Poll: Who do you hate the most?
Inspired by this thread (and I'm sure countless others before it), which school do you hate the most? Just in case the poll below doesn't embed properly, here is the URL. I threw in my vote for osu.
As a Michigan fan, who do you hate the most?
osu | |
nd | |
msu | |
i hate them all equally | |
haven't you heard? illinois is our biggest rival.
i don't hate anyone. hate leads to suffering.
pollcode.com free polls |
EDIT 1:
Well, the masses have spoken and, so far, it's osu in a landslide.
http://poll.pollcode.com/xpxz_result?v
Currently, 85 votes (70%) for ohio; 17 votes (14%) for msu; 8 votes (7%) for all 3 equally; 7 votes (6%) for notre dame; 3 votes (2%) for hate leads to suffering; and 1 intrepid voter for some reason really hates illinois.
EDIT 2:
Another update, and it's still osu by a wide margin.
- osu, 223 votes, 71%
- msu, 43 votes, 14%
- nd, 22 votes, 7%
- all equal, 13 votes, 4%
- hate leads to suffering (yoda), 7 votes, 2%
- illini!!!!, 4 votes, 1%
EDIT 3 (final, probably):
The probably final update says...
- we hate the $uckeye$ yeah OH-NO!!!! 302 votes, 69%
- we also hate lil bro for being an irritating PITA, like all lil bros are, 62 votes, 14%
- we hate nd like that annoying pimple that shows up just before a big date, 35 votes, 8%
- a few of you really have a lot of hatred built up, hating them all equally, 23 votes, 5%
- which is unhealthy, as the jedis-in-training have learned well from yoda that hate leads to suffering, 9 votes, 2%
- and some of you are just deluded, or are illinois fans voting on this poll to bolster your numbers, 7 votes, 2%

The Dutch.
January 16th, 2012 at 11:38 AM ^
My Dutch is rusty, but...
Wat verkeerd precies is met de Nederlanders?
As for the poll, I think I will go "Ohio" here, as grating as MSU and ND are.
I will say, that exchange in "Goldmember" never gets old for me.
EDIT: Could we also include the Flemish-speaking portions of Belgium?

can we start with calling latte 'koffie verkeerd'?

People who are intolerant of other people's cultures......and the Dutch
January 16th, 2012 at 11:59 AM ^
That would be hypocritical.
But I do REALLY hate the Ohio Dutch.

hard to imagine a group of people that thought it was a good idea to inhabit an area of Europe that is below sea level and cut down trees to use the wood to make shoes...

Hatred of them is rising.
January 16th, 2012 at 10:53 AM ^
Not even a contest I hate Ohio more than any other team by far.
January 16th, 2012 at 10:56 AM ^
1. All things Ohio
2. Dantonio
3. ND's arrogance
4. Illinois fans
January 16th, 2012 at 12:00 PM ^
Ohio is globally intolerable. I hate MSU fans and their distain for us and the fact that they have infiltrated the local media in Detroit with shows based on the hatred of the greatest asset in all of SE Michigan, our beloved University.
Mark Dantonio and Narduzzi are clearly a a despicable character who will have to be dealt with with a stern beating. I don't like Izzo but I think he's a good guy and a great coach.
I like ND and chose Michigan over it for my education. I think it's a silly little school though and the arrogance there is kind of silly.
Illinois fans. yeah, they are annoying.
January 16th, 2012 at 10:57 AM ^
1. Ohio
2. Ohio Fans
3. Urban Meyer
4. Mark Dantonio
5. MSU Fans

