How about the

How about:
- "The Cupboard was bare"
- "He only has 1 full recruiting class" and the sub faction of "wait until he gets HIS guys"
- "Lloyd gave up on recruiting years ago"

or the group I fall in

"We are going to score 70pts per game with this offense"

Your soul

A little bit of your soul goes along with every ticket you sell to an OSU fan. Seriously, too much red. I hope the OSU fans I know just look over this. Do not want to hear it from them.

Herbstreit is still talking shit

Calling for Shaw. Talking like he is trying to put a bull's eye on him.

Shame, shame Herbstreit.

WE BELIEVE! CLAP! CLAP! WE BELIEVE! CLAP! CLAP!

GO BLUE!

WE BELIEVE! (clap, clap) WE BELIEVE! (clap, clap)

WE BELIEVE! (clap, clap) WE BELIEVE! (clap, clap)

GO BLUE!

Per "The Game" hype video

"Its the person who's willing to die for that inch who wins."

Brandon Minor - RAGE - fits that better than any player, ever. If he isn't dead, he'll go. The crowd's eruption when they see him make his way on the field is going to blow up my TV's speakers....

WE BELIEVE! (clap, clap) WE BELIEVE! (clap, clap)

GO BLUE!

Can't help it

I watched the 2009 preview video for the 1000th time this morning.....this time felt just like the first. It was complete with a slight tear. If you can't get UP for this game, check for a toe tag.

I Believe.

WE BELIEVE (Clap, Clap) WE BELIEVE (Clap, Clap)

GO BLUE

Sorry, but.......

that's like seeing your child waiving your handgun...Dangerous!

"Put it down.....give it back to daddy, please.......good boy."
Only Brian has the power to deploy the muppets.

A trick play = .....

Any time we line Denard up in the backfield with Tate and....wait for it.....do NOT run Denard! It is super crazy 'n all, but it might full someone. Hopefully 11 someones.

I like the classic Southpark tune

Uncle Fucker!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UMaTg3lSf4&feature=related

I would give up

your left nut too. There it is. We have ourselves a sacrificial testical. And may the Michigan Safety-Linebacker-Other Cornerback-General Defense-Hating gods look the other way for 1 game.

The moral of this story...

1. A statement like "my friend who is a tOSU fan" is oxymoronic. Most tOSU fans want you to think the sky is falling. To them, Michigan misery is sweet music. The are not to be trusted.
2. Reading is GOOD. Try mgoblog.com for all your reading pleasure. You will find a wide array of intellectual text, some purty dern good vocab, and maybe some good football info here and there.

Kovacs

Well, Kovacs did get a pick......I wanted him to run more than anyone.

Wildcat

occasional wildcat formations would be an awesome way to get their talents on the field. Also, lining one up in the backfield and one at slot with one at QB(duh). would open up alot of unique plays, maybe even trickery 'n such. I expect to see T-Force and D-Rob on the field at the same time plenty this week. And, SUPRISE, with D-rob on the field we run play action and hit JR DEEP for a TD. What? we didn't run with D-Rob on the field?? OSU's safeties would be all to focused on D-Rob.

Rambling on......

As a matter of fact, put D-Rob in the backfield with T-Force on the first play. Don't waste time setting up the long ball by giving it to D-Rob, and later go deep. We have already set it up by doing it all season long. Go deep on play 1 and catch their safeties salivating at the thought of chasing D-Rob. Hemmingway in for 6.

We Win

That is it, we win! That may take a TE out of the game, it may force Scotty T. to make fast decisions (interceptions), it may cause BG to break Clay's ankle....oh, yes!!

Prediction: D.Warren and, yes I'm gonna say it, Kovacs with a pick-6 each! BG with 4 sacks. Death Roh with 2 sacks. Brown with Clay on the ground fianlly planting him there in the 2nd quarter.

Just 3 more beers to game-time

I like simple, too

Pretty cool to see it simple like that. The visits are HEAVY on the D side of the ball for the OSU game. Do you think the recruits will say, "I have to come here, they really need me" if we have a bad defensive show? Or, will it be more like, "I don't want to be a part of that?"

Hopefully we just win, and nothing else matters (think Metallica's "Unforgiven")

Hate, it grows strong with this one.....

I can't hold back anymore. Seriously, the hook-n-ladder in 08, the onside kick in 09, Danny Hope and his retarded mustache f@#king with OUR Rich Rod, and now the biggest drum. Where is my dog? Must...kick....something.....but I liked that cat, oh well.

