If 2021 is anything like the last time we got a totally jacked RB pic, it's going to be a really, really fun season right up until it suddenly becomes a really, really disappointing season right at the end.

Michigan's running backs room is something even the most cynical fans should feel OK being excited about. Now can the coaches actually get the most out of them? That remains to be seen

I think Jay Harbaugh is a good coach who will be an HC one day. In my mind, the fact that Michigan hasn't had much standout RB play recently is a function of the offense as a whole and its failure to be cohesive and to put its best skill players in situations where they can do the most damage

This would be nice.  Especially considering that the RB's are already pretty good at picking up blitzes and carrying out blocking assignments.  Except for Christian Turner, who never really caught on.  That, and the dropsies that he never really got rid of, kept him off the field.

Pure speculation on my part, but I don’t think he completely recovered from his knee injury. Sometimes it takes a full year or more. Just watch him light up the PAC-12 this year. The MGoDebbieDowners will blame our coaches when really it’s just a matter of a guy getting healthy. I wish him the best.

Honestly I feel the same way. ZC had so much hype (which was deserved from his HS tape) but man he always looked so stiff out there and didn't have that lateral mobility. Haskins has just an innate evasiveness to him.

I will miss his pass blocking tho. He was by far the best pass blocker out of the room

I was always a fan of ZC and was sorry to see him go. After the AL bowl game where I thought he looked very good, we returned to our usual habit of not allowing any running back more than 7 carries a game (a little exageration on my part).

ZC got stronger as the game went on vs. AL and I really thought he would be the guy the next year. Most good running backs seem to get better with more carries during a game. We seem to have a "carry count", much like a pitch count in baseball.

Hopefully he’s retained agility. Which, with a professional staff, I’m sure he has (stretching/yoga/balance workouts). He for sure has come a mile in strength. He’s probably about 215 in that photo - even at 5’ 8”. Absolute beast but I hope he’s not tight from lifting and kept agility as part of his plan.

I have been excited about our RB room often in recent years. So much talent.

Here's to hoping we get the most out of them this year!!

Kids always had a great build and was rumored to be a workout nut in HS so it's not surprising he's looking jacked!  I hope he has a great season.  But, it's also a bit of a challenging spot to be in for UM.  We've got so many holes like DT, CB, & QB that we don't know if anyone is any good.  But, we already know Haskins is our #1 and we also know we want see Edwards get some snaps.  I hope Corum doesn't become the odd man out.  And, I also hope we're able to keep both Corum & Edwards around if Haskins decides to come back for his Covid year.  We haven't had the best luck holding onto highly ranked recruits like Edwards if they aren't playing early.

Except for a question mark at center, the OL should be fine.   At tackle: Hayes, Barnhart and Stueber all have experience and I think it is reasonable to assume that between the three we can find two quality tackles.   At guard, the loser in the tackle battle should slot into one of the guard spots and between Zinter, Filagia and Keegan, we should be fine at the other guard spot.    The question is, can one of the potential guards or Vastardis step up at center?

As long as he isn't sacrificing quickness for bulk, fine. You run primarily with your legs, not your biceps.

Don, opposing players should have a hard time taking the ball away from him... unless his bicep is so big he can't get the ball to fit comfortably. I joke, but I'm a little serious. Could huge biceps make securing the ball more difficult?
