I've been frequenting MGoBlog for about 3 years now and was an MGoBlogVoyeur for a couple of years prior. As users came and went during that time, occasional introductions were made amongst the user folk hereabouts. I've noticed a bit of turnover over the last few months and thought it may be interesting for everyone to share a bit of background. So, if you're inclined...

Most MICHIGAN thing you've ever done? (funny, memorable, etc.)
Me;
On the precipice of 50.
Marketing Director.
Born in TC, but live in MN now.
L.S.A. Class of '88.
The most MICHIGAN thing? I committed a foul against Gilvani Johnson in an intramural basketball game. The foul prevented him from completing a slam dunk. This turned out to be my team's sole victory in an otherwise not so closely contested 119-42 loss.
I'll join you
50's
Home renovator
Peoples Republic of A2
Another technical alum 4+ yrs in the COE
Most blue moment happened last friday. I moonlight as an UofM usher and was stationed at the north tunnel entrance of Crisler for the senior athletes celebration. Chatted with Harbaugh for about ten minutes as he waited for Jim Minnick to deliver him a jacket and tie. (he refers to him as Colonel). He was whisteling "let's go blue" while passing the time. Tried to tell him the names of the other coaches as they arrived --"That's John Paul , Lacrosse" --JH "That's his name?"
Age: 55
Occupation: Pastor
Location: Burbs west of Chicago
Alum: Philosophy, 1984
Most Michigan thing: None in particular. Will have to think about that. Could be attending Rose Bowls, could be playing ball at the CCRB with several former Michigan players, Glen Rice et. al.
You should start a little email subgroup--I can think of 2-3 LCMS Pastors I know who went to Michigan.
Are you one of them? I've met a couple guys at a Pastor's Conference, but never got their user name. My user name, otoh, helped them to id me as a mgoblogger as well as a pastor.

30's, Consulting/economic development, Live in NYC, From Virginia, went to UVA as undergrad. MBA and MPP from Michigan. Most Michigan thing ever? I don't know maybe grinding with M co-eds on the Rick's dance floor as a 30 something MBA creep. Or maybe the amount of time I spend on this blog. Also - why doesn't my Enter button work when I'm posting comments? Any help?
Steelworker.
Grew up in SE Michigan live in Alabama.
No college for me.
Most Michigan thing: Saved up all of my money and bought football season tickets when I was 14. Had to have friends and relatives bring me to the games.

Systems Designer
Toronto
I get a DNF on this but I'll likely finish up a masters sometime soon so I can slap the alumni plate holder on the car
Last summer Nik was back home working out and happened to do so at my gym. So yes as a grown assed man I found myself occasionally watching him running drills prior to my workouts to get pumped for my own. It's sad, but this is still cheaper than therapy
Age: 32
Occupation: Sales
Most Michigan thing: It's easy to support the team when they're winning, as they will again from now on, but I took flack through the Richrod years by still repping UM to the fullest. Also, 2014 Utah is my 2008 Northwestern. The weather was less miserable but the hope for the future at that moment was more in doubt.
Occupation: Owner of multiple martial arts schools/fitness centers
Location: Metro Detroit
Alum: Yessir, BA '10 Marketing
Most Michigan Thing: off the top of my head...the best thing I can think of is I had Hail To The Victors play for the intro and the exit of my wedding ceremony. My wife didn't really have a say in the matter...I'm still paying for it.
Dental student
Boston MA
LSA 2012
Most Mich: professor in charge of my life is a triple buckeye. I tell him every day that my UG education was superior to his.

Age: 50+

Location: Grand Rapids

Most Michigan Thing: Been to the Rose Bowl twice to watch Michigan, or maybe, Won a Lloyd Carr autographed national championship football at an alumni event.
Occupation: Grad School
Location: Cleveland (school year); SE Michigan (summer)
Alum: BS in Movement Science '14
Most Michigan Thing: Being in Ohio this year has been tough w/ OSU winning the Championship. The day after the game, I wore UofM gear and was able to keep the buckeyes quiet due to Harbaugh happening. Since then I had worn a variety of UofM jackets all around Ohio! Otherwise during undergrad, I don't know if it's the most Michigan thing I did, but I was able to help Denard out by participating in an interview for one of his classes!
Age? 21
Occupation? Student at UM/softball announcer for WCBN
Location? Living in Kerrytown, about a block from Zingerman's
Alum? Maybe in a year or two
Michigan thing? I work for WCBN (student radio) so I guess that's pretty Michigan. Also I played broomball goalie in the last IM season, so that's also pretty Michigan.
Age: 18

Location: Undisclosed
Alum: Will attend Clemson University this fall
Most Michigan thing: Continuing to be a hardcore Michigan fan even after moving deep into SEC country at the age of 8.
More specific Michigan thing: Attended multiple SEC football conference matches decked out in Michigan clothes
Good luck at Clemson. College is awesome! Stay strong in SEC country!
Me: 43, part time attorney, Michigan grad... I wanted to add "In Michigan victories and losses" after "in sickness and health" to the wedding vows, but husband thought that was a bit much.
Age: 27
Occupation: Attorney
Location: Lansing area
Alum: LSA 2010
Most MICHIGAN thing you've ever done: Four year member of the MMB.
43
Director of Operations
Seattle
BA-UMAA '93 MBA-UMD (proudly) '99
Broke up with a girlfriend in my 20's because she was an OSU grad and it was very clear despite our overall compatibility that there was absolutely no way I could ever stomach potentially raising a child with ties to that place. She ended up getting married to another dude. Their first child was a boy who just happened to have my first name. Coincidence? I think not. Pretty sure I broke her heart. Put one more on the board for UM. Winning.

not an M alum - Math/Computer Science at small D3 school, MS/PhD from Northwestern. Also started with Fortran on punch cards
Most Michigan - hosting MMB members in for The Game and letting them go decorate a Brutus yard ornament with Michigan apparel. Or, shaking hands with President Ford. Or being a Michigan dad.
Dang near 60
Director for business-to-business media firm
Grand Rapids
WMU, then seminary graduate
Most M thing: On my last night working at a newspaper in Minnesota, I brought in a boom box and played a Bob Ufer casette tape. Instead of being hacked off, that room full of Gopher and Badger fans stopped what they were doing and gathered around my desk to enjoy the show. Ol' Ufe absolutely mesmerized them.
Occupation Logistics
Northern Kentucky
Alum No. Couple small colleges and NKU.
The Fab Five practiced in my small colleges gym before a first round game. They stopped by our baseball game before they got on the bus. Got to shake their hands. I was the only Michigan fan on the team. So it was cool.

I hate these posts. They're lazy, intrusive, and don't add any discussion to the board.
I clearly understand that these type of posts may not be to your liking due to the lack of sports content and you are entitled to have that opinion and probably many agree with you. However, I am sure you know that this is sort of a sports dead period for most U of M fans, other than the softball team and the Tigers. So posts like these are put out there, IMHO, to just keeping building the MGoBlog community.
In addition, if you dislike these type of threads, then why even comment and that to after the thread is out there for 4 1/2 hours. But once again, you are entitled to vote/post as you wish.
BTW, did you hear that Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn have split up!!!

Stood by myself in a mostly empty section during the M Northwestern awful weather game of the RR era. My dad went underneath at halftime and never came back out. By the end of the 3rd I decided to save him and make the 3 hour drive home wet and cold.
