To be honest, I really don't want to Latwan, he seems like cocky kid who doesn't work hard.
Latwan Anderson considering Michigan?
At 17-18 years old it's a pretty fine line between confidence and cockiness isn't it? I think only time will tell which is more accurate. Besides, couldn't we use a little swagger on this team as long as he backs it up on the field?
I agree a certain amount of confidence is okay, but the fact that OSU held out for so long to offer him, I think there is a solid chance this guy is a cancer. I guess we can all have are own opinion, but personally i don't want Latwan in a winged helmets.
Sorry, not sure I follow your logic...
OSU not offering early == destructive, cancerous personality?
Does not compute.
OSU not offering because they were not sure about his character, does that compute.
That computes if true. Who told you that was the reason? If it was your mind making connections it still sounds like a ridiculously large leap in logic.
Nobody told him. He's clearly stated that it's his own opinion. Quit being a dick BlockM.
When did Ohio St. become the moral bastion of integrity...
Never, that's why them not offering because of character concerns for a kid at Glenville is all the more concerning. BTW you guys are such whiners, neg banging because I don't want a player? No one can have an opinion that differs from yours.
Not saying you can't have that opinion, and didn't neg you. Just curious how you came to the conclusion that he has a cancerous personality. I haven't done a ton of research on him, but from what I've seen he seems very cocky/confident, and not a whole lot beyond that. You could very well be right, I just don't see OSU waiting to offer him as a huge indicator of his personality, especially since they did eventually offer him.
The fact that he may actually end up at OSU kind of makes my point moot, but the fact that OSU didn't have him at signing speaks volumes. If OSU had wanted this kid earlier they could have. It really doesn't matter, Latwan isn't coming to Michigan annway.
Demar Dorsey wasn't coming to Michigan? Right now I'm thinking about making room for Seantrel...
neither was Shaw or Roundtree. All last second decommitts to us :). Heard it through the grapevine, but RR still has one more dose of snake oil left. Just a rumour...
OSU not offering should prove he has character... and class.
They didn't not offer Clarett because he had a few run ins with the law.
I try to stay away from the gramar police but lately the posts on this site are going to shit. One of my biggest issues in the english language is the use of a double negative........I'm going to have to single neg you for that double neg. Sorry
Another big one lately is all the of instead of have....i.e. "I should of gone to bed earlier". Should "of" does not equal should've!!!
To be honest, I really don't want you to post, you seem like a cocky kid who doesn't think hard.
I agree. I have never considered anyone for the neg-on-sight option, but mrider might just be my first. He is entitled to his opinion, but he should be a little less idiotic about where and when he airs it.
Makes the point better than 20 posts worth of logical rational argument. Thank you.
...we show him some respect and let the coaching staff decide if he's a good fit, character-wise.
Because mrider was DEFINITELY saying that he was going to storm into Rodriguez's office and hold him at gunpoint until he revoked Anderson's offer.
I'd rather have him think he was the best than the worst. I'd also imagine you would have a hard time finding someone who disagrees with that.
Not sure it will help much, but I'll pos-bang you on this one. I don't have strong feelings about Anderson either way, but you're apparently getting neg-banged because you think he's cocky, which...like...duh.
Keep on keepin' on.
Not exactly. You are missing two important elements - First, he is getting negbanged because he thinks he is cocky and, as a result, he doesn't want him at Michigan. This smacks of pompousness and a holier than thou mindset, something perhaps a lot of us are sensitive to, especially lately.
Second, an important aspect you overlook that I think many other folks are attuned to here is that recruits read this blog. mrider should be a little more strategic about where and how he states such a strong statement about a recruit that so many of us would love to get. All the negbangs are not just because mrider stated such a strongly negative opinion, they are partly because we want to show whomever is looking that we do not agree with mrider's opinion.
Perhaps he's saying that he doesn't want a reincarnation of Boubacar Cissoko, who waved demonstratively even when opponents made 12-yard completions against him. We were all complaining about that, but since mrider doesn't want to see that kind of stuff again, he's getting neg-banged?
You for one should know that one guy does not make a case - extrapolating from the behavior of one cocky guy to all cocky guys is typically seen here as a fallible approach (see any of many star debates you have taken part in - one person does not prove a point). And see my other points which you still seem to overlook - the extent of his negbang shows the extent of our disagreement. On a different thread, one whose topic was not about a recruit considering Michigan, such a strong but empty opinion wouldn't get this treatment. But he made his strong statement, and so did we.
