Tate forcier.. Plan?

Submitted by GoBlue00 on
There was an article on yahoo sports from rivals saying someethng like Tate forcier is enrolling to michigan in few weeks bla bla ( things we knew ). But, then it said Tate forcier has a plan with coach rodriguez and rod smith. Does anyone got rivals prescribed? What "plan" does he have? Thanks for any comments on this.

Well, given he's as polished as he is you know he's put in a lot of work in high school. And he obviously knows he's going to be competing for the starting job, so it's not surprising he's going to put in a ton of work into learning the offense right from the get go. The guy clearly is willing to put in the work needed to be a good QB. Even without Beaver actually having a competition between reasonable options healthy Threet and Forcier will help. And the difference between backup Forcier/healthy Threet is a big step up over Sheridan.

Thanks. Good stuff. Yeah him doing whatever he can is great for us. I remember I read for his HS ball, every friday he watched films all day.

Basically Forcier said if he wasn't with his tutor he'll be with Smith and RR in the office. When he is not in the office with them he will be with Barwis for strength and conditioning, And when he is not with Barwis he will be watching film. He really is motivated in learning the offense as fast as possible- that's why he wanted to enroll early

If he can come in and get the other players to buy into his work ethic and passion for the game everything should work out. I would love to see him come in be the Leader that we need on Offense take over, and lead the team like say McCoy or Tebow leads their team

all the right things. Well, the road is open for him. All he has to do is perform. I wonder can he survive without his daddy right there next to him all the time. Probably. I heard Sheridan is tranferring to Tulsa. Knows he will start there.

I know its very important for Tate to learn the playbook. I'm glad he is spending a lot of time with RR and the offensive coordinator. I just hope there is any resentment by others players that Tate is getting all this one-on-one committment.

The way I look at it is that Tate is responsible for this schedule, not the coaches. I don't think there will be resentment. If anything, there will be a sense of taking responsibility for ones part in "the team". Being the best possible player and teammate for the team. That makes everyone better. If someone feels resentful, it's that they don't want to put in the effort to succeed in this offense. Tate's work ethic will push the bar of expectations way up. That kind of work ethic is contagious, even if a freshman or a few freshmen are driving it. I've experienced this "phenomenon" first hand. Not in football, but in baseball. Despite the sport difference, it's still true for team chemistry.

sounds to me as though he is coming in here with the full intent of starting as a freshman. And, considering what his competition is, he may very well do it. Whatever the case may be, bringing a QB that has a clue what's going on is damn well better than what we got right now.

If u think about it, manningham and arrington prob went to the NFL ( after they heard mallet transfering, obviously ) because they knew threet/sheridan wud prob be qbs and they knew how bad they were. Thats why i think tates prob gonna come in and run the show from day 1

I think Manningham was going to the NFL regardless of who the quarterback was. Arrington probably decided once he knew that Rodriguez was the coach and/or Mallett would be transferring. Mathews was frustrated with HIS lack of receptions. Imagine his lack of receptions if Arrington was the #1 receiver. Hell, Arrington got drafted in the 7th round as a junior - if he had waited a year, he might not have been drafted at all.

Manningham was an absolute lock to go pro from the first week of the 2007 season. Everyone knew it. Arrington seemed more up in the air at the time but there were rumblings that he was gone, too. His big bowl performance probably cinched it for him.
