Josiah Stewart Is the3rd ranked DE/EDGE per ON3 rankings in the portal now is down to UM and USC with plans to visit both this weekend. He fits the Uche mold in terms of build/style of play.

Appears to have eliminated LSU and likely to make a decision shortly after this weekend.
December 15th, 2022 at 3:05 PM ^
Well if he's down to UM I like our odds.
December 15th, 2022 at 3:06 PM ^
Just one hat on the table sort of kills the drama though
December 15th, 2022 at 3:10 PM ^
Unless it's one of them Russian Stacking Hats.
December 15th, 2022 at 3:11 PM ^
Not gonna lie, that would be a baller way to announce...
December 15th, 2022 at 3:57 PM ^
I imagine this ending with the player putting on shot-glass-sized fez before cheering loudly.
December 16th, 2022 at 12:19 AM ^
The visual of this is outstanding.
Could you imagine a 330 lb DL doing this, putting on a fez, complete with the little tassel like the Shriners with in the parades? The comedic value would be through the roof.

Traveling to California and Michigan in the same weekend? I guess he's not flying commercial/coach.
December 15th, 2022 at 3:19 PM ^
Or he is getting ready for big ten in a year!
December 15th, 2022 at 4:52 PM ^
Pack a swimsuit and a snowsuit.
December 15th, 2022 at 5:40 PM ^
And thats just for his California visit.

“The coldest Winter I ever spent was a Summer in San Francisco.”
December 15th, 2022 at 7:20 PM ^
Lol. That’s a lot like how I’ve been colder living in Florida than I ever have been in Michigan winters.
December 15th, 2022 at 10:20 PM ^
LA is not SF in so many ways to include weather.
December 15th, 2022 at 10:25 PM ^
Alas, not a Mark Twainism. His actual line closest to this was in a letter where he quoted a British actor and wit, James Quin (1693–1766), who, when asked if he had ever seen so bad a winter, replied, ‘Yes, just such an one as last summer!’ Noby had heard of Quinn so the story morphed into a Twain saying about San Francisco instead of a Quinn saying about Winchester.
December 16th, 2022 at 9:15 AM ^
Aw, you had to go and spoil it. LOL
December 15th, 2022 at 3:07 PM ^
He's down to UM? How deliciously suspenseful.
December 15th, 2022 at 3:07 PM ^
Good sign for Michigan he eliminated LSU. It will be interesting to see if Michigan can beat USC for him.
December 15th, 2022 at 3:19 PM ^
So can I assume Harbaugh has better grinding moves than Brian Kelly?
December 15th, 2022 at 4:10 PM ^
Hopefully your wife is on the older end of that 15-30 range.
December 15th, 2022 at 4:15 PM ^
53. This was us at a bar in Indy a few weeks ago.
December 15th, 2022 at 4:22 PM ^
Well she looks 30, congrats. Is that the Yard House? I was there for an hour or 4.
December 15th, 2022 at 4:25 PM ^
It was the Yard House. We had dinner there Friday night and then came back to watch the World Cup match and the first half of the TCU game on Saturday.
Good call on your part - we probably ran into each other and didnt know it.
Oh, one more thing. Saturday night after the game was over we're walking back to our hotel and I notice that Wolverine Devotee is posting pictures from the stadium on Twitter. I look at the pictures and realize he had to be sitting in my section (or damn near it) because his view and my view were practically identical. Note - he was in 445 and I was in 444. Small world.
December 15th, 2022 at 4:38 PM ^
Probably just missed you. My wife arrived in town around 2 and walked straight to the Yard House from the Marriott. Didn't bother trying to get a table so we just stood around the bar. We were starving around 5 and had to leave to find food which was difficult.
December 15th, 2022 at 5:43 PM ^
OMG what a stunner! The Mrs. aint too bad either. Great pic!
December 15th, 2022 at 6:56 PM ^
Punching above your weight, pal. Good for you.
December 15th, 2022 at 4:31 PM ^
a) blossom is ONLY good in the "field." Saw the black crowes from row 12 and the sound under that wooden dome was brutal. as soon as you got out into the grass it sounded great
b) getting in and out of blossom is 10x worse than pine knob. i know a ton of folks in the area who simply refuse to go to concerts there.
c) good job on keeping your eyes to yourself. not sure i could have done that
December 15th, 2022 at 4:54 PM ^
Blossom is also good at selling $14 cans of beer. Just sayin.
The trick I found of getting out of there without spending 90 minutes parked is to leave mid way through the first encore depending on the set list.
December 15th, 2022 at 5:41 PM ^
I think every city has an outside venue that's really shitty, but OUTSIDE, so totally worth the extra money for everything. In these parts, it's the Tinley Park venue. The acoustics are shit. I went to a Who show there about 20 years ago and couldn't understand a word that the band said between songs.
December 15th, 2022 at 6:11 PM ^
For MgoDroids in the Michigan area who like semi-outdoors venues, I heartily recommend the Interlochen center for performing arts just south of Traverse City. Great, varied lineup all summer plus a state park right across the street. Sound is outstanding.
Mgrow has a spouse worth hanging onto, but I knew that from his old avatar.

