The last week has had strong December 2014 level insanity vibes and I am here for it. Looking forward to hearing Harbaugh is staying from a local weather reporter in Dallas whose uncle was Jack Harbaugh’s neighbor in Kentucky.

I would say 33/33/34

33 wanted him gone

33 wanted him to stay

the remainder was resigned to the program being in mediocrity that no coach was going to break it out of until OSU took 3 steps back.

the remainder (me included) were thrilled to be wrong, and 33 that wanted him gone are probably happy they were wrong too.

Is it really that crazy? It's a result-based industry with 12-15 data points a year

Harbaugh did (mostly) everything we asked him to do except beat OSU and win a big ten title. Last year they looked the furthest from ever doing so they've been under Harbaugh and then they had probably the greatest one year turnaround season in school history. Chizik and Orgeron both got fired two years after winning a national title. Ryan Day is probably another 2-loss season and home loss to Michigan away from looking for a new job. Hell, if Saban went 0-12 next year, I guarantee you Alabama wouldn't receive too many complainants for firing him. Entire programs and dynasties can be built or destroyed in one year in college football, can't stay idle for too long

Yes it's true, I am one of those that wished Harbaugh would get swept away by the NFL.  There was nothing about the 2020 team or the trajectory of the program that led me to believe he was going to succeed in the future.  But I am ecstatic this year turned out the way it did.  The recruiting class exceeded expectations as well.  And now I have a ton of faith in JH and staff going forward.  He changed my mind and I am grateful.  Life can turn on a dime, for better or worse.  I do give you credit for seeing past all the turmoil and staying true.  Good on you.

So what do you want me to do?  What's my debt to you?  It's best to just forgive and forget.

We have to stop with the whole “you all wanted him gone last year, now you want to keep him” diatribe.

Listen - Most people are both rational and irrational with their arguments i.e. I mean they lead with some combination of both emotion and reason. Emotion tells people after the 2020 season Harbaugh went 2-4 and looked completely out of sync all season long, Covid or not. He also had a big 0-fer against OSU and even record I think with MSU. It’s easy to see why people at that point would lose faith and want a change of scenery.

Now that he’s seemingly got the coaches and fixed some major flaws while he crushes OSU and wins the B1G championship, of course people want to keep him. It’s sports and fans attitudes change. In fact, that’s life in general. So please, if you’re going to keep going back to this argument, use some perspective before calling the MGoBoard out. I’m glad he’s our coach and really hope he stays in AA.