You're right that one cocky guy doesn't mean the next cocky guy will act in the same manner. However, not many prospects come along that proclaim themselves the best player in the country, like Anderson has.
Wow, I actually didnt know that he said that. But then again, I kinda like it.
He said it months ago. It was something like, "When people ask me who I think the best player in the country is, I say 'I am.'"
That comment doesn't bother me. I like players who think they are the best.
I negged him for saying that his opinion is based on his perception that Anderson doesn't work hard. There is no reason to call him out for not working hard unless he has a concrete basis for saying so. The same goes for stating that your perception is such. In short, I negged him for being highly judgmental about a high school kid that he (presumedly) does not know without cause.
i'd be surprised if he didn't mean Miami. U of M for Miami is closer that the University of Ohio State is for OSU. Plus, Latwan was seriously considering the U throughout the recruiting process and never really considered us.
I agree but it wouldnt be a surprise if it was Miami. Atleast that was my thinking on it.
Some Random Guy: "Please tell me that UofM is Miami?"
Latwan Anderson: "nope its michigan"
yeah, who needs a great, 5* player with offers from OSU and USC in a position of need?
michigan is above every other program. thats why we win so many Nat. Championships.
how old are you
game, set , match
We could absolutely use another stud safety. Plus if he was considering WV, then it would seem he would be interested in Michigan by default. We are got all your coaches and pahokee recruits.
I feel like Graham is stomping the yard with Clausen's head
Bring him in! Can never have too many 5* safeties.
...would be awesome. That would allow us to put Dorsey at corner and be okay.
Imagine this in a few years:
CB: JT Turner
Or Latwan could play corner and Dorsey could play safety. I would get into man drills early with this crew and find out who's the most natural cover guy and decide that way. Also a lot of ball drills to see who's got the best safety skills.
If we add some studs at ILB in the next class, we will be loaded on defense in a couple years. Ahhh, back to normal, thank you.
Don't forget about Woolfolk.
The coaches might move Robinson down to LB and Woolfolk would be in at Safety.
He said, "in a few years." That's why Woolfolk was left out.
Dorsey will have made the switch to safety.
I wouldn't be too sure of that. Gerg likes safety-sized, lock-down corners. If he does well at corner he might stay there.
True, but I'm pretty sure both RR, Gerg, and Demar have said that he will eventually be a safety.
...like Cullen Christian and JT Turner. I still like Dorsey at safety.
...that he might not have to make the switch to safety if we had Latwan back there.
I have no idea if that lineup would be awesome or not. None of those guys have played, so it's pretty premature to make any conclusions other than hope at this point. I do agree that the potential is awesome, but no one knows how things will turn out with HS kids. The evidence suggests that put of those 5 kids, 2-3 of them will be good, and another couple will not live up to the potential we see in them.
that looks sweet, don't it?...
Dorsey and Latwan at safety, Turner and Christian at corner, MRob at LB, that would be sick.
This will not happen. Neither Dorsey nor Anderson is capable of playing FS.
You're right, Marvin is more of a FS and Dorsey and Latwan are the SS's(deep)
Or you can do this
Red Shirt: Dorsey
i would LOVE latwan anderson....holy shit
...think he's being recruited by some of the other guys in the current class?
make it happen!
Even though Latwan seems quieter in the interviews I've seen, both of them seem to be similar in upbringing. I think their personalities are alike and a lot of recruits want to go to the hot team, and wow is our young secondary hot!
That would make this defensive backs class amazing.
Or it could allow us to move Dorsey to safety and Marvin to LB
and I believe that is the plan as of right now, Marvin growing into the linebacker spot...oh man...the secondary, the LB's, full of stars-not that we care about stars- WOOT! OH YEAH! BABY!WE'RE BACK!!...sorry, got a little carried away.
I'm pretty sure MRob has stated he's being brought in to play the FS position, which is the in the box Safety. So moving him to LB probably won't happen unless he gets way slower than he is now.
or if we get a stud safety and want this stud safety, dorsey, cullen, turner, and robinson all on the field at once
I don't know why you were getting negged for that... I fixed it for you.
Besides Robinson, the only other player you listed who's capable of playing FS would be Turner.
