

I called my dad and he was not nearly as shocked as he replied "you told me he was a wolverine on xmas eve." but it was exciting having the minor doubts cleared!

coming to UM my reaction was a very surprised "No shit!" At this point in RR's tenure, this commit is as important for PR reasons as it is for whatever he does on the field. Losing the top instate kid after an initial commitment never looks good for any coach, especially if you're coming off a brutal year. Here's hoping this will pay off in other recruits who're considering us.

Hoo-f'ing-ray! My second thought: we need young men who want to play at Michigan. Better they "de-commit" (an oxymoron) than matriculate and then bitch and moan (aka what's-his-name riding the bench at Arkansas). I think Big Will's decision will help round out this class quite nicely. Think about it: if RichRod can go top 10 with a class after a year of high drama and a 3-9 record, what will it be like in a year or two. I think 2009 will be slightly over .500 and then 2010: watch out.

I yelled "Yeah!!" and pumped my left fist in the air. Then, I returned to my plumbing project in the basement (while having the game on in the background). I was very impressed by Gibbons, Gallon, Turner and Tajh Boyd. Mr. Boyd looked very sharp. RR could certainly use a player like that.

I think the reason we all reacted the way we did, to an 18-year-old seemingly making up his mind, is that the football program has had one break after another go against them. For a year or so, "blue chips" like Pryor and others have dangled carrots at us saying they want to come here, only to snatch the carrot away at the last minute. This looked to be just another one of those occasions. It just felt gratifying to see one go our way for once, and maybe it will be the start of some good karma for awhile. At least we can hope.
