From Mlive:After feeling slighted, again, Michigan's Jordan Morgan stays on the warpath in win over Texas

Title says it all - good Mlive piece about Jordan not liking living in Ridley's shadow and what he did about it.

http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2014/03/after_feeling_slighte…

All day Friday, Morgan had to answer questions about how the Wolverines were going to limit Texas' massive center. One after another. And with each question, Morgan's focus elevated.

"I ain't got a lot of body fat on me, there's been a lot of weights lifted over my five years here," he said. "I'm not about to just roll over."

and

Morgan was as emotional as he's been at any point all season, including the team's senior day at the Crisler Center earlier this month. And when it was all over, and Michigan subbed him out for the final time, he was still letting everyone know about it.

He pumped his fists to the Michigan crowd behind the team bench. Got in assistant coach LaVall Jordan's face and let him know he meant what he said when he told his team he would be just fine vs. Texas on Saturday, and then finished up by head-butting sophomore Mitch McGary right in the chest.

Perhaps.  I guess because I had just read a quote from article and saw the link posted here already posted inside the other thread by Raoul it seemed redundant to me but in hindsight who cares.

It's a nice story about Morgan and I like nice stories about Morgan.

As the OP, I also saw the other story below mine and thought about a post with a link, but felt that this story, and Jordan, deserved a small place in the sun today, to say nothing about this Mlive piece being a bit more expansive.  Jordan's efforts reducing Ridley to an also ran were outstanding. Jordan Morgan has busted his nuts for this program and, on top of that, he is a fellow engineer, no small accomplishment when he is playing basketball for a top program.

So, again, Kudos to Jordan Morgan.  Our fate in the Tournament rests as much on him as Nick or Caris.

And since I am now parnoid about starting any more threads, here is a link to another good piece on Coach B, and how hard it is to beat Michigan on short notice.

"And we wouldn't be in the position we are without that man. Jordan Morgan. Our captain." - from the article

Through Morgan's play and, as this article demonstrates, through his attitude, what Beilein said above is absolutely the case. I really liked the fire he was playing with last night, doing exactly what this describes, showing that Ridley wasn't all that. Awesome display indeed.

I don't care if Bakari has to wake Jordan up at 3:45 in the morning every morning and tell him he sucks, so long as he keeps playing with that fire.  Ride this man to a championship.

We are in the sweet 16. played very well last night. Have a fifth year senior, who was left for dead one year ago, that has done nothing but continued to work hard and face his limitations head on and we have an over abundance of thread police. No offense people, but let's enjoy where we're at and where we're about to go.

It was enjoyable to watch.  Morgan had Ridley sucking air just a few minutes into the game. When Morgan is allowed to play (not called for ticky tacky fouls) he's more than held his own against other centers, despite what some ill-informed prognosticators write:

This won’t sit favorably with John Beilein and his Michigan Wolverines, who have struggled with opposing big men all season. Ridley will undoubtedly be the most dominant the Wolverines have faced this season.

Besides wearing out Ridley, I noticed Morgan seemed more aggressive offensively. He was calling for the ball a few times, and when he did get the ball, he didn't force anything but looked like he wanted to post up. Made good decisions all around. Michigan's tourney chances are looking much better the way he's been playing.

a bit of a red headed stepchild throughout his career; I get the vibe that he's heard so many times about how he's big but not that big, good but not that good, strong but not that strong, that since he's stuck with it and earned that little bit of respect, the light has finally come on and he ain't taking dat chit no more. Is love to have Mitch back, but I'm glad Jordan came to Michigan.

If only the rest of the team could have a little J-Mo. Toughness and being flat out soft is a problem we've had all year. Fortunately we've been able to shoot our way past it. However J-Mo is "100%, Grade A, MAN." and it showed vs. Texas. We need more guys to have a little of his toughness. IMO Beilein should always have a scholarship for a tough guy. Novak flat out won games for us. Morgan does the same. You need these guys as the glue for your team.
