OT: Poor damn Joe Milton

Sorry-not-sorry to kick the man when he's down, but . . .

Stop what you are doing, go on Twitter, search "Joe Milton," and scroll through the top Tweets.  I am rolling.  The best have GIFs and videos, but here's some of the best of the rest.

Here's a quick link.

There are several qualities that you look for in a QB, arm strength, mobility, intelligence (reading defenses etc.), grace under pressure, and accuracy among them. You can't get by on accuracy alone, but the lack of same, more than any of the others, will make success impossible.

I mean, if you look at some of the quotes from his "Hello" post, it's the same problems and he hasn't progressed one bit since HS at both Michigan and now Tennessee.

Areas of Improvement: Can be erratic with his accuracy

... he also struggled timing up with his receivers and putting touch on some throws that needed it.

... if he can't refine his accuracy, he could struggle to see the field.

Not specifically to add to the Milton bashing, but those who didn’t watch the “Devin Gardener on with Sam Webb” video from earlier today might be interested to hear what Devin had to say about Milton.  Basically “he’s done.  Has the arm but can’t see the field at all. And something about a fake-injury”.  This was from during the commercial breaks — Devin may need to remember that it is still being streamed!

From that thread on VolNation:

"UT is pretty much out of consideration for any highly rated pro style qb. We are now locked into an offense that will not be successful on a consistent basis in the SEC."

I don't think the "What the hell is offense anyway?" scheme has been successful anywhere actually, but Tennessee is very adept at acquiring the personnel for it.

I feel badly for him. He's a kid who's been told he's D1 material and he's trusted all those people, especially the ones who told him they'd help him develop. And what else sucks? Realizing you're not as good as everyone said you were.

Wow, I didn’t realize how bad he was before getting hurt Saturday. Several of those throws reminded me of his last throw as a Wolverine (an out that he sailed 5 yards over Ronnie Bell’s head)…

I wish the kid luck but he did bash the program and staff in a pre-season interview (something about treating players like robots) - not a good look

Ok, yeah that last one is funny-not funny-but definitely very funny.

I guess Milton and Giles J aren't fairing so well in their new environs...

In a way I feel sorry for Milton because he is a kid who has all of the tools but just can't seem to put it all together. In other ways, I've read a couple of articles talking about how Michigan is going to regret letting Milton get away and how under a real program, the coaching staff will unlock his talent. Hey when you are passed over, everyone's dream is to come back and make them pay. I get that and if Milton was lighting up the world, you better believe that the Harbaugh haters would be ringing the Milton bell every chance they could. In one positive development, maybe the Milton was playing with an injury crowd can bury that conspiracy now.

Milton earned his degree. He is a Michigan man. I thought Tennessee was a bad fit for him and felt he would have been better at a MAC school where the pressure wasn't as great and he had the years to play through his inconsistencies. But he came into the NCAA with Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence and I am sure those internal comparisons weighed on him.

I am curious if Milton is going to stick with QB and look to switch positions and have a NFL career.
