Seems to me there will be a lot of them considering there was a whistle every time Blake Griffin touched the ball. Not to mention every time Manny tried to get to the hole. Let it out - we're all friends here.

The last two "charges" were bogus. In the first, the defender's feet were planted but Manny was coming at an angle and the defender shifter his upper body into Harris. Foul on OK. And the last call, obviously, not even close to a charge. They wanted him out of the game.

What happened on the technical foul on our bench after OK was called with a travel? made no sense. also, what was going on when novak drove, scored, and a foul was called....they counted the bucket, but the OK player got to shoot two freethrows. I was utterly confused. Terrible commentary by the CBS guys to explain. Great season, go blue

...but they did help OU win. Did Manny have two or three charges? Every time we drove it was a charge or a no-call. Every time OU drove it was a blocking foul. That's all. Blake Griffin IS a really good player but he is the cockiest person I have ever seen that actually says so little. He's a giant douche. Good season, Michigan, though.

I started writing this same thing when you posted it. The T on the bench was unbelievable and at least 2 of Harris' charges were terrible calls. But absolutely - nothing to hang their heads about. Great season for Beilein's guys. If everybody is back (Manny) this is going to be a very good team in the Big 10 next year - should be in the top 3-5 in the league.

The charge calls were terrible. That one that gave Manny his 4th killed our comeback attempt. WTF was up with the tech on the bench too?? Can't argue with the calls on the defensive end though, we absolutely mauled Griffin and it did us no good. I must say I'm looking forward to the Griffin vs. Hansbrough match-up. And by looking forward to it I mean looking forward to it the way people in the 19th century looked forward to an execution. It will be especially fun to hear the announcers try and justify it.

The worst calls and noncalls: 1. I don't understand how its a foul on the defender when Griffin slams his shoulder into the defender twice, shuffles his feet and then the DEFENDER gets called for the foul, and there's no traveling call on griffin. 2. Sims getting slapped in face by brother griffin when he went up for a lay up. 3. The manny harris "charge", which was definitely a foul on the defender

I echo the sentiments that the reffing sucked horribly but, at the same time, didn't decide the game's outcome. I think the NCAA needs to start protecting the area underneath the basket. It is counterproductive (and dangerous) to award players for camping under the net. Plus, it really detracts from the game. M had a good season and I was happy to see two of the team's more maligned players -Anthony Wright and CJ Lee - keep the squad competitive down the stretch.

Agreed 100%. Can't blame the refs for our loss. But like the NBA, if you get close enough to the rim, you have to give the offense some credit... Hopefully this is changed soon.

but it was a great season, nonetheless. Maybe next year, when the program makes the progression from bubble team to legitimate contender, we'll get those calls. In any case, it is cool to see Michigan basketball relevant again.

Who knew that Tebow played basketball? And that he was a ginger? I don't care if the refs call a game close or loose, just call it the same on both ends. I always hate it when they say that something is not a foul because someone like Griffin is just a physical player. No, when you dislodge a defender who has already established a stationary defensive position it is a charge, whether you are a big guy or a little one. The rules should not change simply because it is easier for one person to do it than another. The refs may not have lost the game, but they can sure make it a lot harder for the underdog to pull an upset. My biggest gripe with basketball is the superstar treatment -that the calls are made based on the player and not the action. It has always been a problem in the pros, and it is becoming more of a problem in college as well.

circle in college basketball fast enough. That would be a big help to many close calls. There are not many things that need to be put in place for college bb from the NBA, but the half circle and three point line moved back are two things I would like.

My personal favorite foul was the one on Manny boxing out, where he basically got landed on by Griffin reaching over the back. Early in the game. I don't know how you call a foul on a guy who has a 250 pound load of bricks falling on him.

Did we get a single charge/block call our way all game? I seriously can't remember one that went our way. When we drove, it was a charge. When they did, it was a block. Most of these were bang-bang plays that could have gone either way. How does a scrub who wears a longsleeve shirt command more respect from the officials than Manny?

was that all the close calls went to OU. I remember wanting to throw my beer mug through the large screen when griffen bulled over a stationary novak and got the 3 point play, Mannys last 2 offensive fouls, and some point in the second half where griffen missed a tough contested shot and after we had the rebound the refs decided to call it a foul. The refs didnt cost us the game but they surely limited our ability to win it.
