Block Limit?

This may have already been addressed...but is there a limit to the number of schools a coach can block transfer to? Or theoretically could Mora block him from any relevant FBS school by listing say, 80 of them?

Thanks

Can anyone speak to the quality of those Tiedman and Formby throwbacks?

Wife works

The wife is working nights at Devos Children's, so I'll be at Art Prize during the day.  Impromptu bachelor party that evening.  Most likely Hopcat and GRBC are on the short list for starter bars.

Glad I Could Help

Just a forewarning, he's going to be on the Fox Sports 1 pregame show with Erin Andrews on Saturdays this Fall.  Stick with Gameday!

Oh I Understand Completely

There have been times that I had to literally change the station because it was too much.  I just take him for what he is, entertainment.

I am a Paul Kuharsky fan though, he pretty much tells it like it is...which is not common for sports talk in the "south."

Door County

Headed there this Summer with my wife. Any suggestions/recommendations?

Traverse City

Cherry Festival over the 4th is always $

Wow.

That is the coolest henna tattoo EVER.  I got one of those on vacation once...and was so glad when it finally washed off.

Just Moved Back to MI from TN

Softball tonight, home showings in the Rockford area on Saturday, finally relaxing and having some beers on Sunday, possibly go watch the Tigers at Comerica.  Feels tremendous to be back in MI!

2011

This also happened pretty much every save opportunity that Valverde had in 2011 when he was somehow "perfect." Baseball has a funny way of eventually averaging out though.

Thanks!

Really enjoyed this before bed tonight. Can't get enough of this "family" atmosphere talk, and it's really showing its worth a far as recruiting is concerned. It certainly seems like it's 100% genuine, and makes me that much more proud to be a U-M fan.

Well...

They ought to be about what actually does happen, rather than what is expected to happen. I mean, should we hand Alabama another crystal football now?

BRAVO

These are amazing Heiko.  Well freaking done.  Obviously upset about the 2nd half of the OSU game last year, but this really opened my eyes to Borges' side of things.

In other words

I will feel free to splurge on Notre Dame and OSU tickets this year.  That home slate next year is just pathetic, not even meh...  Taking the wife to Chicago for the weekend and catching the game at NW in '14 looks like the best option.  Does that qualify for a home game?

Holy Cow

Just hearing him talk about UTL 2 years ago took me back for a minute and remembered that place just rocking...

Can we fast forward to 9/7 please???  I'm attending this one, hoping for another classic.

Spot On

Good call.  Golic does seem like a pretty reasonable guy.  He made a few good points about what other games they could possibly give up in leiu of U-M.  I get the Navy game and respect that, but Purdue???  Come on, man...

Fantasy Implications - Too Soon?

Well, hopefully this upcoming season he's classified as a QB, RB, WR in fantasy football leagues...he'd be available in very late rounds in my SEC homer league.  Not a bad potential wild card guy if he's really going to see 10-15 touches per game.  Plus, DILITHIUM.

Interesting.

I'm curious as to what ND slappy Golic has to say about the "chickened out' comment.  My guess is that Hoke plays it down as a little humor for the hometown audience.  You know...coachspeak.

Congrats

1) Congrats on the award!  Nice work.

2) Nope, that's it. See 1

MSU may want to...

MSU may want to just stay clear from anyone named Harris for the foreseeable future. It does not end well.

Life is good today

1) Working

2) Beginning to pack for early June move back to MI from TN...EEEEEEEEKKK

3) Pulling the trigger on some tickets for my Dad and little bro's 1st Big House trip

4) Finish with whatever stout is currently occupying the bottom shelf in the fridge.

GO BLUE

Franzen

Has just been the man...Go Wings!!!

Wow

Just stuffed myself eating dinner with the wife, but I'd still eat some of those.

Well Done

Can't get enough of this stuff.

Well...

I don't think that it was there originally, or didn't show as a link in my browser. My apologies.

Oh man

I just had a No Fear tee shirt flashback.

Appears to be a few ways

Click the banner...Brian graced us with a few variations in his The Hot Take: Divisions post.

This is just awesome

I don't even have to see Barry's highlights to get goosebumps.  Guy was on another level.

Final Two

But who's counting?

Coach B

The team was obviously well prepared today...that was the least stressful game I've seen in what seems like 2 months!

McGary

Holy crap McGary would be amazing at PG. Bull in a china shop, indeed.

This is nothing...

Think buying UM's opponents gear is bad? Wait 'til RCMB shares its thoughts on Jake Ryan.

Mattison

Now that Mattison is locked up for 3 years, can he assume a bench role as DC of the hoops squad?  UM could be trendsetters.

Fantastic

Great news to begin the weekend. Having the #1 overall '14 recruit on campus is probably a coincidence, I'm sure!

Follow this with a hoops W over Bucky...

Well

Losing $220 never felt better

Hilarious. I saw this in

Hilarious. I saw this in sticker form on my way into Nashville yesterday morning. Definitely made me laugh out loud in the car.

Well then,

It only makes sense that commit 27 would be #27, AMIRITE?

