OT: Dee Hart out for the year. Again.
Dee Hart had torn his ACL again and will be out for the rest of the year. Very unfotunate for the kid. Especially since he was sidelined last year as well. Hope he has full recovery.

Edit: Only posted due to Dee being a former commit. Plus our fan bases obsession over him the last few years.

That is unfortunate. He was returning punts and everything.

It's not really his fault he is a bust. Only a bust due to injuries.

Oh man. Torn ACLs suck; I can't imagine what it would be like to have to go through all that rehab twice! I also echo your hopes for a speedy recovery.

he's a fragile lil guy, isn't he?
October 1st, 2012 at 4:50 PM ^
Yes, he needs to suck it up and play through it like this guy:
Sarcasm, obviously.

To be fair, if every player at Purdue sat out when they torn their ACLs, Purdue wouldn't have any active athletes.

Perhaps it's time for Dee to focus on his post-football career. Best of luck to him.

Coach Saban, is that you?

This kids talent was very promissing. I hope he can recover and start some day. It doesn't seem likely but he's a special player. Very explosive and would have atlease kept contributing on special teams. Hard to lose a guy like that 2 years in a row. Well, maybe not for Alabama.

His recruiting film was more fun to watch than almost any Michigan recruit I can remember not named Fitz Toussaint. Tremendous talent.

obviously never watched Sam McGuffie's hilight reel.

Mike Hart's was the best.

Thanks for posting that! I had never seen it before.
If I was on the defense and that just happened to me, I'd probably be thinking, "Fuck this, I'm going home."

Two ACL tears means he needs to seriously start thinking about a non-football future.

At least he'll have a business degree from Alabama to fall back on
October 2nd, 2012 at 11:18 AM ^
Psh Northwest Central Alabama State has a way better business program.

Tough blow for Bama. Losing a 5-star RB is always a big deal. Those kinds of backs just don't grow on trees. Can't just replace talent that easily.
October 1st, 2012 at 4:28 PM ^
When it comes to Bama, they seem to have no problem replacing talent with talent. (at least recently)
October 1st, 2012 at 9:51 PM ^
They commits from 3 of the top 10 backs in the 2013 class and Bo Scarbrough who is probably the top back in the 2014 class. Plus, Yeldon is a stud. They will be fine.

I feel that including a "/s" completely destroys the whole point of sarcasm. Just a personal choice.

I literally watched 5 minutes of football on Saturday. He fielded a punt, tried to make a move, but was quickly smothered by the defender. He laid there for a bit, they showed the replay, and you could tell it was a torn ACL. But then he hopped up and was barely helped off the field. Here's to wishing a quick recovery for Dee.

Oh no, now they'll have to fall back on Eddie Lacy and TJ Yeldon. How are they ever going to manage?
Still, hope he makes a quick recovery.

Oh what could have been. Good luck Dee...

Hart was worse but I don't think either would have been program changing. I never believed that Dix had anything more then a passing interest in Michigan, while Hart would have stayed committed if RR stayed. With Fitz and the backs we're bringing in we are fine at RB and with WIlson already here and Dymonte on his way we're fine at deep safety. I actually think the most damaging de-commit or lost commit from the RR fallout was Jake Fisher.

Dee was the bigger lost, mostly because I don't believe we ever had a shot at HaHa. But in terms of which player I'd rather have, it's HaHa even if Hart didn't have the injuries. He's already a starter (or close to it) on a very good defense, and we have a bit of a question mark at safety after Kovacs leaves. Yes, Wilson has promise, and Dymonte should be good too, but they'll still be young next year, and HaHa would be an upperclassman. It would be awesome if our starters at safety next year were HaHa and then the best of Gordon, Wilson and Dymonte. And then even better the next year, likely.

Does anyone know if it is the same knee?

I thought he was going to be special at Bama. Lets hope he can still make that happen.

Two ACL tears in two years? Sounds like Saban will be opening another wing in his hospital soon.
