I thought he retired midway through the season?
Either way, thank you, Jon! Irreplaceable.

His replacement took over on Monday, but today is apparently his actual last day in Schembechler.

My favorite story is the one that Bo gets stranded on the side of a highway when his car breaks down in the middle of a storm and cars just go buzzing by for an hour or two until finally Jon sees him and stops. Bo get in the car and starts bitching about everyone just driving by and not stopping to help him out and Jon says something like, "Coach, you did lose 5 games this year."

I wonder what he is going to do tomorrow? I can't imagine working in the same place every day for that long and then one day just not going.

Couple years ago, my father-in-law bought me Falk's book as a christmas gift . Being the good gift giver that he is, he thought it would be cool if he could get it signed for me.
He tracked Falk's office number down online and gave him a call. My father-in-law played for Wisconsin in the early 70s and was recruited by Bo. He and Falk went story for story about the good old days for over an hour. Thought it was cool that he took the time to do that.

I had the opportunity to visit Capitol Varsity, in Oxford, Ohio, where a man named Russ Hawkins has done the helmet painting for Michigan since...well, for a long time. Got to talk with him a little bit about Jon, and I was just left with an unbelievable impression of the man.

Congratulations and many thanks to Jon Falk for his decades of tireless service to the University Of Michigan and its football program.
In addition to his duties here, he was also the executive director of the Athletic Equipment Managers Association for many years and has won Equipment Manager Of The Year and the Lifetime Achievement award from that organization as well.
Best of luck in retirement, and again, thank you for helping to keep our favorite football program running as best it can each day.

His stories are incredible, and I only heard the one about Tom Brady and the "my favorite championship is the next one" story.
Gonna miss him, he represents everything that's good about this program.

a gold watch upon retirement, it would have to be Jon Falk. And the watch would have to be Maize rather than gold.
May you have a long and enjoyable retirement, Big Jon!
