Michigan vs. VCU Postgame (snowflakes) Thread
Your welcome
I think UNC is playing well right now, would rather face an over-rated Kansas squad
UNC wants to play an up-tempo game. We're kind of good at that. KU has the best shot blocker in the country and plays excellent half court defense. No thanks.
to Beilein. Found a way to keep generating open looks out of their press.
can totally lose his voice, the world may be close to perfect...
If you don't find Chuck to be hilarious then I'm not sure you have a sense of humor.
but so was Picktown GoBlue's comment
Oh, the irony
I LOVE EVERYTHING
Supporting case has been VERY supporting. We now have five offensive threats on the court at tipoff. Doubt we will matchup as favorably the rest of the way as we did today. That said, Trey must have at least one dominating game in the tourney, and Kansas has had a tough time this year against the top PGs in the country.
And, do not rule out another game against the Gophers.
SWEET 16!!!
Wow....just wow. Great game and Go Blue!
The only havoc in that game was the havoc Michigan put on VCU.
Dwyane Wade:
It's crazy sitting here watching Timmy hardaway JR do his thing in college. When I came to Miami he was like 9 or 10 yes old...
You know we played a hell of a game when our apparel supplier is our biggest complaint.
time for PANCAKES.
Prince is cooking.
My reply: "I'm sorry, but I only talk to fans of teams that have made it to the sweet 16. Get back to me when you arrive"
That's pretty close for a MSU fan - within a decade probably counts in his book.
And tell'em Internet began in 1973... Not that facts ever got in the way for a Sparty.
is, as WolverineHistorian mentioned, that statement was inaccurate. However, for accuracy, I don't think they made the Rose Bowl since a few years BEFORE the invention of the Interwebs.
So far I have youtubed and listened/danced alone to:
JayZ - on to the next one
The Victors
Muppet Temptation
Muppet hawain war chant
I'm a bit 2:30 drunk but it is awesome.
Spike played a great game, and was one hell of a play. He put the ball right on the money with his off hand...That was great to watch. I'm really happy for the team.
And he had a pretty sick behind the back, then spin to the lane. That was sick, the whole place went "Oooohh". Awesome.
I really hope we don't change our offense one bit for the next game. That will work against any team, not just the press. When we were dominating early in the year it was because everyone was moving and flowing to the basket. When we sucked it was because everyone was flat footed and waiting for something to happen. Even against a classic halfcourt D we've got to dictate the pace.
This X1000
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
BLUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cya in Arlington!
Sweet sixteen!! Can't wait until Thursday.
Let's hope big Ten keeps it up.
Touching piece on Payne right now. Love it when sports are more than just a game..
But it's not a huge surprise, is it? Haven't we been saying that this is a good matchup for Michigan, playing to its strengths? Haven't we said that once we get out of the physical, defensive B1G and it's libertarian officiating that Michigan would thrive?
And so it happened. The tournament is very much about matchups, and Michigan got two good ones to get to the Sweet Sixteen. I'm more pessimistic about the next two games, because KU and UF play to Michigan weaknesses, but I'm on board to enjoy another week of basketball talk.
What an awesome way to close things out in the state.

VCU's style was made-to-order for Michigan. While "Havoc" might put a lot of teams in stressful situations, it put Michigan in very advantageous situations given point guard Trey, finishers THJ & GR3, and other-guys-that-can-take-advantage-too McGary & Stauskus (MTJAS).
I agree that the next rounds will present less favorable style matchups. Other teams will take note of VCU's style versus Michigan and conclude "Don't do that" (Although I got downvoted for posting that before).

To remember our last Sweet 16, and it's just glorious. We looked like world destroyers and if we play like that every game, we're in damn good shape.
That was the most fun I've ever had watching a basketball game. GO BLUE!
