I've read that the stickers either don't work or barely work at all in terms of the actual intended use of eyeblack, so I'd probably go old-school.

This is true: the stickers are not effective. http://opa.yale.edu/news/article.aspx?id=4458 If Tressel were smart, he'd switch Pryor to real eye black so he won't have to field those intensely difficult questions about names he writes on his eye black stickers. Seriously, though: if it's been shown that the stickers really don't do anything, why are they still so widely used?

When you're playing a brutal, physical game, it's important to look your best. You can't commit the faux pas of having your eye makeup smear. You never know who might be watching on TV! (Also, it's harder to write touching messages like "MIKE VICK" on grease.)