I don't blame him

Honestly, he jumped ship when the time was perfect for him.  He'd gone to 2 Rose Bowl games previously (legit), then was gifted a 3rd for his resume...that's as much as he could hope for.  I'd bet that Dantonio is wishing he'd have gauged interest after last year, as his stock may have peaked and he may have missed any potential opportunities.

Only problem I have with it is that is leaves the school you're bailing on hanging, along with the recruits that these coaches had built relationships with.  The NCAA obviously has more flaws than can be counted...but this is one of many rules that should be changed.  Make them wait until after the bowls to talk to potential suitors.  Maybe this would get the bowl games bumped up a bit a week as well.

Bama

I think that Alabama has proven that MANBALL can work in the SEC.  Problem is, Saban has no shame in bending the rules to the limit with regards to recruiting...so MANBALL at Arkansas will have to work without the best talent in the country year in and year out.  Good luck with that.

Or maybe

At least check a box score? Saw that too, pretty lazy on their part.

I don't

Have the opp to give you points but I would..

33-24

Michigan 33

Nebraska 24

188 rushing yards.

Similar Boat

Married a Buckeye alumnus, however, I graduated from GVSU and not Michigan.  I'm just a lifelong die hard fan from northern MI.  You sir are spot on in saying that there are more important things in life.  I respect her fandom and she does the same.  I even got her to the Big House for Air Force this year, much to the dismay of her enitre family.

Worst Time Slot Possible

I, unfortunately, have a good friends wedding at 4pm CST and will be able to catch about 30 minutes of it.  A noon kick (11am here) would have been perfect, a late game and I could have it on at the reception somehow, but 330 has me missing almost all of it.

As a kick in the nuts, it's on BTN, so I can't even stream it on the WatchESPN app due to BTN's non-agreement with Comcast.  DVR is just not the same...no way I can hold off until Sunday to find out the results.

Thank You Coach Hoke

Kudos to Coach Hoke, for proving that there CAN be a difference between an academic institution and a football factory.  Fitz and Clark could easily have been playing against Bama and sat against Air Force the following week, and it would have seemed to many to be the standard protocol.  Hoke decided to make the tough-love decision and I applaud him for that.

He should be commended for this.  Aside from being what I think is the correct decision, this helps restore a little bit of my faith in major collegiate athletics.

Go Blue!

I am.

I use the TuneIn radio app on my iPhone. I had no issues up until about a week ago, now WTKA shows up as "not available." Whatever that means. Actually happening with the local sports station in Nashville as well.

EDIT: See above responses.

Lived Here 5 Years

Depending on what crowd you want to be around and the time of the day/night/morning after it is, you can find pretty much anything downtown that you want.

For what you're looking for by the sound of it  -

Honky tonks and hole in the walls lining Broadway/2nd Ave are always a good time.  After 10pm or so you'll find lines (especially since it'll be high 80's and sunny all weekend) and the girls will be out with the sundresses and cowbow boots as usual.  TIPS - Many of the popular honky tonks (Tootsie's, Stage, Legends Corner, etc...) have back entrances via an alley on the back side of the buildings.  Often you can enter here without waiting.  Have cash on hand to tip the bands.  Some bars allow smoking still, some don't.  Some bars have bars upstairs as well, you'll have to wander a bit and see what you like.

The clubs are lame from what I've experienced so enter at your own risk...2nd Ave can be shady around closing time (330am ish), so beware of that.  Don't bother with Coyote Ugly, the place is an absolute dump.  Hot Shots next to Pirahna's (best burger in town IMO) is a self-proclaimed "Ohio bar" so there's that...yelling Go Blue! in there can be fun.

There is a Flying Saucer tap house at 10th and Broadway if you're craft brew fans.  They have around 100 beers on tap and that many bottled to choose from, and always rotate seasonal ones from around the world.

Division St. in the Midtown area west of Demonbreun has a bunch of great bars to start the night out at.  You can't go wrong with Loser's, Red Door, ReBar, etc...there will be plenty of Vanderbilt students as well as 30-somethings.  Great area to start the night off before headed to Broadway.  Cabs will not be hard to come by.

If you do Pancake Pantry for breakfast, expect an hour long wait to get in.  Worth it I suppose to say you did it, they do have good food.  Athens Grille down 8th Ave across from Melrose Pub is another good spot.

You could grab dinner at South Street, head to Midtown for a few, then cab it to Broadway to get crazy.  You won't be disappointed if you head to Lonnie's to end the night, but take cash as it's cash only from what I remember.

Maybe we'll cross paths this weekend amongst the SEC faithful.  Have fun and Go Blue!

Why I Love Sports

Stories like this are some of the reasons that I love sports.  The outcomes of games, win or lose, can seem completely meaningless in comparison to the hearbreaking and inspirational stories of young men like Eric LeGrand, Brock Mealer, Austin Hatch, etc...

You cannot help being touched emotionally by these tales.  Hats off to the Tampa Bay organization for this classy move.

Go Blue!

Fingers Crossed...

But expectations are also tempered.  My gut tells me he's verballing to FSU because of the lack of a CJ major.  Stranger things have happened.
