Bellomy had better keep his helmet close by, and the "concussion protocol" better be reviewed with that OL trying to protect, on the road.

I was just trying to inject a dose of optimism, however futile.

Can't you just envision our signature 5-step drop against this pass rush?  I saw the PSU game and whatever else you think of Rutgers they get after the QB big time.

Fear not I'm sure Hoke has a plan for better execution.

Unfortunately I did watch almost that entire slow poke game and the Rutgers DL was getting to Hack almost every play.  I thought it was mostly due to PSU OL being PSU OL but they did look uber athletic.  I "adjuted for competition" (PSU OL) but sounds like they are a threat.

They have a redshirt freshman DE who has 5 sacks.  Must be nice.

That doesn't bode well for our offensive line.  I am hopeful that all of this negativity surrounding the program lights a fire within the players and they take rutgers to task.  However, Hoke and his atrocious road performance lead me to believe that we are in for more of the same.  Sad guyyyy

the @-MSU game LY is still The Template for D-calls against the Mch-O.

This is no doubt linked to the Mch-OL, although in the end, for me its more about the Mch O-calls and by extention the Mch-OC.

This last point is about the Borgess-Nuss Dynamic.  Which is where the Mch-O is right now, and quite possibly the WHOLE Team  . . .

Given the @-MSU game LY, and all that Flowed From It with regard to the OL, and O-calls and other matters, one can see what The Nuss-O is up against.

It really makes you wonder about Nuss as an OC.  Hes certainly Not MICHIGAN--  as was also the case with RRod-Borges  . . .

If it means anything, Rutgers averages 4.0 sacks per game to our 2.0 sacks per game, and they allow 1.2 sacks to our 2.0 sacks. Translated to a percentage, Michigan is #87 in the nation in sack percentage on offense at 6.80%, but on defense, we're #45 at 6.54% for sacks made. Rutgers is #52 and #14 respectively. If it means anything, Rutgers is #128 in INT% on offense - 7.53%. Only a Nova can destroy like that, to paraphrase Star Trek.

but come on, people.  forfeit?  punt on first down?  pathetic.  Did Indiana or Minnesota give up after years of sucking?  How about Illinois?  They are pretty terrible.

Go to where ever the hell Rutgers is in NJ, and play your best, boys!  I will be cheering.  Even if we lose.

Has Ben Gedeon played this year? Remember last year when he was pretty good by the end if the year? What happened to him? Also, I miss the old jake Ryan who used to cause havoc? Where is he?

But I was stunned to hear at the beginning of the season that your best player, a beast at his position, was being moved.

I understand it was to accomodate scheme and field advantage...but MLB is a position where instincts are paramount, and it seems to me that you scheme around your best player.

But I figured we could trust this...yet another hare-brained scheme out of this coaching staff. And, yet again, just like the over tackles, run-action pass playground trickeration, and Gardner at WR, it looks like this is a massive backfire.

people talked about the concept of "rock bottom" this past weekend.

We haven't hit it. If we lose to Rutgers following a Minny loss...that is rock bottom.

This team has no life in it. Whether or not the players are playing the hearts out or the coaches are coaching their asses off, this is the most listless team I've seen in 30+ years of watching Michigan football. They play as if they're already beaten.

We've lived off a steady diet of Heroball the last 7 years, whether it was Tate, Denard, Devin...we had playmakers making plays. To this, I submit that Jabrill Peppers, a kid who, by a couple accounts, is killing it in practice, and between his rumored actions after the Utah and Minny games, has a heart of competitive fire...I submit that he may be the difference maker this weekend.

We need playmakers on the field. I've never believed that a single person can save a team...but we need someone with a spark. Peppers could provide it. If he plays, I can see a pick six and a punt return for a TD.

If the doesn't play...then I don't see us beating Rutgers, and it's Welcome to Rock Bottom.

I don't believe that any one player is bigger than The Team.

But this Team needs someone to step up to give it any life at all. I think there's only one probable candidate for this, and I hope he sees the field this Saturday. If they can get electrified, then some of that talent may be able to start galvanizing the talent in all positions, on both sides of the ball, into a cohesive unit...but first, this team desperately needs a shot in the arm.

And I think there's only one person out there who is talented enough and hasn't been demoralized enough to provide that for this team. The fact that it's an unproven freshman is beyond baffling and absolutely terrifying.

Regardless...

Go Blue.

Is that sometimes players will lay it all on the line for a beleaguered coach.  I can see Team 135 giving their all in the Rutgers game, and this might be enough to actually win.

watched second-half.  Good game-- except that no one really knows how good-bad the B10 teams are.

I would likely feel more confident about this game, if Borges were still the OC.  Which is hard to believe.  I can Not accept that the Borges-O would have sunk to this level.

In some ways--  its actually the Nuss-O that is on Trial for this game. Rather than Hoke.

Although--  the Mch-D, even with Mattison, has made Many Poor Plays over the years.  Which is Another Story itself  . . .

This has been my fear lately. So far it has come to pass - losing the Jug, getting shut out by ND, three losses before October. A loss to Indiana will be rock bottom. We are seven losses away from the void.

I doubt anybody but Hoke will be HC next week and Hoke needs a win desperately. Honestly a road win right now wouldn't surprise me even in this tumult. Desperation is the mother of invention.

So what are we left with? What is the best possible outcome right now anyway - Brandon and Hoke fired, Nuss interim, staff stays and they nail it? Longshot but is that it?

Doesn't matter who is QB next week. Rutgers will bring the house every time.

I see one of those kinds of games where Gardner/Morris get sacked 7-8 times.

Our defense will keep it close because Nova is a turnover machine and their RB is out for the year, but it won't matter. We can't score points. This has the makings of a 21-6 kind of game.
