Ojabo drafted 2nd round to Baltimore Ravens
O-JA-BO!
Why the hell didn't they show that sack on his highlight reel!
haha seriously!

Because that game was on Fox.
He had double digit sacks, game clinching forced fumbles…but forever when I see or hear his name, I will immediately see him pumping the ground and hear Gus Johnson’s voice

Lions picked a Kentucky DE next, so it's very possible they were thinking Ojabo.
Yeah - a little bittersweet - that would've been incredible for all involved!
Possibly, but much different players, body types, and expected roles.
Wouldn’t mind having that combo, even in the nfl. After a few years, ojabo could be a absolute monster (even more so).
John harbaugh loves him some Wolverines.
Congrats Mr. Ojabo!!
Harbs to Harbs
At least Ojabo gets to work with MacDonald in Baltimore, that should really help him flourish since it should be the the same system.
Hopefully they get that substitution and alignment shit figured out amirite
Yeah, let’s not line him up in pass coverage vs Garret Wilson again…

I was thinking MacDonald may have had a little influence on the pick.
Scary thing is he's probably not anywhere near his ceiling yet. Started playing FB super late in HS and missed a year with COVID stuck in Scotland. This year might have been his real break out year had he stayed.

It's a win/win for David and MacDonald. Congrats to David and wishing him much success in the NFL.
Ravens really don't overthink the draft very often. Take super talented guys as frequently as possible. Hamilton, Lindebaum, and Ojabo.
It certainly is one of the best run front offices in the pros.
They can stop right there and have a great draft...
It was awesome to see how happy he was!
It would've been great to see him playing with Hutch again, but he'll be reunited with Coach Mac and another Harbaugh. I think he'll fit in just fine in Baltimore.
Agreed on all counts!
So unsurprising John H takes him... then to see Detroit take another DE, holy shit were they going to take Ojabo too?!! Would that have been some sort of unprecedented occurrence?
It would've been pretty wild, that's for sure!
Best spot he could have hoped for outside of the 1st round. If you're going pro and the options are a 1st round deal at a bad fit or a 2nd round deal at the perfect fit, you will likely be wealthier in a decade going with the latter option. A tragic injury but the fit a staff he went to is literally his best possible outcome of every team in the league.
Also, I honestly don't think Detroit would have taken him. I keep hearing them talk about more of a 4-3 this year and even if it's using lots of open variations it's still a different set from the ideal for him in that Baltimore style of 3-4 base with variations from it.
Would he have been too good to pass up on? Maybe. I just think Detroit was looking for DL specifically and a guy that could play a lot of spots across it as opposed to a pure outside LB/Rush like Ojabo.
Thanks for the awesome insights!
2nd round! So cool.
What a great journey he's on.
Congratulations David Ojabo ! Thanks for some great memories, best of luck, and continued success always. My favorite football player ever from Scotland.
That's outstanding! I'm really happy for Ojabo.
Jim Harbaugh has a great recruiting pitch: come to Michigan and there will be a 50% chance that my brother drafts you.
Considering John's reputation in the NFL, that's a strong ass pitch...
So happy for him. What s great landing spot!
I never would have guessed he'd go before Nakobe Dean - even before the Achilles injury.
I love the level of trust between the brothers and MacDonald, well whoever pulled the trigger. So happy for him!
I am offended on Nakobe Dean's behalf at this point.
This pectoral injury that keeps getting mentioned - if the concern is that he'll miss significant time, then maybe he's a great value pick for the Lions? They're not competing for a championship this year so they can wait for him to get his surgery and get right. A healthy, smart LB would fit very well in Detroit. Maybe he'll be available at pick 97?
I think the Lions—along with a bunch of other franchises—are going to regret not drafting Dean.
So in the 3rd round the Lions pass on a 5’-11”/229 ILB who was a heat-seeking missile on the nation’s best defense, yet two rounds later draft a hoo-dat ILB who’s 5’-11”/232 from Okie St.
Looks like same-old Lions to me.
Watching Ojabo break down when his name was called...priceless. So happy for the guy. All the hard work and success, then the crushing disappointment of the injury, uncertainty...to be reunited with MacDonald and still calling his head coach Coach Harbaugh. Best wishes for a speedy recovery and a long and successful NFL career.

Damn. Missed the bash bros reunion by 1. Good for Ojabo, though. He goes from Harbaugh to Harbaugh, and plays for the same DC

buried the lede, playing for John and his old DC in Baltimore.
What a great story this guy really is! The way he blew up this year - legitimately - was awesome in its own right. But it was all capped off watching the pride and joy on his parents faces when he and Hutch, their host family, blew the doors off OSU's OL. The first time they ever watched him play football...
I hope this guy has a long and prosperous career, and I'm really growing as a Ravens fan!
Why, you'd think the Ravens hired a coach who watched him play.
The storylines here are amazing. Going to play with his HS teammate with a similar story, his DC from college and the brother of his college head coach. Awesome organization to turn him into the first round talent he is.
