So blue pants for the Nebraska game?

I don't know how I feel about the blue pants with white jerseys. I do feel it made the numbers pop, which in turn made the maize on the helmets pop. My son hated them, but we gotta wear them again, don't we? I mean they won at Madison...maybe they blend with the new vibe around the team. What do you guys think?

Agree 100%.

Not sure how that was missed.

I was trying to envision a maize stripe on each side of the pants, the width of the maize stripe between the two blue stripes on the shoulder pads.

I'd have to see it to have an opinion. But there's no reason we shouldn't have the maize block M.

I'm not an old-timer (maybe a mid-timer, if that's a thing, since I attended UM in the mid-90s), but I also thought the white/blue combo was great. Of the recent uniform combos, the only one I didn't really like was the all yellows. Otherwise, even the all-blues worked for me, and still a fan of the all-whites.

In order of favorite to least favorite in the Harbaugh era (not sure if I'm missing anything):

  1. Traditional home uniforms with blue jersey and yellow pants
  2. Traditional away with white jersey, yellow pants
  3. All whites
  4. White jersey, blue pants
  5. All blues
  6. ...
  7. ...
  8. All yellows

Man i sure do not like them (and yes, an old-timer too)  Road uni preferences below for me.

1:    White on white

1A:  Yellow pants, white top

2:    Blue pants, white top

43: Maize pants, maize top

But I get why people might like them given how we played last Saturday and if the blue pants gives our team some special road-game ju-ju magic I'm here for it.

Out of the three possible Away Jersey combinations in the Harbaugh/Jordan era, the White on Blue is clearly the weakest of the three. White on Maize is pretty easily the top of the bunch as it’s the classic Michigan road game style, and makes the helmet truly stand out. For as much flak as it gets on this site, the White on White with the maize piping on the pants is a very clean look. The White on Blue that debuted yesterday is just a bland and uninteresting combination that’s merely novelty for novelty’s-sake. The Blue pants themselves were boring without any piping or other notable Michigan design on them (aside from the Maize Jumpman logo, which is just meh). The pants didn’t accentuate the jersey in any particular way and did not help the helmet stand out any more than the White pants would have. That’s not to say they looked bad, but the White on Blue is only getting as much love as it is now because the team ended up burying Wisconsin. I think the White on Blues can get some use for a road game here and there, but should not be used with regularity.

I’m down. I feel like Harbaugh picks the combo that contrasts the opponents/fan gear the best to make it a little easier for the QB to see receivers downfield. Wore Maize pants 2017 at PSU to contrast white out, all blue in this year’s maizeout instead of maize pants. Blue pants vs Wisconsin who wears white pants traditionally at home

How about this, we follow traditional fashion rules, and establish a "No White Pants after Labor Day" rule for Michigan.

So, on the rare Week 0 occasion Michigan plays a road game, sure. White pants it is!

Also, those blue pants were so dark they were almost black. Definitely not "traditional" but I definitely liked them. That said, I'm still a sucker for ole faithful white top, yellow pants of my youth.

Until I'm proven wrong, we will never lose another game on the road wearing blue pants.    So blue pants it is.

I honestly wouldn't mind rotating between white, blue, and maize pants on the road.  I initially thought I would hate anything non-maize, but think both blue and white look pretty sharp.

The plain blue pants don't quite pop like the maize pants. The blue pants need to have stripes down the sides, and not just a single maize stripe, but multi-color stripes, such as the following scheme, which is basically the stripes from the white pants, but with a white border added to contrast with the blue pants:

| WHITE | BLUE | MAIZE | BLUE | WHITE |

We just beat the snot out of Wisconsin on the road for 1st time in 20 years - while wearing blue pants.

We now are heading into Lincoln for another road game.

I am no genius.  Here are my thoughts:  WEAR THE FUCKING BLUE PANTS.  Shit, don't wash them after the Wisconsin game.  Put on the same grungy socks and smelly jock strap if you think it helps.

I don't care what color they are - but any sports enthusiast knows you don't fuck w a good thing.

Beat the Cornholes!  Go Blue!!!

I'm a fan of the blue pants on the road!  Like that much better than the all-whites, which is a generic look that every team can use.  Michigan should not look generic on the field - even is the helmet stands out!

So either go with the blue pants, or go back to maize pants.  Forever forget white pants on the road, please...