Latwan Anderson is a SS/CB, and Dorsey is a SS/CB. Robinson is a FS.
Anderson's commitment would have no more effect on Robinson than it would have on Mike Martin.
Robinson should be moved to spinner! He's not a MLB fit but he fits Stevie Brown's role. He can come up on the run and drop into zone coverage.
Plus all the recruiting services can't decide if he's a safety or a linebacker. This way nobody needs to choose!
Latwan to Michigan? That would be amazing.
I got to think he means Miami. I know it has Michigan under the names in Rivals but it doesn't even have Michigan listed on scout. And he was considering Miami pretty hard early on.
But I'm down with dreaming so we'll agree he meant Michigan
As someone mentioned earlier in this thread, he replied saying uofm meant michigan
He already confirmed that he meant Michigan. As did someone in this thread.
Edit: rman beat me to it.
...saying the same things about Dorsey and Michigan.
Does anyone know what time he is supposed to be making this announcement?
If I understood his status correctly, he will announce the 17th, but decide with his parents today.
Hmm, I took that as the date he finished high school.. But, then again, that doesn't seem right.
While I think he would definitely help the secondary, I don't really want to pick him up due to the scholarship count. As far as I know from other posts on the board and blog, we are already one scholarship over the limit if everyone qualifies. If Anderson gets added, that moves us even farther into the Saban zone, and I don't like that.
Unless I read posts with faulty math, in which case go ahead.
I have no knowledge on exact numbers but I do believe that we are at or near the 85 scholarship limit right now. But if Latwan wanted to come, I'm sure a scholarship would be found, probably from a fifth year senior. I agree that we need to stay away from the Sabanesque stuff, but as long as we dont start cutting people based upon flimsy reasons and heavily suggesting transfers, etc we should be fine. I'm sure people more in the know (The Other Brian, Brian, TomVH, etc) could probably shed more light on actual scholly numbers.
Still I do agree with most everyone, excited with adding a player with the ability of Latwan, but definately not holding my breath. Probably WVU or OSU would be my guess. Anyone have any insight on why he didnt sign with WVU? Got scared due to all of their decommits?
Don't think this would be an issue since he'd take the scholarship previously saved for Sean Parker.
Dorsey already take that scholarship? I previously thought that was just a straight up swap. I'm probably wrong though. I usually am.
RR indicated before signing day that we'd sign 26-28 recruits. We were at 26 commits at the time which left room for 2 additions (i.e. Parker and Dorsey if they both wanted to come).
I'm pretty sure Rodriguez said that we could have potentially gone to 29 (back when Knight was still in play). That being said, I agree that if Latwan actually does want to come to Michigan, the coach will (most likely) make room.
Even with all of our commits. And we could up that number to two by withdrawing Kinnard's offer, seeing as he's having trouble qualifying (although that goes into very shady territory, that I don't think we should go into unless we are very sure that Kinnard won't qualify, which isn't the case as I understand it).
Number one being he's a LB recruit (desperate need) that also got looks from PSU.
As Biggie said: Fuck the State Pen, fuck hoes at Penn State
I was thinking the same thing as Lutha. we were after Parker & Dorsey.
OMGOMGOMG! Not joking whatsoever. If he came here that would give us the most ballin secondary ever! No one would dare pass on us. Whoever is in the know keep us posted on this. Thanks for the info. Today just got a lot more exciting. GO BLUE!
Wisconsin will still run over us all day long. Why can't we get Bill Romanski to coach our LBs and slip bottles of steroids into their chocolate milks?
Not going to get my hopes up, but it would be great to have him.
Totally agree with MichMike, we would be super young in the secondary but with Dorsey, Robinson, and Anderson somehow in the mix, we would be very exciting and hard-hitting. Plus we would probably have a whole lot of dancing going on
From what I've seen of Dorsey. As long as it happens after all his many pick-6s and third-down stops, I'm cool with it.
I think I read somewhere that Latwan wants to wear #6 so he can be called "Pick 6". Imagine "No Fly Zone" and "Pick 6" patrolling the secondary. Aww Yeahh.
But my attitude about cocky football players is, if you don't like it, beat them. Let's hope he announces for UM on the 17th.
Adding Latwan would bump us up from great to excellent....
Our secondary would be frightening...absolutely frightening.
