He accepted a grey-shirt scholarship. From my understanding of it, he has to pay a semester of tutition out of his own pocket (or wait a semester I suppose) but after that he is on scholarship for the winter term of his freshman year.
I'm not talking about an every-down back by any means, I'm thinking of LaMichael James towards the end of the year for the 49ers. He wouldn't need to run it as much as Best did because the Lions have a workhorse back in LeShoure or at least they think they do and they didn't have that guy when Best was around.
The more I think about it, the more I would like the Lions to draft Denard in the fifth or sixth round, where CBS Sports has him going. They need someone to replace Best's role on the team, and Denard measured in exactly the same as Best (5'10'' and 199 lbs) and practicly the same 40 time, 4.34 for Denard and 4.35 for Best. Additionally, I think Denard is better suited for a RB spot rather than WR in the first place.
I would assume he's a celtic for the rest of his career but he would look awesome in those sweet powder blues and orange but maize and blue would look the best...
Bummer. He was one of my favorite players on the team. Something about that picture of him with the State title game MVP trophy but looking so crushed since his team lost made me want this guy to succeed so badly. Best of luck to him wherever he goes.
Lattimore is only a sophmore so he won't be in the draft but keep in mind that they drafted Leshoure in the 2nd rd last year. Also, not a response to you but I don't want to make another post but whoever gets martin in the 4th is getting a steal.
Oh, man that block was awesome. From where I was sitting in the student section, I was able to see it coming as soon as stonum turned upfield and I'm pretty sure my thought "Oh man...." and then pow.
Great to see that the QB Iso was being worked on, hopefully that means the "QB play-action huh oh" is still around as well. Also great to see Vincent Smith looking very fast as others have said.
Vincent Smith has a ton of muscle on him, not a guy you want to pick a fight with (Sat next to me in a class this past spring). It wouldn't really surprise me if he was right around 180, I would give it 2 or 3 fakes out of 5.
I see BWC at the CCRB every once in a while playing basketball and is always really nice and funny. Same thing with Chris Barnett both really nice and friendly guys.
Well I'm just glad that the NCAA reportedly aren't done with their complete investigation into the entire program. This news has restored a small amount of hope in the NCAA.
Going on off what you talked about above, I would think (really just my personal opinion/hope) that the rest of the class will end with:
1 WR for sure
O'brien
Dunn/CB/WR
Diamond/CB/WR
The coaching staff seems to really want another elite CB in this class but I think the only way that happens if Dunn or another OL (probably Diamond) doesn't commit.

IIRC Jarrod Wilson was planning on it and was on track to do so, so it would put total commits up to 28 if scholarships are available.