The way I see it, any or all of the following things needs to happen:

1 - Rich Rod sends Jay Hopson to North Korea to obtain nuclear arms. Brings them back. Goes to Purdue. Now we have a true Big Ten again.
2 - We take that big drum and voila.....a new rivalry trophy game
3 - Rich Rod takes the kid Reckman hit to Danny Hope's house at 3am and says, "Hey Woody, are you condoning the hitting of players? Wanna take a shot yourself?"

Why we play the games

We were BAD last year. Can I get someone to agree? Thank You. We still managed to beat Wisconsin (their first loss). Can we do it again. Data, if I could cram it for you, would say NO. But, last year's data would lead to NO as well. So, how did we win? Well, it's like this.

IT JUST HAPPENED

That is why, as they say, we play the games.

BTW, who knows which OSU team will show up? I mean, it will be the rivalry game, but they are not consistent. Although "popular belief" is that we roll over and die the next 2 weeks, I want to see.....

IT JUST HAPPEN...TWICE

Big Bird

Really, what is RR's beef with Big Bird?

3 and 0

imdwalrus had it right. We did beat Wiscy in our worst season EVER. I don't kow how else to qualify a win except with just that. Purdue, well, at least it is a home game and I want to see some payback for that damn hook-&-ladder bullshit from last year. I remember that one play above all else, well except for the Toledo interception. And, OSU, well they did lose their kicker and the backup is horrible. Although, they didn't really need a kicker last year.....yeah.....but...it too is at home and I hate them. Everybody steals and I stole Terrel Pryor's ability to pass more than 5 yards downfield.

We finish 3-0!!(8-4)

But if not, whatever,

GO BLUE TO THE CORE!

I am a retail guy

So I will likely have to work for every Michigan/OSU game on the Saturday following Black Friday. I am going to have to break down and fork over the extra $10/month for the DVR receiver. Oh, and probably no more parties like I am used to as well.

Such is life......

Put Them In

I agree to get them both in there at the same time. With Odoms(healthy) and Denard in at the slots, Jr and Matthews (Stonum) in at wideouts that would slow the pressure down.

***IF***

Denard can prove he is a threat catching the ball. As a D, you would have to respect Denard's feet if he can prove to catch the bubble screen or a jail-break. Then, the dominos fall; pressure eases up on tate; Tate has more time to READ the field; receivers have more time to complete/run routes; Tate makes better throws; Run game opens up with fewer bodies in the box; MINOR RAGE; then back to Denard on the bubble. Minor and Denard (not throwing) need to get 15 - 20 touches per game.

that lunch may get us a win

Maybe, at that lunch, Lloyd gave Rich a few tidbits on ol Joe Pa. Lloyd did own him, and this win would be a huge step forward for the program. Of course I read all the bits on how the two, Rich & Lloyd, may not get along.....but what if they did? Lloyd may have just turned the table in our favor vs PSU this weekend.

please be kind...

I really want no change, but.....

How about if WE left.....lose tons of Big Ten Tradition which would put me in tears. I am also not sure I would like the bowl situation, either. But,
-Could have Independent TV contracts (move over ND and BTN). No worries about IF the game will be televised, it just will be.
-ND Keeps there rivalry games, so could we. And we could schedule as we please, otherwise.
-We could schedule more games in states we wish to recruit from to gain even more exposure, not that we need it but every little bit helps.

Pryor is looking awkward

Pryor is looking just uncomfortable and a little awkward. I give credit to the WR on the TD pass. The coverage was good and it was purely WR vs DB for the ball. TP just got it close enough. And, I love this; the Boo-Birds were out in Columbus. It seemed to be a combination of bad TP play and bad play calling on that particular drive.

Least impressive

I think a blackout is possibly the least impressive of all the _outs. Especially for a night game. I remember watching a South Carolina game where they did the blackout. It was a night game. The aerial shots showed that the stadium looked the same inside and out. So, Iowa, go ahead and do your blackout. It is a night game. We won't see you and will pretend you aren't even there.

Can we play this game in the middle of the forest and have a fatigue-out instead?

Deadliest football team?

You should team up with the computer programmer on the old Spike show "The Deadliest Warrior." Sounds like your data could fit into his program and could attempt to predict a winner. His system could run the simulation of a game 1000 times (just like on the show) and predict the winner based on total win percentage. Of course, you would have to account for all sorts of things like Pass Offense A vs Pass Defense B and account for Pass Defense B's ability to perform based on season data. But, you are the math guy, I'm sure you'd be all over that. I am looking forward to seeing all your posts. Please keep linking your explanations for those of us, ok just me, who might have to read really slow to understand all the #s.