It would be a "No Fly Zone" in the truest sense of the word.
Having said that, I'm not holding my breathe.
He would be a great get, especially since we break the Glenville Pipeline
I'm holding my breath for two, so you're covered.
Yeah, I'm almost more excited about where he went to high school than the player himself. It would be nice to get our foot in the door at Glenville, now if we can just do a little work in the Detroit PSL...
but thinking about the catastrophic meltdown that would ensue on bucknuts.com warms my heart.
The entire state of West Virginia.
Ahhhhhhh... there's nothing like the sweet smell of burning couches first thing in the morning.
That there might be the last straw, get ready for invasion! Muskets and 'coonskin hats, oh my! I'm sure Ohio would allow them to pass through their state.
Cue the Freep.
I haven't talked to him in a long time, but logically it doesn't look good.
He's only been on campus for a camp, and never for a visit. So, if he's deciding in 10 days, I doubt that it's us. Not to rain on your parade, but it's probably nothing to get excited about.
But, like I said, I haven't talked to him in awhile, so who knows.
Get out of here with your unbridled realism, you fact-mongerer.
The thread the other day about another kid we quit pursuing, who could have played right away, with the OP assuming it was Gholston, yeah, it wasn't. At least that's how I interpret this.
I feel like this thread is a portal into bizarro logic world. I just don't get the connection. Why would we be back on his radar?
Perhaps you just answered your own question, and we have stepped into an alternate dimension.
Because we are awesome
This I agree with. I am not asking why he would consider UM, I just didnt see the connection between Latwan being the guy Webb was referring to and this new development. It seems like it would be the opposite conclusion. But TIMMMAAYY clarified it below, so no more confusion.
I don't mean to suggest that we in fact are back on his "radar" at all. I was just pointing out that the previous thread was about the wrong guy, IMO. I figured it would be confusing and wasn't going to post.
I can't find the original thread now, so I can't link it. I think it was by PurpleStuff, maybe...
Basically it said there was another blue chip prospect that we more or less passed on because of some trouble in his past. Sam Webb said that he could have played right away, and the OP figured it was Gholston. I'm just saying that I think it was Latwan, that's all. I probably should have just left it alone.
see my post a couple of days ago (that was given the "Not another Dorsey thread" treatment) comparing their stories...
It was pointed out that the story didn't mention actual convictions... according to some there were (juvenile) and UM basically (not the coaches) wouldn't go for it.
I just looked at that thread, it's not what I was referring to. I can't find the thread I'm thinking of, it was just a few days ago. Maybe it was deleted. The OP named Gholston specifically, Magnus later suggested that the OP not name Gholston, while naming Gholston himself.
It was Gholston in the OP.
I'm saying that the real mystery "other recruit" was SF. I'm agreeing the OP was wrong, but it wasn't b/c it was Anderson, it was SF. I tried to allude to it via my aforemetnioned post (sorry to confuse you further). Rumor has it Floyd wanted to commit, but we wouldn't (i.e. couldn't get everyone involved in the admissions decision to agree to) take him.
Make it happen RR! We could use a ballhawking safety/CB to replace the hole that was left by Parker going elsewhere. Oh, and opening up Glenville would be nice as well.
For what it's worth, Ohio State is out of the picture entirely. Jim Tressel said no more defensive backs in this class in a press conference, and OSU pulled his scholly offer according to other sources. Search Latwan Anderson on Twitter and you get the info.
My excitement aside, its not good that Tom hasn't gotten wind of this at all, since he's usually abreast of even the most minor mumblings.
And Coach Rod didn't seem to be leaving the door open for another player. Unless this was a super-secret recruitment of some sort, the whole shocking the world thing probably has more to do with involving M than actually picking them.
I say that with the heaviest heart—his commitment would make this probably the strongest defensive class since we signed Woodley et. al., or stronger.
I sincerely doubt that OSU wouldn't take a five star safety if the said five star safety wanted to come, had no major academic/legal issues, and had scholarships to give.
Same goes for us, with standards that are perhaps above OSU's.
Why does rivals say he is commited to WVU? I seem lost on this one..... and I thought my obsessing about teen boys was done for a few months.....
He committed a while ago but never signed the LOI because he was unsure.
Get the Glenville Kid
im a big fan of the new avatar... u earned it.
Care to make any bold predictions on this one?
