My friend in the US saw this, recognized my username, and donated on my behalf before midnight! Go Blue!

I love this team, they’ve brought me so much joy. I tried to donate $100, but it appears the site is blocking me because I’m in Saudi Arabia. Then with a VPN on it won’t process the transaction using any of their payment options. I’ll have to wait until I’m back in the US, unfortunately.

Appreciate you sharing a relevant and somewhat amusing article by Thamel, but your speculation about DiNardo is wild. Nine years ago he said taping signals is not ok, and because he was in A2 for his very public job last year he’s a suspect in the current practice taping rumors? Am I missing something?

Middle Kingdom. The best American Chinese food ever.

In my opinion finding a great Chinese restaurant based on reviews is much more difficult than most cuisines. Some people want American-style dishes and some want “authentic” fare, so a certain percentage of customers almost always leaves disappointed.

It’s my wedding anniversary today, what a gift! I’m sure my wife will be just as excited as I am.

Brian, I think you’re the most meaningful person in my life that I’ve never met. My wife just had our first child earlier this month, and I can’t imagine what you’re going through. Thank you for sharing your writing with us for all these years, and I hope you find peace regardless of what it means for this site.

UM 34-24

UM 34-24

Kickoff is 2am here in Seoul

We've been watching old Ohio games all day.  Time for Game Day now.

I'm curious

Is Pacific Rim any good?

Herbstreit called RGIII a

Herbstreit called RGIII a "class act."  I found this amusing (anyone else watch The League?)

I was expecting this to be stupid

But instead it's kind of awesome.  Nice work.

Hmm

In the videos posted so far the coaches are all wearing that shirt. Sure seems like it's him...

He was listed at 247 in his Hello post, there's no way that's good weight

There are several board

There are several board members in Korea, we should all go to one of his games. I live in Seoul, and there are two KBL teams here, so Sims should come here more than once. My roommate from UM is here too, we've already begun planning to make signs for the game.

As for the KBL, I've only seen a couple games, but from what I've watched the quality of play is not good. Pretty bad, actually; I'm fully expecting Sims to dominate.

Not sure if this will help, but it seemed relevant

Congrats, Brian!

Congrats, Brian!

Anyone have a streaming link?

Espn3 does not work in South Korea, and I can't find a link to stream ESPN for some reason

TiVo + Slingbox

This won't help now, but as an option in the future: link

Good link, but...

I'm shure hoping that was a typo

Also in the future

2011 in Bali, the year is starting off on the right foot. Unfortunately my flight back to Korea completely overlaps with the game, so I will be on information lockdown until I can download the game and watch it on my computer

I am in the future

It's 2011 in Bali too, and don't worry, the future is good.

UM Transplant Center

I worked in the Transplant Center all four years I was in school, and it's an amazing place. The amount of work put in at every level is astounding; there I met some of the hardest working people I've ever known. Organ donation is an amazing gift, you really might save someone's life just by filling out a form. In my four years I spoke to hundreds of people waiting on their transplant, many lonely or depressed, but a surprising number of them were cheerful and optimistic. Organ transplants have a stigma surrounding them that most branches of medicine don't have to deal with, like the idea that doctors will let you die if you're an organ donor, or that all people who need transplants are alcoholics. These are far from the truth, and it's brightened my week to see such a successful donor drive this year. Hail to the leaders and best!

Asia ftw

Seoul, South Korea, I can't wait for the replay though. I'll be watching the 2am start on my computer with a friend. Go Blue!!

A fellow alum and I teach

A fellow alum and I teach kindergarten here in Seoul, and we're considering teaching the kids the Victors in music class. There's a talent show every month, but we're stuck with a Christmas theme for December. They are reading a story about a moose right now, so today we tried teaching them the Bullwinkle dance we used to do at Yost

At a hotel dinner buffet in South Korea:

Have you ever experienced that special moment, when you see someone across a crowded room? Your eyes meet, and you've never met but you know there is a bond between you, something you both share. "Yes, I did go to the University of Michigan, and you sir, are wearing a glorious shirt"

I don't see anything on his Facebook page. (That's him, right?)

I realize that people

I realize that people expected a bit too much from Big Will as a true freshman, and we seem to be showing some restraint this year (I'll admit I'm disappointed he's not contributing more), but if he's not starting or getting significant playing time as a 3rd year player, I think he's a bust as far as 5 star recruits go. I'm hoping that's not the case, though, and the real point I want to make is that the projected D-line in 2011 will hopefully include him in the regular rotation.

In the secondary, I would like to see a second corner emerge from this year's freshman, and be able to move Woolfolk back to safety next year. I'd like to see Cam on the field still, he's shown he can tackle well for the most part, but no matter how much he improves Cam won't have Woolfolk's speed.

Jack Miller x2, sans Kinard

I'm pretty sure no one updates that site anymore

Zero riots in the last 365 days? No one believes that, c'mon

Ash still has the weight issue

6'3" 320lbs, coming out of high school we can assume a lot of that is bad weight. He's one I'll be keeping an eye on when the updated spring rosters are released and subsequently overanalyzed

I'm in Gangnam, near Seocho,

I'm in Gangnam, near Seocho, actually on the same subway line that runs through Yeouido (line 9, 10 stops east). I haven't seen any fellow mgobloggers here that I know of, a few UM grads though. I do know there are several of us in Korea/Japan, like BlueSeoul and Boyz n da Pahokee (I think). I've thought about throwing up the Bat Signal in a diary, arranging a Korean MGoTailgate for a game sometime, but I've yet to act on it

Chris Rucker

They actually have two Chris Ruckers on their team, middle initials D. and L. Both are CBs, too

Missed that

The Vietnam reference threw me off. I'm not sure if it was actually a joke though, as the OP has been removed now

I realize a logical reply is pointless, but...

Michigan QBs go nowhere. If I flip on the TV tonight, where are the Michigan quarterbacks going to be? M.I.A.

This is too funny. If you literally flip on the TV tonight, you will see 2 Michigan QBs starting for their respective NFL teams, one of whom has 3 Super Bowl rings. One of their back ups? MSU product Hoyer

I don't think it works like that

Assuming we have the ball 8 minutes more thanks to our offense's drives taking more time means the end of the game is moved up 8 minutes, that time isn't just taken away from Indiana. Indiana had the ball with 10:33 left in the game down 7, and punted with under 9 minutes left. Instead, if there was under 1 minute remaining, they would have attempted the 4th down conversion and possibly scored to tie the game.

While I agree with you, TOP still matters, and 98 plays to 45 is not good for our team, changing this is the defense's job. This offense is built to score as many points as possible, and they absolutely should not change anything. If the opportunity for a TD materializes, you take it immediately, you never count on being able to do it in a couple minutes anyway. Indiana had 4 TD drives over 5 minutes, meaning those 4 drives total more time than we had the ball all game. Our defense needs to force more 3 and outs (only one against IU), and become capable of interrupting an offense in rhythm. Mike Martin's sack early in the 4th quarter prevented IU from moving forward on that drive, which ended up at 12 plays for 50 yards. I'd like to see more of that going forward