He has OSU fans envying us..

Tate is Impressive, PERIOD! I live and work in Columbus with, of course, tons of OSU fans. I have heard from many that they would love to be able to trade Forcier for Pryor. To invoke QB envy in your #1 rival when they got the super QB prospect just one year earlier, yeah, Tate is the MAN!!

I think that Tate also is able to impact your perception because he is in the most prominent position on the field. Hart was impressive, too. Early....yes. But my vote would go to Tate. The dude is unflappable.

Their offense is not awesome

But, If our offense can't overcome their defensive strengths, their offense will get more shots at us. We got a little bit of luck against MSU by holdig them to only 20 points in regulation. But, I belive that Iowa's O is better than that given the same opportunities we gave MSU. Our offense has to act like the first minutes of the 1st quarter are like the final minutes of the 4th quarter. Go down the field unyielding and with desire.

Premium sites worth it?

With the consistent thoughts about the premium site's databases among other issues I have heard, I have to wonder if they are worth it. I have never subscribed to one, and nothing I have heard here leads me to pursue a subscription. Are any of the premium sites worth it? If so, in what ways would I benefit?

I agree....

I think the best situation is to fix the problem completely(snapping issue). Thus, you take a way a crutch that Dantonio has had for @2 years now. You will make him have to coach better and analyze deeper into the game. I'm confident we would be victorious if we forced him to have to purely out-coach Rich Rod.

However, we should absolutely have a few packages or other "suprises" for our rivals compared to other games. None that could give us a decided disadvantage like a consistently timed snap for all prior games. But, a new variation or 2 on a staple play, new set, or new personnel packages.

Going into the season.....

We all predicted at least one loss. So, here it came today. Why is the sky falling? We are still on our way to a good season. We are going to win some games we thought we might not and we will lose some games we expected to win. Life with freshmen/sophmores. But, they are an awesome bunch of underclassmen. We are gonna take it to Iowa next week.

Go Blue!!!

Kinda OT, but fun

Next time you run across a OSU fan, tell them MSU is our biggest rival and validate it with the "in-state" argument. They bite on that often. I did it once to a random OSU fan sitting at the bar at Applebees where I was picking up my take-out. He left his beer (and tab) behind to tell me how wrong I was all the way to my car. The bartender and a few others were right behind to be sure to collect on their tab. Yeah, that was a fun time.......

Our D is progressing now....

With Roh getting good playing time, Turner likely to compete and could snag the starting role at CB from Cisoko(sp), etc., we are developing our young D. Yes, we will still be young. But, that youth will have some valuable experience. I, personally, think this could be the last "lean" year we endure on D.

I, too, am in Columbus

I have several fellow UM fans around. I make it a point to positively interact with any UM-clad individual I come across. It is almost like an instant brotherhood, of sorts. I always watch my games alone, and usually text my friends during. But my games are being spent grooming the next generation of UM fans; my 3 kids. They saw how excited daddy got after the ND game, and joined in....in a house divided, I will be the victor.

Not had any problem

I beleive I have been a part of the "it goes both ways" thing. I have been in what I would call less-that-energetic sections from time to time. I still stand and cheer, but usually try to check myself so as to not go "overboard" relative to the group around me. A quick glance around usually gives me the indication. I, luckily, have not been subjected to the "down if front" call yet.

Maybe we could all share what sections we've been in that were more energetic, or more tame. This would help random ticket buyers (like myself) to choose appropriate sections, sort of.

5 minutes later......

I am finally done laughing my a$$ off. Seriously, I was trying to be open-minded since only the Big(11)Ten schedule was listed and you never know who might show up. Could be ND, 2 directionals, and....say....Hawaii State(just making that up). So then no losses. Could be USC(home), USC(away), USC(away), USC(home). So only one loss, but that 2nd road game was a nail-biter.

I actually saw

a "Fear the Vest" T-shirt on an OSU fan and instantly I thought of the days when I used to watch Southpark. Specifically, Kenny's mom who always wore the "I'm with Stupid" shirt.

