David Gilmour's solo from the PULSE version of Comfortably Numb!

Tackling

... teach them to tackle with their heads down and lead with their helmets? I'd prefer to have my defensive players have movement in all of their extremities after tackling, thanks.

Currently in Shanghai, China.

Currently in Shanghai, China. Will be watching the game at a bar on replay with a couple other Michigan alums and mgoblog fans.

Shout out from China!

I'm in China for the time

I'm in China for the time being, and I've been trying to catch Michigan games by either

1) going to bars that show college football here. Usually it's on tape delay (there's a 12 hour time difference so games are at 3AM on Sunday morning here). your best bet is to contact someone from the alumni association. Maybe there will be a bar that shows the game, if not, maybe someone owns a slingbox and they will be showing the game at someone's house.

2) do you have comcast? if so, you can access ESPN3 with your comcast account anywhere in the world I believe

3) do you have a vpn? if not, use the umich vpn (search for it online) and use it so all your internet traffic is rerouted through Ann Arbor. This way, you can watch streams such as justin.tv, espn3, etc.

4) streamtorrent

Drove my housemate to the Sprint store this morning and he got the phone. I played around with the store demo for around an hour and was very impressed

I've had:

HTC Touch Pro (Windows Mobile = death)

Currently using a Blackberry Tour - functional but not really fun

The Evo seemed like the perfect blend of form and function, but it was a little too big for my tastes. I found out that I'm a premier customer so I'm eligible for 2 years upgrades every year, so I might head back and get the phone soon.

Sprint is dirt cheap compared to AT&T and Verizon. My plan, Everything 450 includes unlimited mobile to mobile, data, and texts for like 50 bucks after taxes. My friend's comparable iPhone plans are all 90+

I believe Locke is implying I believe Locke is implying that this world that Jack is in isn't real, since the flash-sideways is "purgatory" or whatever you want to call it. In the real world, where Jack died on the island, he didn't have a son.
I think the producers did

I think the producers did such an amazing job on the ending that it made me forget about some pressing issues, such as:

wtf is the Island anyways? What is the origin of the Island? The producers seemed to have glossed over some of intricacies of the story, but they crafted a beautiful ending so that we would forget about these details haha

From what I

From what I understand:

Flight 815 crashed, and everyone didn't die. Everything that happened in our normal timeline, the island, leaving, the Oceanic 6, going back to the Island, these things all occured. When Jack dies at the end of the finale, he dies, and waits to go to heaven. Meanwhile, the people who escaped, we can assume that they went on to live their lives and will eventually die (Kate, Miles, etc).
This is why Christian Shepard tells Jack that he is dead, along with everyone else in the church and that they died in different times. The last scene in the church, along with the flash-sideways timeline is all from Jack's point of view. It is Jack's heaven, and the church is what Christian said, somewhere for them all to reunite before moving on to the afterlife, because the time they shared on the Island (which was real) was the most important time in their lives.

However, the show did not explain a lot of loose ends, and from I understand, the creators aren't planning to reveal anything in the next couple months, leaving us to debate about the details.

Brandon Moore?

Brandon Moore?

And this is why I've stopped

And this is why I've stopped watching all of ESPN's coverage of the draft and started watching NFL Network. Mike Mayock has to be one of the most on point talent evaluators I've seen, and everyone on that show is there because they either offer expert analysis or because they offer comic relief.

So this makes Zambrano

So this makes Zambrano available to pinch hit, right?

We ran the speed option first

We ran the speed option first against Iowa last year I believe. It was the play that got the Daily in trouble and then made RR install more practice spying countermeasures. I believe it was the Daily (correct me if I'm wrong) that described the play in the practices leading up to the Iowa game.

What I would give to see Hart

What I would give to see Hart run a zone stretch in a Michigan uniform one more time . . .

Maybe I should go find him on South U and ask him? Creepy? No?

I believe MGoRob is correct.

Is there also a rule that transfers are forbidden from receiving a scholarship from a school within the conference, regardless of if the coach gives the release?

Out of the

Out of the Freep/DetNews/AnnArbor.com/ESPN, Rittenberg has got to be my favorite journalist covering Michigan Football right now. He has some lapses in reason, but most of the time he is pretty impartial and corrects his mistakes, which is more than I can say for the other 3 outlets.

Jackson and Miller

I see Ricardo and Jeremy together on campus all the time and Jeremy is clearly an inch or more taller than Ricardo is, even though Ricardo is listed as taller.

Equipment

As a football equipment/gear freak, it's cool to see that more Wolverines have adopted the new Revo Speed helmet. Looks sweet!

On a completely unrelated

On a completely unrelated Demar note, I'm sitting at home and my window is open, and a car just came down my street bumpin' Wocka Flocka Flame.

Maybe Demar is here to pay Birkett a visit?

Yeah, I absolutely

Yeah, I absolutely understand. I just hope that the coaches potentially adding the midline would mean that Tate and Denard have progressed to a point where they are handling the zone read better and so the coaches think they can handle the midline.

Midline

Midline is explosive, as evidenced by Oregon's breakout games where they average 300+ rushing yards a game or something equally ridiculous.

HOWEVER, we have seen that Tate and Denard do not even run the zone option perfectly or anything approaching that, and I would think that the midline is a quicker read to make. They struggled all year making the read on the end. Watching Oregon from this year, it is clear how experienced Masoli is at running the midline and zone read (yes, I know he is a RS Senior now).

