Another bad Day in Columbus...Coach Third Base might need a downgrade to Second or First.

#1 OT in the 2024 class.

Is the O-line really one of their biggest problems? Shedeur holds the ball f  o  r  e  v  e  r... so naturally he's going to take more sacks. Utah, 4th in the PAC 12 in sacks only had 2 against Colorado the last game... Shedeur didn't play that game. Not saying it's a coincidence, but I don't think their O-line is as big of a problem as Coach Sanders would hope it is.

Answer for me: 9 straight losses to us in 9 successive years.  We had to endure 8, and that was terrible, so if they have to endure worse, they'd have my empathy.  I had to add the 9 years part because given the new CFP, it could happen in, say, 4 years, which isn't as brutal as a fuckin decade long winless streak.

So I guess the fact that Coach Prime Year One worked out at Colorado more or less as well as predicted (4-8, with a "statement" win over TCU except then TCU turned out to be butt) isn't harming his ability to keep pulling in the big name recruits.

Before the season people were saying 3ish wins.  And he had a lot of competitive games with basically little on defense (lost to Utah, Oregon ST and USC by a TD, Stanford & Arizona by 3)  And you can't buy how much marketing he has brought to that school.

And he is still Coach Prime.  I give it 3 years and he will be gone but maybe .500 next year and then he does the jump to 8+ wins in year 3 and he gone to a hyuge program down south.  Imagine that guy with the resources of A&M or Oklahoma etc.

Colorado was in those games despite coach Prime, not because of him. Until he actually learns how to in-game coach, he will continue to lose plenty of games by a touchdown or less. That won’t change no matter how talented his teams are or where he coaches. Against Stanford, his clock management cost them the game and I don’t see that changing if he coaches at A&M or Oklahoma.

I hope Ohio State gets every 5 start recruit on the planet. I hope they get every top transfer portal in the country. That way, when Michigan destroys them, they are only left with befuddlement and tears.

I think Michigan actually has a pretty solid recruiting strategy down:

Bring in large numbers of guys in the 200-500 range.

Find guys who have been humbled and/or who want to win in the portal.

Unless Michigan is willing to pay big up front, they just aren't going to bring in large numbers of guys in the top 100 right out of high school outside of players with connections to the University and/or program.

I've gotten to the point where I really don't care at all about rankings as far as UM is concerned. Graham, Grant, Hutch, and Ojabo were all outside the top 100. We seem to always have at least one Day 1 or 2 picks at one position on the line - I think UM has gotten so good at identifying the athletic traits that they desire and teach prospects the technique to overshoot their rankings. Now, if our entire class was full of unranked 2 or 3 stars, as it seemingly was under Don Brown, I'd start getting worried. But it seems UM mostly pulls guys in from the 100-750 range who become 4-5 year players (which I prefer) and then fill in the gaps with great portal players.

I first started reading this blog because of recruiting, it was the only hope to become a better program for a while in the Hoke era. Now it feels like what I imagine the pre-recruiting industry era felt like: I know the big names but the rest I'll find out about after I see them in the spring game or on the field (also by reading the summer recruiting profiles that Brian/Seth produce that seem to offer a much better projection than many recruiting analysts).