I haven't seen it mentioned in the 60+ responses but when I first read this "Shock the World" immediately made me think it could be Michigan.
He would be a GREAT addition. I hope to heck this happens.
I haven't been stalking him, but after this story broke I went to check the message. It seemed to be that he includes that phrase in all of his posts. So I wouldn't put too much into that.
But still...fingers crossed. He would be a really nice pickup.
Clueless. What does this picture mean?
google "shocker", the wiki for it comes up as the first hit.
(warning NSFW language guaranteed, wiki article has no NSFW pictures...though it's most likely double NSFW if you google image search)
Thanks. I'm a better man now.
I'll believe it when he's a junior living on Geddes.
I think of that every time I drive past Geddes.
Maybe Latwan thought Tressel was going to leave the door open and is coming to Michigan as revenge....
As long as we're in another dimension, I thought I'd post my hopes.
if one's goal was to piss off the entire states of Ohio and West Virginia simultaneously...I can't think of a better way than attending college in Ann Arbor.
He's going to Concordia? I KNEW IT
Well if OSU did in fact pull his offer that means that it would be between USC, WVU, and us apparently correct?
Any news on when he is announcing today?
I'm not going to worry about the whys and wherefores. The kid is talented. We need more talent. Ergo, I want him.
Apparently he doesn't have an offer from OSU anymore:
FWIW, I really hope he goes to Blue, but probably not for the same reason that most of your hope he goes to UM.
Ok - enough with the vague statements!!! Some of us (meself included) are a bit inferentially challenged today. What is your reason?
I'm going to assume it's because he thinks Anderson is an OMG-super-evil character who will cause radioactive fallout in the locker room.
So was that before or after he called OSU fans a bunch of d-bags?
If he said that, he's got an automatic offer from me... for what thats worth...
Reading the BuckeyePlanet recruiting thread on Anderson is hilarious.
"Kid is going to be a stud! Hope Tress offers soon"
"Well, our coaches know what is going on, he has character issues"
"Oh man, he's just waiting to get his grades in order. OSU is his dream school. Glenville = Lock"
"If he chooses WVU it is because of grades and nothing else, he wants to be here"
"We're back in it. Ginn Sr = Lock"
"I don't want him. We should only want players who want to play for us"
It is funny how familiar those statements seem (and I've never been to any other school's blog)
No doubt, every fan base seems to go through that cycle. The advantage to that place is you can chronologically watch the mayhem, hypocrisy, and blatant lies unfold.
all ur 5* DBs are blong 2 us
From what I've read he was expelled from Lakewood St. Edward for shoving a teacher and then enrolled at Glenville. I think he's one hell of a football player at a position of need, but if we get him the Freep will have a field day.
Saying that, with RR's record for keeping troubled players on the straight and narrow, I hope we can land him.
That sounds somewhat vague.
not sure. i wasn't in the room, but it was obviously bad enough to get a kid expelled.
Just like I said in my comment above, I've read it places, mostly in comment sections of articles. I don't care one way or the other, I think RR can handle his players as well or better than any coach in the country.
It's not really that hard to figure out. If somebody did that to your girlfriend or wife or daughter or son, I don't think you'd be struggling to figure out what "shove" means.
• Did OSU really yank their scholarship offer?
• If so, why?
• IF they really did, and IF it was due to concerns about his character, shouldn't that give us some pause before we clamor to add him to our 2010 class?
It's an article of faith among the vast majority of UM fans and especially MGoCommenters that Mr. CheatyPantsSweaterVest runs a dirty program populated largely by thugs that we would never deign to have sully our program. Yet when some suggest that a player who might not meet Tressel's standards wouldn't be someone we'd want either, all of a sudden those attitudes about OSU are forgotten. That's cognitive dissonance pure and simple. Or hypocrisy.
Shoving can cover a huge range of things, depending on the context. What I am questioning are the surrounding circumstances (such as what high school he was at, what their standards are, was shoving the teacher the sole reason he was expelled, etc.) as well as exactly what he did? For instance, it could have been a light shove (definitely not appropriate in high school) combined with a lot of other incidents that led to his expulsion. On the other hand, he could have pushed the teacher into a wall (which approaches the realm of assault). In other words, what exactly did Anderson do to get expelled?