That's about right, I'd flip 3 and 4 maybe, but it pretty much sums it up
January 16th, 2012 at 10:57 AM ^
It's all equal in different ways to me.
January 16th, 2012 at 10:58 AM ^
everyone else
January 16th, 2012 at 10:58 AM ^
Goes OSU, MSU, and then ND in that order.
I have to say, though, living in the state of Michigan all my life amongst many Spartans fans has caused me to almost hate MSU and OSU equally. I usually don't bother watching OSU vs MSU football games. My family calls those games meteorite games.
January 16th, 2012 at 10:59 AM ^
From a school perspective, gotta be ohio. Oddly enough, I do not hate MSU. I do, however, have an unrelenting hatred of Dantonio.
January 16th, 2012 at 11:00 AM ^
It would interest me to see how the responses break down by demographics. My era (late 80's) is likely more inclined to hate ND. Older folks probably exclusively hate Ohio; younger fans hate Ohio and MSU. But that's just, like, my opinion, man.
January 16th, 2012 at 1:04 PM ^
I bet you're on to something...
January 16th, 2012 at 4:51 PM ^
Yep, with the 80's as my coming of age, I still hate ND the most. Anything Raghib still causes a really bad reaction. That whole rainy weekend was bad for me and I blame it on Rocket and Holtz.
Ohio is just a bunch of fools to me. I went to one game there and won't waste my time again. The people I interacted with were some of the worst human beings I've ever met and I've met some pretty bad people.
January 16th, 2012 at 11:01 AM ^
...it's called Hate Week.
January 16th, 2012 at 11:02 AM ^
1. Notre Dame
2. Ohio State
3. MSU (although rising fast due to their psychopathic actions this season)
4. Nick Saban
January 16th, 2012 at 11:03 AM ^
Notre Dame, Iowa (Iowa City is a dump, and their fans are the worst), osu, michigan st., any florida school, Brent Musburger, mtv, movies with women kicking everybody's asses, doing my taxes, mediacom, the bcs, anybody who doesnt want a playoff, bowl games not on new years day, celebrating christmas not on christmas day, mcdonalds, junk mail, and NELLY!!!
January 16th, 2012 at 11:14 AM ^
I'm from Iowa, have many friends in Iowa City and been there often. I agree its kind of a dump at least compared to Ann Arbor, but I've always had a fun time. I'm curious why you think their fans are the worst though? I've only had pretty decent interactions (aside from my friends; obviously we give each other a lot of shit).
January 16th, 2012 at 11:26 AM ^
because they cant win with class and dont know their place in college sports. Iowa football is the only thing in the whole state which makes them believe in things like Stanzi winning the Heisman and winning a national title. I was in Iowa City for this years' michigan game. Nothing but drunks wanting to start fights after the game. I could go on forever about things like that.
January 16th, 2012 at 11:23 AM ^
Great second post, although I'm not feeling the hate for Mickey D's, opening presents Christmas Eve, or Nelly.
If you open presents the night before, your younger brother doesn't wake you up at 5:30am on Christmas morning...
January 16th, 2012 at 12:53 PM ^
Have been to Iowa City, at least in regard to fan friendliness. Maybe I was lucky.
January 16th, 2012 at 11:06 AM ^
1) People who are intolerable of other people's cultures.
2) The Dutch.
3) Ohio
January 16th, 2012 at 11:10 AM ^
1) People who claim to hate people who are intolerable of other peoples' cultures, but, are obviously intolerable of other peoples' cultures themselves.
2) The Dutch.
3) Ohio

I hope I'm not the only one who got the Austin Powers' reference.
January 16th, 2012 at 11:07 AM ^
I hate Ohio and MSU, probably about equally. In my years as a fan (I'm only 17, and have only been a huge fan the past 4-5) the OSU rivalry has been so one sided that it wasn't even a terribly big deal; it was just one more loss on the schedule. Once it heats up again (i.e. now), I'm sure it will regain its #1 spot.
I don't hate ND, honestly. Their a cool rival because I see them as mirroring Michigan in so many ways. Great education, tradition, and classy fans. I hate Brian Kelly, but that's about it. I have grown up loving Michigan and everything it stands for, which is why I like similar schools like Texas and PSU, too (even though I'm not a fan, I still respect them).
January 16th, 2012 at 11:08 AM ^
1. People who hate dutch

4. ND they are to bad to really hate to much

2. Ohio
3. Still Ohio
4. The Dutch
5. Mark Dantonio and annoying State fans.
January 16th, 2012 at 11:11 AM ^
Wow, I am kind of surprised I'm the only one who put Michigan State at the top of the hate list. What with Dantonio, 4 in a row, the incessant name calling, the inflated opinion of themselves, the trolling, Tom Gholson, etc., etc..
- MSU
- OSU
- ND
January 16th, 2012 at 11:51 AM ^
You know I thought this about too, but in the end they're still just MSU.
January 16th, 2012 at 11:13 AM ^
1. I HATE pOSU, their fans, their school, their town, & the entire state; but I think their glitter helmets are purty.
2. I loathe MSU's delusional fanbase more and more every year.
3. I feel sorry for ND's delusional fanbase, it's tough to hate something so pathetic.
January 16th, 2012 at 11:16 AM ^
Seriously? And have you ever been to Ohio? You realize that a lot of great Michigan players (including Charles Woodson and our highest-rated recruit in the 2012 class) are from Ohio?
January 16th, 2012 at 11:29 AM ^
Everyone knows there is an exception for kids from Ohio who become Michigan Men.
But that is the only exception.
January 16th, 2012 at 11:28 AM ^
Yes, I have been to Ohio and that is especially why I hate the entire state.
I can hate Ohio and still love Woodson.
I hate the packers more than anything in this universe (yes, more than the Crab Nebula... lousy Crab Nebula) and I still love Woodson.