We all have heard that Denard was a single wing QB in high school, so hopefully with a year of experience and another spring's worth of practice, we can successfully run a multitude of run looks next year - the zone read, triple option, midline, veer, and the speed option we unveiled at Iowa.

China

I read this article a couple days ago, and being Chinese, it kind of offended me . . . It's a pretty bold claim made by a major company CEO that a whole country's morals are predicated upon infidelity and lasciviousness.

Some scouts/coaches like to

Some scouts/coaches like to trust their own times instead of the electronically timed 40's. Who knows why? I guess it's just because that people timed 40's by hand before the advent of electronic timing, and people used to compare stopwatches with each other at the finish. I think there's an element of human error in the electronic timing as well, as the timer starts when when the runner chooses to start and not on a gun. This means that the person who starts the timer is also limited by his reaction time.

NCAA has nothing to put the proverbial fire under its ass in order to keep it cutting edge. I love NCAA, and will probably buy it again thing year, but sometimes it bugs me how lazy an effort NCAA seems like.

Not a real football player

Did anyone see Eisen and Mayock arguing about Boston College and Michigan? Eisen said that Michigan had 3 players invited, which was one more than BC, but Mayock asserted that Zoltan "wasn't really a football player"

Although he offers excellent draft analysis, I fully expect Zoltan to strike him down after the combine.

I just got back into this

I just got back into this game after getting my PS3 fixed. I love playing NCAA10 and I obsess about the roster a little too much. Throughout the course of the season, I must have restarted my dynasty with Michigan like 10 times because I had to uprate people when they had a good game, and then of course, the next game they had to stink it up so I had to restart my dynasty in order to downrate them.

If you would like accurate PS3 rosters, download then from me. gamertag is Praetor951. I downloaded a pretty accurate roster and then made some changes of my own. Tate is an 83, with decent speed and agility, average throw power and good accuracy. Denard is a 77 or 78, with 93 speed, high agility and acceleration. Good throw power but terrible accuracy as you can imagine. Because the roster only has 69 spots, I cleaned the 2-deep for linemen and removed some 5th year seniors in order to add Lewan, Schofield, and Washington.

The defense was a little harder, but there really isn't an accurate way to put our defense in the game. I do a 3-4 with Mike Martin/Sagesse/Big Will as DT and BG and RVB as opposite DE's opposite each other. Mouton and Ezeh are MLBs, and the LOLB position being the Spinner occupied by Stevie Brown. Roh/Herron are the ROLBs at rush linebacker. CB is Warren/Woolfolk/Floyd/Teric Jones, which is sort of innacurate because I had to RS JT Turner. We didn't play a whole lot of nickel in real life but not playing nickel/dime will kill you in NCAA10. Mike Williams is the FS and Kovacs is the lone SS.

Anyways, I always like to create some of our best recruits too. For my dynasty that I just started a week ago, I'm recruiting Robinson/Gardner/Dorsey/Miller/Furman/Hagerup/Christian. It's hard to not be biased and make them super-recruits in the game haha.

I like Auburn's playbook a lot too, which is a pretty interesting spread offense. It has some under center, but most are shotgun spread plays. There is also some wildcat, which is somewhat unstoppable and pretty unrealistic but so fun to run. I like Auburn's playbook because it includes formations with the TE as a sort of H-back, which is what we ran and passed out of earlier in the year, and has some speed option which I hope we'll utilize more (like we broke out against Iowa)

Sorry for the wall of text, but hope you enjoy the game!

I had an opportunity to

I had an opportunity to shadow the head athletic trainer in Lloyd's last year here. I went to Schembechler hall and watched a practice. I got to meet a couple players, but the one that struck me the most was Antonio.

He was rehabbing his injury, it seemed like he was the life of the party in the training room. All of the kinesiology students who worked in the training room seemed to love him, and I was a super shy freshman in the football training room (!!!) then, and he definitely made me feel welcome. As opposed to some of the players who were super cocky, he was really open and outgoing guy. I sort of knew who he was, but just assumed that it was just a particularly nasty knee injury and he would rehab and be back in the fall. No idea that his career would end like that.

Wish him all the best!

My PS3 stopped reading discs

My PS3 stopped reading discs a couple of months ago and I repaired it myself. Though the problem isn't exactly the same as the yellow light problem, you can open your PS3 by yourself to retrieve the game. All you is a torx screwdriver, a regular philips, and a set of small eyeglass screwdrivers. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube. Open the case, unplug the drive, and unscrew the drive. Open the drive and there is your disc!

The yellow light problem can be fixed too, just find someone with a reflow station on craigslist to fix it. Maybe this person will even get your disc back for too because you need to open the PS3 to get to the motherboard.

Cameron Gordon

Wait, so did Vlad confirm that Cameron Gordon is still a receiver?

started playing it about 3

started playing it about 3 weeks before finals and put about 30 hours into it. i stopped playing it around finals, and then got a new computer and haven't installed it yet. it was fantastic though, and is worth every penny.

I know Mora was fired today

I know Mora was fired today and Carroll was probably being courted before Mora was officially let go, but doesn't this remind you of Les Miles to Michigan?

Agreed. Easterbrook used to be an awesome columnists. I appreciated his wit, but now his column is just useless stats, political/science/economic pieces that he shouldn't dabble in, and cheap shots at coaches/celebrities that he retreads every week.
