I am OK with the Lions having cheerleaders, but ONLY IF the cheerleaders represent the historical spirit of the team. For instance, I think most years the season should start out with hot, spunky, awesome cheerleaders to really get our hopes up. They'll stay that way for the first 8 or 9 games, but then they should start to change. As the season wears on, the cheerleader quality should get worse and worse. And by games 15 and 16, the cheerleaders should be gross and unshowered and drunk on 40s and high on meth and just fucking pathetic...

Was just logging in to mention that I was wrong about the Jills, it's been so long since I've really watched NFL that I didn't notice the Jills being gone as a result of the lawsuit, here's to unintended consequences I suppose.  Also the Giants apparently have an unofficial cheer squad called the Gotham City cheerleaders.  I anxiously await them performing the Batdance.

I never understood why they didn't have cheerleaders to begin with.  I mean, in 2008 when they went 0-16, I wouldn't have blamed them for walking off the job.

I have been sitting here for about 10 minutes waiting for someone to start the thread.... It is a good year to bring cheerleaders in as I am not sure the other product on the field will be worth watching. Saturdays will out shine Sundays again this year. +1 for the Lionesses

My wife was a Buccaneer cheerleader for two years back when they won the Super Bowl in 2001 or so. They received zero wages back then.  They did get 2 tix to each game including the super bowl. They were also expected to do many local community events and when they did, always have hair and makeup to the nines. All of the girls had regular jobs but just loved the experience.
