If our offense doesn't show significant improvement how disappointed will you be?

not expecting much if anything from our defense and I don't think our final record will be too good because of our lack of defense, but I have to say that with the raw talent that I think we have on offense, that if we don't have at the least 7 wins and one of the top 3 offenses in the B10 that I will be very disappointed.

Molk, Schilling, and Omameh is as talented an interior line as you'll find anywhere. Little iffy about our situation at tackle, but I think in this offense what really matters is your interior line getting out to the second level, and well we have as athletic an interior line as any.

The receivers are very talented. Stonum and Grady have the kind of explosive speed to create big plays. Roundtree and Odoms are very solid players. Hemingway has shown flashes - when healthy - so hopefully he stays healthy.

Tight End is deep with Koger, Webb, and Moore. Koger has freakish athleticism for a TE and if he just catches the ball he's the best TE hands down in the B10. There isn't a TE in the conference with his raw athletic ability.

Then at RB while we don't have anybody separating themselves from the pack we have a guy with great agility and hands in Vincent Smith, a guy with eye-popping physical ability in Michael Cox, a true speedster in Mike Shaw, a guy with maybe a little bit of that all in Fitz Touissaint, and a true frosh battering ram in Stephen Hopkins.

Not to mention we finally bring back a pair of QB's with some game experience in Denard and Tate, and oh yeah, Denard is probably the fastest football player in the entire B10 and he plays QB.

So yeah, if we don't have an explosive offense then I will be completely disappointed. A LOT of talent on this team, and the majority of the players now have experience, so if they don't make a major move forward on offense...consider me bummed out!

Very?

Also, if our team is just terrible, how angry will you be?

If our team is phenomenal, how excited will you be?

If Mr. T punched you in the face right now, how in pain would you be?

I'm pretty sure we wont have to worry about the offense not making improvements.  But, if we regress, that would be very disappointing.

By the way, you use the word "raw" alot.

... the offense actually run the zone read well.  I'm not an expert, but the last two years it looks like they aren't even attempting it, or are doing a poor job of it.

This offense improved by leaps and bounds from 2008 to 2009 and there's more than ample reason to assume the same will be true from 2009 to 2010. For the first time in the Rodriguez era, we have a starting QB with at least one year of experience in the offense. We have an experienced and healthy offensive line. We have a stable of running backs who understand the system. And we have the size and speed in the outside and slot receiver positions to implement the kinds of bubbles, end arounds, and jail break screens that are a staple of Rodriguez's offense. If we aren't twice the offensive team we were in 2008, I will be sorely disappointed.

I'm a little confused about the answers you were hoping to get in this thread?

If the offense regresses, we will all be very disappointed.

But what if the offense steps back statistically, yet we still win 8 games?

What if the defense overachieves significantly, making up for the offensive slump?

My disappointment level will be related to how well our team does AS A WHOLE, not the statistical improvement or regression of a certain unit.

or even just the same.  Although at "just the same" they would still score plenty of points.  I would be stunned if they are not better.  I don't think I would use the word disappointed.
