Sam Webb's Secret Visitor Speculation
New hints from the Recruiting Roundup this morning lead me to believe (HOPE) that the mystery guest is Trey DePriest. "renewed interest".... "Michigan hasn't been very pertinent for him on the surface for quite some time"....."now he's giving them another look".
Trey was a life-long UM fan who never visited and then committed early to Alabama... fits Sam's narrative.

I continue to believe that one of these 4/5 star linebackers (not counting current commit) is going to not only notice the resurgence of UM Football but also recognize the opportunity to grab immediate playing time and have an impact.

someone called and asked about DePriest and Sam said he hadn't talked to him in a long time, but he would give him a call. Given that call on the recruiting roundup came after the mystery guest annoncement I would, unfortunately, conclude it is not Trey.

If this is true, and we actually land him. I would love this not only because it's another top recruit coming in, but especially because he was taken out from under Saban.

...That it was a southern kid (Depriest is from Springfield, OH), and that Webb had already talked to/about Depriest (meaning it wasn't him). That's what someone here suggested a couple of weeks ago. It would be pretty awesome if he came, but my guess remains Christian Westerman.

I've listened to all of the Recruiting Roundups over the last few weeks and I don't remember him ever saying the mystery player was from the south. Do you remember when he said it?

That the secret recruit is a cloned Deinonychus (the velociraptor from Jurassic Park) thats DNA came from a mosquito who was trapped in amber a few million years ago. If this raptor could play OLB that would be even better because who wants to cut it back outside when there is a freaking raptor waiting for you?

Hey everyone. New to the board. Huge Michigan fan here as well. I know TomVH was gonna be about yesterday through Sunday,m so he wouldnt be able to update. Is there an updated, confirmed list as to who will be here visiting tomorrow for the game. The guy I want more anyone else is Wormley. And, in regards to Depriest, the fact that he chose Alabama and lives in Ohio tell you how much he hates OSU. Hopefully he's the guy Sam Webb was referring to.

I wouldn't say tha Depriest hates OSU. His final two teams when he made his decision were Bama and OSU. I think he wants to play in a dynamic defense that is known to pump out NFL LB's. Hopefully he also sees that UM is turning the corner and that he can get on the field early and help this defense get back on track.

I think the already committed part is just internet speculation. I usually catch the podcast on WTKA,and didn't hear Sam mention that he was already committed.I could have missed that though, but why I think it is Hughes, and why he would want to keep plans on the DL , is because he is scheduled to take his 5th official this weekend to Clemson.

Sam had been saying Jernigan was planning to visit Michigan for a long time. The only secret with him was when.
Sam said the "secret" player had eliminated Michigan at some point but was now renewing his interest. I think DeAnthony Thomas is the most likely candidate.

That there were two mystery visitors. One was offense and one was defense. Well Jernigan is one and he plays defense. That leaves offense. Not to mention I believe Sam indicated that it was not Depriest. I really have no guess who it is but Wasterman is as good a guess as any. Would love a 5 star OL.
