Happy First Day of Summer.

Happy Friday.

Happy Birthday to the Queen of Friday's, Rebecca Black. (I heard it on the radio)

Anyone have any fun/exciting plans for the weekend?

And the sun took the day off of work. What a slacker. If he wasn't already a nuclear fissioning ball of plasma he'd get fired.

1 year older, but none-too-wise... Headed North tonight to see if I can intercept a couple middle-of-the-night brown trout if the hex start coming off up there.  The streamside cigar and beers will be enjoyable either way.

so likely the Boardman and for sure the Boardman tomorrow.  But, I'm considering driving thru Grayling, so I could do anything along the AuSable(s) or Manistee.  If I did that I'd probably keep it simple and find a spot between TU and Wakely bridge.

This weekend will probably be a quiet one for the most part - my preliminary plan is to sit on the porch, read MGoBlog, and drink while I tend to the grill, although I am sure my wife will figure out something aside from these rather taxing chores for me. Actually, I am pretty sure that she will because the revised honey-do list usually appears about midday Friday.

The one thing I know I need to do is mow the backyard, which would mean getting the water out of the pool that my wife bought, as well as clearing no less than 1,000 toys from the yard. In preparation last night, I asked the kids to pick up when they were done outside. There are now about 990 toys out there.

The only planned excursion is to my in-laws to help them move some new furniture into their house. It's more of a complicated furniture exchange, and I am not sure how they are going to get a sofa from Canton to Romulus with only a minivan, myself and my brother-in-law, but I suppose we'll figure it out. As for stuff on the "maybe" list, we may take the kids to the zoo again, because the membership has to be good for something and my kids have this thing for watching the peguins stand there and look uncomfortable in the heat.

So glad I am not the only one waging a war on toys in the yard.  My oldest is starting to be much more helpful picking them up...put is becoming resentful that the others suck at picking up after themselves.  Parenthood.  Have a great weekend!  Go Blue!

nothing really taxing on the calendar this weekend.  Seeing some friends, playing some Left 4 Dead on xbox, watching a couple movies, and taking my son to the doctor saturday for his 18 month checkup.  Have a great weekend everybody!

He handles vaccine shots pretty well at this point, and only has 1 scheduled to be done, so it shouldn't be too bad. Plus Costco is right across the street from the Dr's office so we'll take him there for ice cream and free samples when we're done to cheer him up.