You are 63. You can get away with it. We are harmless at this age. And just who is your wife looking at? You got Mossed.
December 16th, 2022 at 10:59 AM ^
This is where mirrored sunglasses work best. Speaking as a fellow old man (55), but I have never tried this stunt.
December 15th, 2022 at 3:07 PM ^
Hmmm. Deceiving title.
December 15th, 2022 at 3:15 PM ^
But USC doesnt coach defense. Should be an easy choice for the kid...
insert...Lincoln Riley (evil smile)
December 16th, 2022 at 9:18 AM ^
Yeah. Feels like a stark choice, doesn't it.
December 15th, 2022 at 3:17 PM ^
It seems like about a year ago, those folks at USC enticed a receiver from Pitt to head out west, via the portal - to join the Trojans.
However, there is one big difference - Josiah Stewart plays defense. My recent viewing of USC's play would indicate that defense is something that they not only don't "practice", or - if they do - it's certainly not something they "play" during a game.
Wishing him well as he reaches his decision.
December 15th, 2022 at 6:15 PM ^
To look at it a different way, he could see that juggernaut of an offense and be like "Wow, imagine if I went to that team and MADE THE DEFENSE GREAT ALL BY MYSELF. Maybe I'm what they need to get them over the top! We'd be champions!"
Just a thought he might be having. Plus don't forget Shaun Nua is their D-Line coach. Guy turned out to be a pretty good at his job after Don Brown left.
December 15th, 2022 at 3:19 PM ^
When you say USC, do you mean Southern Cal or South Carolina?
December 15th, 2022 at 3:25 PM ^
Souther cal
December 15th, 2022 at 3:20 PM ^
Your headline is more optimistic than the body of your post.
December 15th, 2022 at 3:20 PM ^
I said it in another thread - UM has a top 20 2023 recruiting class right now. They have signed 2 reevaluated 4 stars from the portal already. Josiah would be a 3rd.
Add Jyaire Hill, Nick Harbor and transfer Fentrell Cypress.....thats a REALLY GOOD class.
December 15th, 2022 at 4:19 PM ^
It does not sounds like we will get Fentrell Cypress.
December 15th, 2022 at 4:34 PM ^
Tony grimes it is then
December 15th, 2022 at 4:56 PM ^
Maybe even Duck Storm
December 15th, 2022 at 3:21 PM ^
Another tidbit, we are pretty big favorites for transfer TE from Indiana, AJ Barner. Of note, he was selected as a team captain there and is a true junior.
December 15th, 2022 at 3:36 PM ^
We own all the team captains.
December 15th, 2022 at 3:43 PM ^
wellllllllll........