My Mother-in-law

My mother-in-law has used my favorite Michigan coffee cup 4 times to my memory. I remember because it irritates the hell out of me because she is on OSU fan. That's my daily cup! Two of those times were on game day. Last year vs Wisconsin and this year vs Notre Dame. I'm not sure, but I may be going to the city zoning committee to inquire about adding on a mother-in-law's suite. Aghhh...just shoot me.

It'll be coming

I, too, am longing to see the traditional option run. Robinson and Shaw speed coming around the corner is freakin' crazy-scary. But, that sort of play has a much higher risk of turnover (on the pitch). It may be that the traditional option play will be increasingly used as the game experience and play of the QBs progress. I'm sure it is on the horizon, in that part of the offense not yet deployed that R-Rod always refers to. One glimpse (as JediLow states) was during the reverse pitch that went to Odoms for the TD. I watched that play about 50 times just this morning.

Brian, can you maybe do a breakdown of that play for the blocking, lanes, and what other options were present on that play? You know, spell-it-out-for-us kind of thing....

My prediction for 900 +/-

OK, it was too fun to resist. I've got us taking our first shot at win #900 at home vs. Illinois on Nov. 12th, 2011. This assumes an 8 win season this year. 10 wins next year. We win one of the two bowl games (for 2009 or 2010). And only one loss in 2011 prior to the Illinois game.

If we go one win ahead of my schedule, we would be going for number 900 in our next meeting with Minnesota on Nov. 6, 2011. There could be a good story line there since they were 1 of our 3 wins in '08 and the Little Brown Jug, etc.

If we lose 2 more than I expect, we would be on a collision course with OSU, in the BIG HOUSE (for the first time after completed construction) on Nov. 26, 2011.

Gary!

Schadenfreude! Pure. Sweet. Schadenfreude. Seriously, that link caught me way off guard. Thanks.

Not ready to write Vest or Pryor off yet

The game was absolutely lame after the initial energy wore off (not everyone can have Barwis). As far as Pryor, I initially felt like the play calling limited his natural abilities a bit. Then, I thought that he is trying too hard too early to be a pocket-passer. I believe it may be a little of both, but maybe with good reason. Vest's play calling may be plain because it probably has to be. There receiving corps is green, no doubt. Maybe they have issues blocking downfield into the secondary to be able to free Pryor up to run around the ends? Also, the Vest's limited play calling could be insurance (of sorts) to protect his QB - Why? Because their back up is, IMO, OSU's version of Sheridan. As far as progressing to be the pocket-passer, Vince Young and Troy Smith didn't get to this level until Young's Jr. year and Smith's Sr. year. Pryor is just a Soph. Granted, it is his second year starting, but maybe it is still too early for him to be as much of a pocket passer as they have shown. I don't see much transition in the play calling. It just went from one extreme to the other. I remain a little cautious with my optimism, but I think we have one hell of a chance to beat OSU this year. Let them be plain all year long.....GO BLUE!!

Props for the TP reference

Props for the TP reference

My takes

1. Minor is a bad ass!
2. Tate can read a D purty dern good
3. Tate makes quick decisions, and right(mostly)
4. The corners played good against two top tier(or close) WRs. Sure they lost several battles, but that one strip of Tate by Warren was HOT to save a TD.
5. Weis is retarded.....Um, just run the clock you dumb shamu wannabe.
6. STEVIE HAS FOUND HIS NICHE!

And sometimes, when you're Tate.....

You're really f*cking Tate. Can we get Rilo Kiley to do a Michigan Remix?

Gerg the 2nd??

He was clutch twice on that final drive. OMG, that was friggin awesome.

I envy you

I am married and thought what you said was awesome....Drinking beers with no interruption....sweet Utopia!

Wear your Michigan garb

Count how many people throw rocks from the top of parking garages at you, how many USC fans ask who you'll be cheering for, and how many OSU fans ask who you'll be cheering for. That would be sweet confusion. And, when we beat ND, OSU will be looking for an ally. They would hate to be the lone loser on the day...

Sweet justice

So, does anyone else get a kick out of OSUs O-line this year?? I have seen comment after comment and heard several announcers/analysts remark how "off" OSUs o-line is. Navy was getting through that thing all day long. Glad you left, J. Boren(and glad your bro didn't come, too).

Check this article out. Apparently, Justin is the "star" of a dismal unit......I'm OK with that.

http://www.cleveland.com/osu/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/sports/1252571… (go to the 3rd and 4th paragraph)

BTW - OSU 7 (one TP run), USC 42 they may be about on par with talent as last year, but OSU has taken a step back.
