I wouldn't say I have no sympathy, but I do agree with your sentiment. I am about as pro marijuana as they come and while I do not agree with drug testing for non safety sensitive positions, the fact is that a mandatory scheduled test becomes more of an IQ/EQ test than a drug test. A decision making test. If you know the test is coming and you can't or won't lay off for a few weeks then your priorities aren't straight or you have incredibly poor foresight.
Check yourself first. You can go to CVS and buy an instant analysis cup test for $15. If it is negative you're clear. If it is positive you might want to think up a delay tactic. If you have a job now the best excuse is usually "They are sending me for training on the day in question, how about the week after?" Then check again. $30 is a small price to pay for piece of mind.
While we're on the subject of calendars, am I the only person who doesn't have a problem with the fact that December 12 or May 26 or March 3 isn't on the same day every year? I see these articles with people tying themselves in knots over the fact that last year their birthday was on a Wednesday and this year it is on a Thursday. I would actually hate to have every date always be on the same week day. I hope the calendar is never "fixed". That is all.
What is the thing with JUCOs? Is there an objective criteria they fail? Or is it simply not the preferred route? Is it because they come in with one year less eligibility? I transferred in from Dearborn and graduated Ann Arbor. Was that shameful?
I am not sold on Nuss one way or the oher. I do think that regardless of our next head coach, it will help to have as many head-coaches-in-waiting as possible on the next staff. Ultimately it will be Harbaugh's call. Harbaugh.
How can you be filled with seething rage in your first comment regarding having to pay for something, yet propose a solution wherein you have to pay for something? The point is you already paid for it for the last 20 years. These roads didn't happen overnight. You could handle a 2% increase in spending if it were your household. You could prioritize and find a way. Government exists to pretend that it cannot find a way. They need you to beg to pay them.
Edit: Also, truck weights. The assholes refuse to do the obvious.
I think this search has been a healing episode for all of us.
Brandon is gone and his minions are soon to be.
Hoke is gone and he got to go out pretty well, considering.
Hackett has all but proven he has the pimp hand.
Harbaugh is obviously the big fish, but even if we don't land him, this time it won't be because we are stupid and can't coordinate a big time coaching search. The leaked proposal will get the interests of the plan B guys, and Sam Webb still says Miles would be the next target. I think we will come out of this ok.
A political issue on the board with Brian himself commenting even. This is a test in tolerating political type comments in anticipation of a Regent run.
Marathon sessions of tag. Guns. Smear the queer. Ghosts in the graveyard. Curb-ball. Endlessly riding bikes. Buidling forts in the woods. Playing hack.
Is there any transaction that they shouldn't be a part of? It is bad enough the DEA even exists. It is worse that they stick their nose into the doctor patient relationship and private health matters.
The article with details linked in the board post has a picture that shows a woman with what appears to be a scrape on her face. There is also a picture of a broken lamp. I am sure he will get kicked off the team. And properly so. Lamps aren't cheap.
"Meet and talk with former history students who have completed their degrees and ventured into the real world with remarkable success!"
The statement is so astonishing it needs an exclamation point.
Often I will look at many different shirts before selecting the shirt I am going to buy. Even if I have known I need a new shirt for a few weeks. Sometimes I will even try on a shirt and end up buying a different shirt. If I can't find a shirt I like, I will just keep the interim shirt longer.
The students really missed a chance to show some unity. I attend games so infrequently (also attended infrequently while I was a student) but I really wanted to go yesterday to show some support. My wife, my oldest, and I thankfully got some free tickets to great seats and it was a great time. My son's first game and he loved it. Cold blue.
But four more victories keeps it interesting. It would certianly be Hoke making a statement. Coupled with his 100% graduation rate it is a strong argument indeed. Only if we truly win out though. It is much more likely we lose out.
But at least double that was empty for most of the game. I think the lack of students is due to the mid afternoon start time more than anything else. I think an earlier start time encourages fan participation since it is so much easier to organize your day around a 12:30 kickoff.
First, I was concerned that this Hackett was too similar to Brandon, being an ex-football player and CEO. Then I saw the second best news of the day, which is that Hackett "currently sits on the Board of Advisors for both the School of Public Policy and the Life Sciences Institute." That, along with his red tie, tell me that he is coming from the academic side and does not intend to be around long as AD. Not a politician." , tell me that not
Second, perhaps the sacrifice of Brandon ensures our victory tomorrow. I hope it helps.
The argument remains, though I think it isn't so much that Borges was better than Nuss, especially in a long-term sense. What it is is that despite not being able to produce a competent running game without Denard Robinson, Borges was able to call plays that resulted in scoring. Though I believe prior to the PSU game the team was 100% for red zone scoring this season. So what we are seeing is far fewer red zone attempts or the inability of our now more competent running game to effectively generate yards in scoring drives. What I think this really means is that we are all missing Jeremy Gallon, and Gardner is really missing him. So then Brady Hoke and his staff have turned their program into one where the absence of a wide receiver has resulted in a 20 points per game differential.
The players aren't the game. Spectators make the spectacle.
Do you think EMU football players put in less year round? They are still playing football, still competing. What does EMU football lack?
Why did they build the Big House to eventually hold 150K?
Is playing in front of the largest crowd in the country not a recruiting pitch?
For almost 40 years, the entire Michigan football community had the luxury of taking wins, sellouts, and overall success for granted. That is a luxury we no longer have.
As little abuses are normalized and tolerated the line of what is outrageous keeps moving further in the wrong direction. If this incident was considered outrageous might police be more likely to verify before no knock raiding the wrong house, or the house with kids, etc.

The secret to life is one thing.
Yes but the point is you would have a pile of gold at the end of the "same period" versus a ledger entry in a server somewhere.

Niners kicking themselves they didn't trade for Hoke. Serious. Why fire Harbaugh? Amazing.
Good times.
The Three Days of Happening sounds great.

Interesting what comes out of what UM had to give SF - I believe the full buyout was $5M.
when Clayton said it was 100%, that was it. Amazing.

In the meantime I am just enjoying the ride.

Smoking cigarettes in the woods.
Hiding porno mags in the woods.
Fondling your girlfriend in the woods.
One day closer.

A pretty long time.
Too soon?
Beat Ohio State.
Overall pretty good note. It should be 930 student-athletes though.

Hoke should be kept if and only if the future contains the following truths:
-Harbaugh isn't available or otherwise won't come to Michigan
-Hoke wins out the season - Maryland, OSU, and the bowl
Hoke probably has to go ultimately. That said I believe DB was the real cancer and am quite mollified now that he is gone.
Regner had the straight dope in 2010.
Even more prescient was Maize and Blue...'s "Brady Hoke?" comment third from the top.

Win out and never look back 135! GO BLUE!
You'll find out Saturday.
This isn't getting the attention it deserves. Brilliant!
Should've created the "verified voracity" tag for this...
The low point could happen at Homecoming.
It is clownshows all the way down.
Maybe the little bastard will learn now. But if there is anybody who needs to have his power removed, it is Dave Brandon.

Are the players required to attend these press conferences? Do other sports do it? All other sports? How long has football done it?

The only thing worse than taxpayer funded costumed goon squads are the statist apologists who think they are necessary.
Nobody plays a better woman than Scott Thompson.
Most interesting given he never did the same for RR.
What if they made the J. Ira and Nicki Harris family the Athletic Director(s) and Donald R. Shepherd the Football Coach? Head asplode.