Other questions are important here too. For instance, did this occur when Anderson was a freshman or a junior (or a sophomore, I suppose)? Has he ever had any legal troubles? How do the people who know him describe his character? I could go on, but I imagine that you get my point.
Finally, your questions are logical, but I disagree with your assertions that a) most Michigan fans think that Tressel runs an unusually dirty program and b) we are demonstrating cognitive dissonance in this matter. We do not know that OSU withdrew their offer due to character concerns, so making a preliminary judgment because of this would be stupid. Furthermore, I think that most Michigan fans will agree that since Maurice Clarett (and arguably Troy Smith's NCAA business) OSU has run a reasonably tight ship as far as legal issues go. That said, when they do dumb stuff, we'll still make fun of them, because they are, after all, Ohio State. Which is exactly what they do to us, only they are for the most part less intelligent about it because, once again, they are Ohio State.
What difference does the strength of the shove make?
If you're questioning whether he shoved the teacher or not, that's one thing.
If your opinion of him is based on HOW HARD he shoved the teacher, then I advise you to rethink your position.
As I have admitted before, I was not a model citizen while growing up and got in lots of trouble in school. Depending on the kids a teachers view of an occurance will change, for instance:
A straight A student is running down the hall and turns a corner into an oncoming teacher. He puts his hands on them as he moves out of the way to avoid running into them but because of his speed the teachers flies into the wall.
Because of the student, nothing likely comes from this. If this had be me running down the hall and the exact same sequence of events took place, I would have been expelled on the spot.
Now I am not trying to insinuate that Anderson is like I was as a teen or that I know anything about what took place during this event, just that a shove isn't necessarily a shove.
Depending on circumstances, I would have no problem with a student shoving a teacher......then again, I was once expelled for punching the principal in the face when he tried to break up a fight I was in.
So in your example, the straight A student wouldn't have been punished so severely.
But a less-than-ideal student would have been punished severely? So...in other words...the student in question who might have been expelled would STILL have had to have done things bad enough to warrant an expulsion for such a minor offense as pushing a teacher as he was running down the hallway?
I fail to see how this would defend Latwan Anderson in any way.
I am very concerned about offering someone who got expelled period. That said, I think there is a big difference between chronic misbehavior that included shoving a teacher (which crosses a line no matter how hard) lightly and led to expulsion and an incident tantamount to assault. If the former is the case, I would think about offering him, if he can convince the coaches that he has become a better person and reformed his behavior (a la Dorsey). However, if he did something that would be considered a violent crime (pushing the teacher down, pushing the teacher into a wall, pushing the teacher very hard, etc.), I wouldn't even consider offering.
Whatever the case is, it seems clear that Anderson has some baggage that needs close scrutiny. The question is whether he represents a Dorsey-level risk (acceptable) or simply should not be offered.
Who cares about the Freep, they'll find something wrong with Michigan no matter what, if it helps us win a national championship then thats all i care about
I think I'll need the super secret decoder wheel to figure out where Latwan will end up.
My guess is he ends up at WVU. If not, then based on the list he provided I would think Michigan is a strong possibility. This would be unreal.
But after cracking the super secret code, all it said was: Be sure to drink your Ovaltine.
Ovaltine? A crummy commercial??
Son of a bitch!
Could this have anything to do with Tedd Ginn Sr. being a little more welcoming to UM coaches now. I remember reading a few weeks ago when Latwan was looking around that Ginn was more open to us.
Either way this is a good for UM. If he goes blue Latwan has a great chance at seeing action this year (I do not see any freshman starting at safety until possibly late into big ten season)but he will get on the field for special teams and back-up minutes. A 2011 secondary of the following would make me feel very comfortable
Nickel: Cullen and Avery
If Anderson commits this would have to move us up the list of best recruiting classes. I think our coaching staff has done a great job putting this class together. Anderson would just be icing on the cake.
He would be the ice cream to go with the cake
Look who Latwan reminds Rivals of. Not to bring up sore memories, but if anyone is still hurt over that recruitment its really time to get over it anyways.
I doubt he comes here, as others have said he hasn't come up for a visit, only a camp and that was a while ago. Throughout the process he has never been all that high on M and I expect that whenever he announces, he won't commit here.
qualifying would be a problem?
I'm not an expert like the guys on [email protected]all.com but this is one of the best highlight films I've ever seen.
he has great instincts, great speed, and hits like a ton of bricks..... Getting him, would be AWSOME!!!
