Since Woj was the one who floated that the Blazers were interested, this is as close to certainty as we will get. Great news!

Give him a big extension, though, Warde!

People just don’t understand how strong the the love Coach Harbaugh and Coach Howard have for Michigan is.  They have both turned down money and prestige to coach the school that they love on multiple occasions. This is a unique thing, and a further affirmation that the University of Michigan is a special place.

On a related topic, that same tweet also mentions NBA teams being interested in Penny Hardaway, which is a little strange despite Hardaway being a former NBA superstar. Seems like Hardaway's head coaching tenure has been pretty mediocre at Memphis. He doesn't seem to be accomplishing much despite getting the #1 recruiting class in 2019.

I can’t really think of a reason why this team can’t or won’t win a championship in the next 4-5 years. The tournament is one of toughest gauntlets out there but the pieces are all in place to make Final Fours the norm, if they weren’t already with his predecessor.

Good vibes with this dude!

again - espn has to find 168 hours of programming a week.  part of that includes putting people like woj on the air so that we can participate in a full anal-cavity search of their thoughts and theories.

Coach Howard is already a multi millionaire. He’s an alumni and one of the fab 5. He makes great money from Mich as well. On top of all that, he gets to be with and coach his sons for the next 5-6 years. Why in the world would he ever leave...

Judging from what I’ve heard Juwan say in interviews and press conferences, I think he sees an opportunity to be a mentor to young men, and he feels that a college coaching gig is a great way to give back to the sport that gave him so much. He might very well be a lifer, like Shushevsky or Wooden or Dean Smith.

I still think we’d be naive to assume he doesn’t want to head to the NBA at some point. When his sons cycle through the program, that’s the point where I feel like all bets are off.

But until then, I’m guessing he doesn’t want to go anywhere. But we’re going to need to get used to this. He won the Big Ten outright in year two, was inches away from the Final Four and is bringing the #1 overall class into Ann Arbor this season. He’s poising this town for a national title.

The NBA will be at his door this time every year until all the vacancies are filled.

Great news!  Bad title though.  I nearly had a heart attack skimming the headlines and reading "Woj Bomb! Juwan... Leaving Ann Arbor... NBA."

While I do think there's a very good chance that Juwan will go back to the NBA, I also wouldn't rule him out staying at Michigan for a while. He seems to love the school, connecting with kids, and teaching and he may not want to go back to the NBA. Maybe that's me being an optimist

Roy Williams gone. Coach K is leaving. Boeheim is 76. Izzo is 66. Bill Self and John Calipari have just been treading water recently. I'm not sure if any of that factors into Juwan's thinking, but there's a window for Michigan to become a serious blue chip destination.
