Jourdan Lewis NOT GUILTY on both counts.
http://www.mlive.com/news/ann-arbor/index.ssf/2017/07/jury_finds_nfl_ro…
The jury, made up of four women and two men, deliberated for a little more than an hour.
A player accused and found NOT guilty? That's the Michigan difference, Sparties. Can't wait to read the "the fix is in, Blue Wall media" excuses at RCMB.
Why the hell would you read anything on that board?
it can provide comic relief when having a bad day.
For me it's usually the opposite. I usually end up more pissed off after reading any rival board.
I hate myself
Awesome. Resolved swiftly and before he enters training camp, he'll have no distractions.
His ex should receive repercussions for false accusations. Unfortunately, the system sucks.
Remember, NOT GUILTY is not the same as INNOCENT. Just because the jury is not convinced he did it, doesn't mean the jury is convinced that she lied about it.
Technically you are innocent until proven guilty.
defending himself from a very emotional an aggressive wild eyed woman. The smart thing to do we be to avoid woman like this one and live and learn.
It is not easy to avoid lightskins with a big booty ! I have overlooked craziness for this very reason myself !
JD has carried himself through interviews and actions as a thoughtful young man with integrity. I am genuinely happy for this verdict. And I think he should ditch this girl.
...at work.
Pictures?
Else the jury would have believed her story. Res ipsa.
Or, the jury simply did not believe that there was enough evidence to support her story, Beyond a Reasonable Doubt.
I'm not trying to throw Jourdan Lewis under the bus here. He seems like a really good guy so I had a hard time believing what he was accused of. I'm just very uncomfortable when the response to "defendant found not guilty" is "the accuser's a lying @#$%! How can we make her pay?". Things are rarely black and white.
"She should be held responsible" is not the correct take here. She did not make the charging decision. He has a remedy in an action for malicious prosecution if he so chooses, albeit a very difficult one to pursue and win. This is a very good outcome for him though. Very good news.
Well considering Jourdans defense attourney didn't call any witnesses to the stand, and rested immediately after the prosecuter did should show you how full of shit her story was.
That's... not what that means
In the eyes of the law, it is.
EXACTLY! JD seems like a great kid, and from the vague knowledge I have of Nikole she seems to be pretty upstanding herself. This unfortunately is a fairly common domestic disagreement that ended up in a courtroom. Hope the best for both going forward that they don't have to deal with anything like this again.
The worst he was accused of was pushing her with a fucking pillow. This isn't anywhere near aFrank Clark case in the worst case scenario.
She lied and said he choked her and later recanted. She doesn't despute his story that he only hit her with a pillow, only that it was hard enough to constitute assault. She admitted to hitting him multiple times.
This isn't a hung jury situation. Not only is Lewis fairly certainly not guilty of a crime, she's the one that should be charged, but that's not how our society works. Instead a guy loses millions for defending himself.
You are correct, sir.
Yeah! I'm sick of being a victim! For too long men have been oppressed by courts and the tyranny of women. I think it's about time this "society" starts doling out equality for men and women alike.
So I guess what you mean is that even thought a jury of his peers decided that he is not guilty of the crime for which he was accused of that we all should act like he is guilty of it? Stop dropping acid for a few weeks man.
Just because JD didn't commit a crime doesn't mean she is a liar. I believe she experienced real enough trauma that night to press charges. I believe that she believes she was assaulted. That shouldn't be discounted.
JD has always publicly been an upstanding guy and a quintessential Michigan Man, so I was always skeptical about her version of events. That doesn't make her a liar. If a domestic issue ends with a police report, the emotions of the people involved were certainly running high enough to distort one's (or both) reality.
After following this case, I believe she believes she was assaulted. I believe JD could have handled the situation better, but did not commit a crime.
Good. Hopefully Jourdan stays positive about the whole thing, as it would be easy to become very cynical. With all the crazy shit going on in the world sometimes it's hard to realize that the vast majority of humans are, in fact, very good people.
While it has always seemed like he had a good head on his shoulders, he got an early reminder of how quickly all of his hard work could be taken away. Go ball out in the League.
Yes. A really unfortunate situation but this will definitely benefit him moving forward.
He now knows he's a target and this "lesson" will be a constant reminder that all of Jourdans success can be gone in an instant. Surround yourself with honest, decent people.
Good.
Seems like the right outcome, given what I've read of the trial.
Why would someone neg this comment on an M board? If someone thinks it was the wrong outcome, reply saying why with support.
I've been hit with a pillow. Does that now constitute domestic violence? If so, the jails would be full.
Good for Jourdan. After following the proceedings on Twitter today, it's sad he had to have his name dragged through the mud for the last 4 months on those trumped up charges.
He bet on himself and won...as he should've since he knew/felt he'd done nothing wrong.
I'm very happy for him, he's a great young man and I wish him all the best in the NFL. I think he can find a niche as a dominant NB. Teams have to find an answer for these little Slot WRs who just eat defenses up. I think that's where Lewis can shine.
Awful for him to go through this, but now he can concentrate on his (very bright) future.
Actual domestic abuse is a terrible, always avoidable thing. False accusations of domestic violence are relatively as bad because the system too often assumes an innocent accused is guilty.
In the future, please align yourself with a quality partner, there are others like the person who falsely accused you who will attempt to ensnare you. It's easy to be vulnerable by such folks.
You've learned a difficult lesson. Keep your eyes on the prize and make good decisions going forward. The world is your oyster, dude. Best of luck to you.
And may the accuser find personal help. That is all.
There are a few out there who take issue with my statement, "[a]ctual domestic abuse is a terrible, always avoidable thing. " Shame on you.
was the only thing you said. It's shameful to twist things around like you just did.
It does not become you oh beaked one. Carry on and mind the gap.
Hmmm, nice deflection but your post was pretty sanctimonious.
For sure. If women would just learn to not burn the toast or iron his shirts wrong, she wouldn't get the shit beat out of her. Easy.
Be careful out there.
where a football player can just get away with violently assaulting a young woman ..... wait. He hit her with what? A pillow? She called the police because he hit her with a pillow? Seriously?
Ahhhhhhahahhahahahhahaahaha.
They should arrest her .......
The real issue is that she lied saying he choked her. If her original police report had simply consisted of her saying he hit her with a pillow, it likely never would've gotten this far (although in Ann Arbor you never know...).
Unfortunately, a more accurate picture of our world also contains Ray rice and Joe mixon.
Who is the asshole downvoting everything?
Probably sparty. After their season and offseason, wouldn't you too?
LMAO. First comment on that twitter...
"So that means they [Cowboys] cut him, right?"
