Student Section - defend yourselves

Submitted by Beaublue on November 12th, 2022 at 10:52 PM

By the start of the third quarter maybe half of you were gone.   By the fourth quarter 2/3 of you were gone and by the end of the game how many were left?  Maybe 300?

This is the level of support you put out for your team?   Pathetic in my opinion.   They used to have some competition for best student fan section.   You guys wouldn't make the cut.

What was it?   A little snow get you down?  I hear college kids have to bring their dog to college now.  Did you have to leave to let Fluffy out for a dump?   They have brought in entertainment to deal with your lack of attention span.  Are you not entertained by the 100 yard dash, the MC, the DJ?  Most of you couldn't even stick around for Mr. Brightside.

The team busts their butt for most of the year to get to where they are today.   Sad that their fellow students can't stick around to show they appreciate it.

10-0 team and only one more home game of the season before you have to wait until next September.

I don't care what the weather is...we better pack that place next week.

Uh college students have more interesting things to do than watch a blowout. I know that I would have left to drink a keg instead of freezing my ass off in the bleachers.

First of all,  I am not an old person.   Evidently MGoBoard thinks that only two types of people attend Michigan football games:  students and old people.

I watched the replay on TV - ABC did everything it could to avoid showing the empty student section.   Not a good look.

I guess I was under the mistaken impression that Michigan fans were passionate about their team.  It isn't every year that you get to support (or in this case, not support) a 10-0 team.

Interestingly despite all the heat I'm getting for pointing out the obvious, posters aren't really defending leaving a game at halftime rather than staying and supporting your team.

FWIW I’m an old person who thinks this post is beyond ridiculous.  And I can assure you that if we had smart phones from 78-81 when I was sitting in that section the pics of the stands at the end of shitty weather blowout games would look EXACTLY the same as yesterday’s did.

It’s just my fellow geriatric doesn’t accurately remember little details like that anymore.

Bullshit MGrow. I was there then and we stayed. You forget that we could bring alcohol in, and we passed the cheerleaders to the top of the stadium over our heads, and we partied like no tomorrow. You can snow some people but quit lying. There are plenty of videos to disprove you.  Also, friend, most games, almost ALL of them, started at 1pm.I don't blame these kids at all for leaving, but the students back then (US) actually could party in the stadium. So we stayed.

I hate to be the one to prove you wrong since I in fact left early and am here. In my defense, watching a blowout while freezing my ass off after walking around drunk in the snow for 4 hours before hand was not my top priority. I went and watched the rest nice and warm under a blanket at home.

I left after the 3rd quarter, but in my defense, I'm almost 50 and I was with my daughter and it was a long drive back to Chicago and now I think I'm sick after sitting through the snow in the first quarter.

Please don't hamblast me, op...
