Supporting case has been VERY supporting.  We now have five offensive threats on the court at tipoff.  Doubt we will matchup as favorably the rest of the way as we did today.  That said, Trey must have at least one dominating game in the tourney, and Kansas has had a tough time this year against the top PGs in the country.

And, do not rule out another game against the Gophers.

My sparty co worker texted me: "congrats on making it to the S16 for the first time since internet was invented"

My reply: "I'm sorry, but I only talk to fans of teams that have made it to the sweet 16. Get back to me when you arrive"

Spike played a great game, and was one hell of a play.  He put the ball right on the money with his off hand...That was great to watch.  I'm really happy for the team.

I really hope we don't change our offense one bit for the next game.  That will work against any team, not just the press.  When we were dominating early in the year it was because everyone was moving and flowing to the basket.  When we sucked it was because everyone was flat footed and waiting for something to happen.  Even against a classic halfcourt D we've got to dictate the pace.

Let's hope big Ten keeps it up.

Touching piece on Payne right now. Love it when sports are more than just a game..

I love how the team played.

But it's not a huge surprise, is it? Haven't we been saying that this is a good matchup for Michigan, playing to its strengths? Haven't we said that once we get out of the physical, defensive B1G and it's libertarian officiating that Michigan would thrive?

And so it happened. The tournament is very much about matchups, and Michigan got two good ones to get to the Sweet Sixteen. I'm more pessimistic about the next two games, because KU and UF play to Michigan weaknesses, but I'm on board to enjoy another week of basketball talk.

What an awesome way to close things out in the state.

VCU's style was made-to-order for Michigan.  While "Havoc" might put a lot of teams in stressful situations, it put Michigan in very advantageous situations given point guard Trey, finishers THJ & GR3, and other-guys-that-can-take-advantage-too McGary & Stauskus (MTJAS).

I agree that the next rounds will present less favorable style matchups.  Other teams will take note of VCU's style versus Michigan and conclude "Don't do that"  (Although I got downvoted for posting that before).
