Martin taking an official to OSU this weekend

Submitted by jalenwestman on
Per Wiltfong, Martin will take an official to OSU this weekend. Urban was in-home yesterday. As I predicted yesterday, Brandon Justice put a Michigan cb in for Martin. That cb is worth about as much as you or I putting one in. Martin is still a grinder. Edit: Sorry! I got out of my lane. Lesson learned!

I'm really pulling for Martin to join this class. What's frustrating is when you have a guy like Collins who is telling you all the things you want to hear right up until the end so you have to put the brakes on Martin. It reminds me of that really hot bitch in high school.....never mind.

as you're making OSU. UM coaches (other than Pep) have a relationship with him and his family. Urban is dealing in snake oil - of course his snake oil is high quality snake oil. If UM really wants him, then Harbaugh will go inhome to close the deal. Right now, OSU is pushing hard to get in the game and they will likely land him if JH demurs.

taking an official. I would like to think the time Harbaugh has invested and the relationship with our commits pays off. Also Michigan has a better offensive scheme for a wideout. I think we win the day but it's not like he is checking out Rutgers or MSU for that matter. I am sure he is playing the revamped passing game with Wilson card.

time over the last 7 months to build a relationship. UM has recruited from behind on most top kids the last 2 years b/c this staff didn't focus on 2017 until late 2015 and mid 2016. However, Martin wasn't really pursued by the big players until 2016. More important than the past, the current HS coaches in Iowa do not advocate for OSU or others. UM starts on equal footing. Under those circumstances, UM is actually the advantaged program - if they decide to seal the deal.

Led for this kid the whole time only for Urban to swoop in at the last second... really...

Never understood why we cooled on him. "Silent commitments" are bullshit especially when drawn out to NSD.

I think I would prefer Martin > Nico.  Only because it seems like Black and DPJ are similiar to Collins, where Martin may be able to play more slot (especially if Perry does not come back).  Also his relationship with Dmac can grow into something special a few years down the road when they are recking the BTN! Harbaugh has been aware of this young man's talent for quite some time, but in true Harbaugh fashion he always strives to be the absolute best. Pretty much guaranteed a major improvement with the two new ones and the re-commit if he does not play safety. Must not forget about those already on roster that have contributed like McDoom. He felt that with Collins he would have a truly great haul instead of a very good one. But I believe Smart is engaging in SEC tactics and this has piqued his interest in the Bulldogs. Martin would be a great pickup and complement the receiving corp in a variety of ways due to being able to play both slot and outside. Think if we had made him a priority early, he would be ours now. I hope he does not feel too insulted by the slow play and I hope if he really wants to play for the maize and blue he realizes recruiting consists of a lot of twists and turns and he  accepts the offer.

This is just a classic case of Urban and Zach messing with UM. Little biznatches that they are. If I were in Urban's position, I probably would've strangled a guy like Smith by now. That's one reason I'll never be a D1 head coach. One of the many. Save your insults for your hand and mom's basement later boys.

This is why people think Michigan fans are idiots. Most think we are smug as it is, but every time someone here corrects another poster about there or they're or to too and then says "not to be that guy" just makes me think how lame that individual is and gets off on stupid shit.
