"Iowa has faced 2 better RB's than Haskins"

This is an actual quote from a podcast from Black Heart Gold Pants site (go to 31:50 for the quote).

What does PFF (or OSU defensive line) know?

If they think Hassan Haskins is only the third best RB that they have faced all year, I don't think they will have any idea what hit them after the dust settles on Saturday.

I assume one is Braelon Allen, who had one great game against Nebraska, one awful game against Minnesota, and a couple others where he smashed the dregs of the conference. The other? No idea.

I don't know....maybe they are on paper...I don't look that shit up. But I will put my bottom dollar on Mr. Haskins getting Michigan a 1 yard gain to win the game and will roll with it.

That young man along with the amazing offensive line has earned my and I think the majority of the Michigan community's respect.

I assume Braelon Allen of Wisconsin and Breece Hall of Iowa State. Hall led FBS in rushing last year and is potentially gonna be the top back in the draft next year, so objectively that's fair. Allen is a massive reach though.

Even if they have faced two backs better than Haskins, that hasn't been in tandem with our OL, Cade, our WRs, Corum and Edwards. That's just willful ignorance by Iowa fans at that point.

Similarly, even if HH is the 3rd best back (which is disputable for sure), it mostly irrelevant if the other two are really good. What's positive about playing a really good RB just because he might not be as good two other ones they faced? Secondarily, RB's are really dependent on OLine, so it's not even super worthwhile to talk about a RB in isolation.

Underrated point.

And it's not like they really stuffed the other two.  The Wisconsin guy ran for >100 yards (and Iowa got creamed) and ISU bottled up their own guy by having him run 16 times against 43 passes.

Yeah, Hall and Allen are the backs in question. OMG, you want to fire up the team? Let them listen to this podcast! They're backhandedly complementing Cafe, and just flat out dissing Hassan. These two are literally looking down their noses at our offense, bringing up Rutgers and how if Mertz hadn't gone down at Wisconsin, and how against Ohio State we just ran a bunch of end arounds that they couldn't handle. I need to hear what they say about our defense...

Breece Hall from Iowa State is a very good back.

Wisconsin's freshman who did not play against Michigan has been tearing it up in the second half of the season.

The important thing is which two they consider the best after Saturday, not before.

I mean, the funny thing is they got their ass kicked by Wisconsin and Bryce Allen went for 104 yards on 20 carries. So what is the point?

You've gone up against a comparable back to Haskins and lost badly. Is that the point? Not to mention that team lost badly to the one you're about to play.

It's a weak year for RBs, but Breece Hall is widely considered to be the #1 or #2 back in the 2022 draft pool. I haven't ever watched him play, but you can infer that this means most pundits consider Hall to be "better" than Haskins. Of course, Haskins has another year of eligibility ahead of him (thanks COVID), although not sure he takes it.

I think it's also tough to just look at names and stats here. Haskins is going to be lethal for two reasons:

1) We have 4 emerging WR threats, Donovan Edwards coming out of the backfield , a QB who is elite at pre-snap reads, and a hell of an offensive line. You can't just be like "well we are gonna shut down Haskins" because we will beat you other ways if you try. There's a reason OSU didn't just put 8-9 guys in the box to stop the run.

2) He doesn't give a shit and he'll run you right-the-f&%k over anyways. If he doesn't hurdle your ass.

Wisconsin has a good back (finally) but they can't throw the ball to save their lives. Iowa State has a good back, but they're a flawed team this year. There's nobody else on this list who compares to Haskins anyways, but we will be hands down the most complete team they've faced this year, and if they want to  try to shut down Haskins, they'll do so at their own risk.

I have seen two RBs all year that I would put on the same level as Haskins. One would be Kenneth Walker III, and the other would be Mo Ibrahim (was basically Haskins vs OSU before he got hurt vs OSU). And a fully healthy Corum may be the best of them all.

He's a really good player, and will likely be better than Haskins.  But this year, I'd lean Haskins.  That one tackle Hawkins made where Henderson lost balance and went down was notable to me.  I think Haskins stays on his feet for 30+ yards.  I remember thinking other OSU backs would have made that play.  Henderson will in a year or two.

I would not agree but if you want to make an argument that Breece hall is better then fine he has over 1500 yards and 6YPC but who is the second RB better then Haskins

Might be true, hell, Corum might be better than Haskins in terms of pure skill. I can tell you which guy defenses get tired of tackling in the second half and don’t want to see carrying the ball, and that’s Haskins.

This sounds like a couple of guys that looked at stats and box scores, but haven’t watched much non-Iowa football.
