Speight availability for bowl game?

Submitted by Sauce Castillo on

I haven't seen this brought up at all so apologies if I missed it, but what is the story on Wilton's availability against FSU?  Is his injury something that will be healed (somewhat) before the bowl game or is it something that requires him to shut it down to ensure he is ready to go for spring ball and next season?

Don't let that scare you though. He is going to play. In other news now that the season is over. Both Wanglers have been suspended and are out indefinitely. FSU has more to worry about than us. They have at least five that are questionable for the Orange Bowl and that include WR Da'Vante Phillips and 4 on defense.

the help and information you have. Some will ask you about the Wanglers, I won't, they are suspended, doesn't matter to me why. I'm more interested in Moe Ways, Harbaugh seemed to be chatting him up a little bit before the season started. He was clearly passed by Kekoa on the depth chart. Will he be sticking around or could he be a departure?

that makes me sad for Moe Ways :(  He had that great photo from the Ford Field practice (I think) where there was a kid looking up to him and he commented something about how it's surreal to have grown up dreaming of being the M player and now to actually be the one getting looked up to....  :-\

(yes, yay for competition and the cream rising to the top and all that, but still, makes me sad for the player who gets left behind)

I won't jump down your throat either but I am curious why it would be a question? He was healthy enough to play a 2OT game entirely without missing a play, a month before the bowl game. I didn't question in my own mind if he would be available I guess.

I'll just slit it and leave you to die for this obviously terrible, terrible thread. ( /s... too many people not jumping down throats here. had to switch it up)

Have it on good authority that Speight is actually transferring to Florida State and will be eligible to start for the Noles in the Orange Bowl. So technically, everyone in this thread is right about him playing, but he's actually playing for the opposition.

think he will be fine for the bowl.  The BIG title game would have likely been injured Speight, which makes it questionable that we would have beat Wisconsin even if we did with The Game. That is one of my coping mechanisms, it was not guaranteed even if we won in Columbus.

tried that but I don't believe it (assuming a healthy Speight).  I don't think we would score a whole lot of points but I don't think they would have either.  It also doesn't work because we would have played Clemson in the semi final, not Bama, and I think we would have beated Clemson.
