What are you doing for The Game?

Submitted by Steve Lorenz on

Got a keg of 312 and another of Bell's Winter White. Double flat screens in the pole barn with dual beer pong tables and ping pong table. Started the fire about an hour ago and things are ready to go! Go Blue!

Sounds like a hell of a day for you, sir. For me, seeing how I am already hungover at 7:46am, it leaves me no choice but to get back on that horse with some Bells Two Hearted. As for the game, nothing too special - this is one I will enjoy alone in front of my 42 inch in my living room.

I will be at UofM Hospital.  My uncle had his esophogus removed last week and doesn't get released until next week so we will be watching the game in his room.  I am actually looking foward to it as no matter how the football team does (although I am expecting a win) I will still have a reminder of what UofM is REALLY known for.  His Dr. pioneered the procedure and is still the world's best at it.  Leaders and Best.

With my dad at my house because his 55' doesnt compare to my 65".  Who has also been gracious enough to keep the 4 season tickets since '83 despite moving to NY in '89.  Go dad and Go Blue from Rochester, NY!

I'm hosting a U of M football party here in Cleveland.  I just bought a 63" Samsung HD Plasma with a 500 watt Denon head deck and killer Definitive Technologies sound bar (they're awesome).  I stocked the fridge with Dogfish 60 & 90, Dos Equis Dark and Great Lakes Christmas Ale.  The wife got up at 5:30 and started slow cooking beef for Philly Cheesesteak sandwhiches on fresh bread she's making right now.  And I invited 6 of the most OBNOXIOUS OSU fans I know to come over and watch the game with me.

I think we're gonna win.

Going to Tavern in the Square for the game. It's the alumni bar in the Greater Boston area. I don't  know what sort of turn out it will have and what time I should get there.

Or I might stay at home.

Navy sailor here loving every minute of shore duty, so home is where my favorite place to watch the game is....much better watching it on my 53" Vizio on HD than hoping AFN is carrying it, hoping the TVDTS system is up and working, and the ship is on the right bearing so as not to be in a block zone, grrrr. Oh, and hoping some douche isn't watching something else in the tv lounge, when I want to see THE game....

Kind of boozed out after the past few days, may be just som Blue Moon, and leftover turkey sandwiches, turkey soup, and whatever else I can think of making with turkey.

The bottled water and Eight O'clock brand coffee has been flowing all morning, so I'm feeling fine. I'll watch what I can from the breakroom. Back home I got a bottle of Kendall-Jackson merlot to either bask in the victory with or drown my sorrows following a loss.

Sitting in front of my 55 inch plasma alone.  Just cannot watch big M football games in the presence of others, under the risk of them wanting to speak to me about anything, including the game.  100% concentration on the game.

I will be watching from work where I will see repetitive suckeye fans come through hopefully with sad faces. If not this could be a long day, price I pay for living in ohio. But at least I can watch the game on like 8 different tv's.

He parents thought it would be a good idea to bring her grandma over for her 80th birthday on gameday.  They should arrive around mid 1st quarter where I will be just settling in on a good buzz courtesy of Guinness.  They will come in and ooh and ahhh about our new house while I will be screaming like an animal at the TV.  Her parents will understand as they know better than to bother me on gamedays (yet they still do all the time), but grandma might be terrified.  Then, probably around half, they will leave to go to lunch and ask the inevitable stupid question, "are you coming to lunch with us?", then I will just look back with the that was a stupid question look and they will leave and probably think I am the worst person ever for not going on her 80th birthday.  Then, they will return right about the time the game ends where I will drunk and happy after the first Michigan victory over OSU in 7 years and we will all have cake and sing happy birthday.

Going to be a great day!!!!!

.........without the wife, which is the first time in two weeks this will happen. What it means is that I can spend all my energy and concentration on the game without having to be interrupted.

Across the pond in England here. Just finished a game for my University team which we won 50 odd - 0. Had a solid game. Now off to the pub where the game is shown on ESPN America. All my teammates will be supporting OSU just to piss me off so it will be unbelievable if we can  pull this off. Either way I will be getting drunk tonight. Go Blue!
