Why on earth would you want Shepard? Maybe I have a bias from hearing him on talk radio for so many years, but he's terrible to me. I feel embarassed for Michigan basketball when I hear him doing the games...the guy is smarmy and awkward

where this mentality the ND is an automatic loss.. when did they become unbeatable? I agree that if we lose to Utah and ND Hoke's seat is on fire at that point.. but I think the chances of that are slim. We have a super talented 5th year senior qb, and a D that should be borderline elite, If we go 8-4 I will be pissed.
As for this nonsense about Funk, The fact that he has to watch Alabama film to learn that scheme makes me sad. Still I beleive that Nuss knows what it takes to be a winner and he will impose his will on the position coaches. The man is a couple good seasons from a quality head coaching gig, I don't think he's gonna let that slip through his hands here, he will turn this around...please god help him turn this around.

I think we all wasnt success, I agree he was in a tough spot and we were going to have problems. But I just dont feel like there's an excuse for that many negative yardage plays ever, it crippled the team.
|6 days 8 hours ago||fair enough||
Im not an expert, I was just giving my opinion. I disagree on him only playing worse late in the year. Uconn he was pretty bad, along with a few other games early. I felt like at times he was making bad decisions with the ball and lost confidence because there was no qb coach there on the sidelines. There is no proof it was due to coaching or lack of, I concede that. Overall he was still great under the circumstances, but I beleive he is capable of much much more.

that Darboh was going to be the starter last year behind Gallon. But the points he made are completely valid. Chesson did get much better as the season went on and by the end of the year he was pretty good. He also was the best blocker at the posistion and we know the coaches value that. Darboh has alot of work to do if he is going to win that spot back imo.

The number of self-proclaimed experts feeling the need to "correct" every opinion they see is not on the rise. They have always been around in force you are just noticing it more now.

wouldnt want Sparty again even though it would be for the natty? No matter who you get it's going to be a tough matchup, I know we can beat Sparty.

I think I speak for many people here when I say this, blow me.
|6 weeks 2 days ago||NO they didnt||
Why does everyone think that? There were plenty of people who thought it was a terrible pick during the draft. I can remember Dukie V saying it was a huge mistake and Dumars would regret it 30 seconds after the pick was made on the draft show. I remember personally being really upset we didn't take Carmello..and argueing with my friends for the next 2 years because they thought Prince was better and we didnt need him.

are you all saying the things Mattison was saying is common knowledge? This has me all giddy right now. Going from 4-3 under to over base. He said we will play more press coverage and more aggresive on the line this year. Might be all bs coach speak but he made it move.
|7 weeks 2 days ago||yea||
that was pretty cool
|7 weeks 5 days ago||lmao||
this is great
|8 weeks 2 days ago||Well||
I'm pretty sure Mattison was coaching linebackers and Gerry Montgomery was coaching the line in 2011. The d-line was awful the past 2 seasons, I don't see how anyone could objectively say otherwise. I know Hoke was a good D-line coach back in the day, but the game has changed since the 90's and he wasn't also trying to be a head coach back then.. what he did back then really is not relavent.
|8 weeks 2 days ago||Wow||
We are finally getting Mattison and Hoke's hands off the D-line? Thank god! I thought it would have been a strength but it turnoud out to be a disaster..kudos to coach Hoke for recognising a problem like that and addressing it without letting pride get in the way.
|8 weeks 3 days ago||huh?||
What exactly would you want to happen? 26 game conference schedules aren't really an option.

when Detroit and Flint were putting out top talent every year. Back in the 90's and early 2000's Izzo had no competition and built MSU up so that when it dried up here he had the name recognition to pull kids nationally.
But no, UM and MSU don't face off in recruiting that often anymore. Belein and Izzo recruit different style players which makes it more rare.

Since Nuss came on board we are averaging almost 1 ACL tear a month!

sure Gardner got a medical redshirt without burning his regular redshirt
|9 weeks 4 days ago||So you are saying||
So you are saying the NBA of today is a better watch then that of the 80's 90's and early 2000's. Well that just like, your opinion man. The viewership numbers sure don't back you up.
Why does everyone like to blame the crap product on the Pistons? They played a tough defensive style but they still lit up the scoreboard every night. I don't know why everyone thinks the 80's Pistons were this bad offensive team that took advandtage of defensive no calls, that's not the case at all. They averaged 106 points a game, even after a very slow start before they traded Dantley.
IMO The biggest problem with the league was and always will be bringing kids in too young. When they started letting High School kids in it got bad, it has improved slightly since they changed the age limit to 19. Still, that combined with the Jordan rules being applied to everyone is why the game stinks to me.
|9 weeks 4 days ago||Dude||
Jordan was constantly complaining and lobbying for rule changes. He I remember his rant on how the Detroit Pistons were bad for basketball, and the league made a few changes after the 2nd title. He was catered to and the leage definatly changed as a result.

about the numbers to me. Burke plays in the western conference, it's tougher competition. The thing is Burke is a leader and plays well in the clutch, Jennings is just a role player.

just don't see it man. I'm not saying you're wrong, but what exactly is it about GR3 that makes him 1st round material? I guess he's a good finisher, he is very athletic. But his game is just soo meh. Below avg shooter, below avg ball handler, plays good D at the 4 but I dont think he can guard an nba 3 man.
