If the thread title doesn't speak to you, well.....The mere thought of it should bring a huge smile to your face.  the Don running wild and free for 75 and 85 yard runs amidst weeping fans at the Shoe

That's a great image. And... they were favored by 9?! Yeah, we have the benefit of hindsight now, but even at the time that was ridiculous. It's not like they had been so great all season that they were likely to beat us easily, which is what that line implies.

Conveniently BTN aired a replay of the game right after a rerun of the spring game last night so I got to re-live it in all its gloriousness.

Was like watching it right before Moody kicked the last extra point.  Felt good man.

I want a job cutting the grass in Newton, Ohio. I will mow 14 lawns a day, six days a week, plus my own lawn on my day off. The lawns will all be on the same street. Somebody will think I have Italian heritage, and be convinced I'm with the Mafia. Some people might prefer a life that's WIDE OPEN, but I'd he happy as the Don going 85 yards straight through the heart of Ohio.

One little thing...   A lot of people - and that may be a group that notes / possibly celebrates "Pi Day" - which is March 14th - 3.14.   If you remember your geometry, or physics, "Pi" is a memorable symbol and figure.

This day - April 5th 2023 - puts an even bigger smile on my face.

We observe a traditional celebration at home but enjoy meeting with friends for more contemporary festivities in public.

I've re-watched the game more than once.   Each time the moment that gets me the most is the tipped-to-Upshaw interception when we can hear the crowd let out a collective "NOOOOOOO!", knowing they've lost.  It's beautiful.

Similarly, that moment in 2021 is Haskin's final TD when OSU defenders have either completely given up or are intentionally letting him walk in so they can get the ball back.  Either way, it's Victory.