...however, let me (and the McGuffie fans out there) caution you against passing judgment based on a highlight film.
I agree that Latwan is legit based on who he has offers from and the ratings from all three scouting services, though.
McGuffie didn't prove anything. He played as a true freshman in a new system on one of the worst offenses in Michigan history. Give the kid a break.
that highlight film just took away any character problems for me. that guy can bring the wood and is just a great player from the looks of that.
That would be a great add in my opinion.
I talked to Stephen Hopkins, he is working on Latwan. No response from Ricardo Miller yet.
Unless you actually know Hopkins or Miller, this is pathetic. Leave it alone.
Outside of him/friends of Latwan Anderson, the people commenting on his status about where to go need to be dong punched. So freaking pathetic.
things might have changed in Latwan's thinking. I would love to hear 100,000+ Michigan Fans shouting "Pick Six" as this player runs to the end-zone. With Dorsey and Latwan pushing each other, good things could happen for both.
Interesting to see this come across here today. I had just seen on Rivals a day or two ago that he didn't sign a LOI with WVU, so I figured something like this was in the works. This would be a nice little late gift!
I'm not a facebook stalker but do stalk the WVU sites every so often. This was posted yesterday by a WVU fan facebook stalker.
Latwan Anderson -- "LIke The GReat "ALI"...im bout to shock the world...****** the last one was cute as ****....but she just might be the cutes thing i ever seen no lie brah you gotta see her she ridiculous and oyu already know ima need her to dothat one thing aha....eating my food...columbus later...then who knows signing in 2weeks feb.17"
My translation... I think I'll surprise my Grandmother by visiting her in Columbus during Easter vacation. She's so cute when I make a surprise visit. My Grandma is one amazing cook and her food is rediculous -- she's going to do her thing! No lie brother. Then, who knows, I might sign a letter of intent on Feb 17th. The letter of intent means that I, as a prospective student-athlete, agree to attend a designated college or university for one academic year.
I went to his FB page, and Anderson said within the conversation that he was referring to Michigan. He also has Shock the World written on the left side of the page and has several UM players as friends. I don't know if it really means anything but FWIW he said Michigan...so Go Blue.
Just when I thought I was done obsessing if the stud safety would commit here...wishful thinking IMO but if this happens its exciting to think of all the possibilities with all this potential..No Freaking Fly Zone
Hasn't visited, shown no real interest, not coming to M.
in the signing day presser (he said that right at the end.) He was mentioning this wrt signing another O lineman. He specifically said he would have to take away a scholarship from a receiver to do that. I think he was talking about this in a pluperfect sense - not in a future sense.
Earlier he mentioned that one or two guys might not qualify. Regardless to sign another would call for some movement somewhere with one not qualifying and counting one back to make 27=25.
I'm wondering if this would be contingent on a second recruit not qualifying?
We can always release mrider from his scholarship.
Dude, he doesn't have a schollie. He wasn't rated by any recruiting site (not even a one star). He is a sub par poster and takes 60 seconds to type 40 words....a 60-40 time is poor.
He was a walk-on and has done nothing since joining the team to earn a schollie.
I realize that he's been here forever and is a part of us, but how would freeing up Tacopants' scholarship make things look for us? With all of the passes thrown his way over the years, he has never caught a single one.
Apparently OSU was recruiting him to play offense and not defense. Also he was asked if OSU pulled there offer and he responded how could someone take something i rejected at the AA game. So might explain why he didnt like OSU
Years ago i had a friend that fell under the same circumstances. The teacher happened to be condescending and got kicks out of playing the tough guy role on his students. My friend asked politely to use the restroom and the teacher decided to poke him in the chest while stating "no, now introduce your backside to your seat". My friend pushed him out of the way to head towards the restroom and was suspended indefinently. He went on to get his GED, has a job, home and family now. He's never been in any sort of trouble since.
My point is, without knowing the circumstances, I reserve any judgement. Although teens can and will make trouble, often times the teachers in high schools can be just as problematic.I don't think this single occurrence should give him the title of a trouble maker. He may well end up being an ideal student athlete. Even if this is a telling sign of this paricular kids attitude, who better to keep him on the straight and narrow then RR.
Looks like Latwan Anderson to visit USC this weekend.
