I've met a couple of *really* anal-retentive people who believe A gives the operation a "neater" look. Whatever.

Present your case here why B is better than A... is it a matter of aesthetics? Is B simply more harmonious in terms of Feng Shui? I can't think of a single reason this is more functional or user friendly than B. I cannot relate unless I have been enlightened.

I do have a cat, but she (thankfully) does not disturb the toilet paper. I think I like the alignment of the elongated planes of the toilet paper line and wall. Even on the fancy stand-alone toilet paper holders, the line of paper against the side cabinet of the sink/opposite wall is neat, organized and aesthetically pleasing. Alternatively, option B is messy, and I feel like it comes off quicker/easier (even though it doesn't) which makes me think that if I spin too aggressively I will 1) waste a lot of toilet paper or 2) risk having to re-roll.

The empty space behind the wall for opt. B is a visual dead space that allows the paper to wave in the breeze more, not to mention possibly getting caught up and tangled with passing clothes.
If the t.p. holder were recessed in the wall, there might be more of a counterpoint for B, but for modern surface mounted designs, A is the clear aesthetic choice.
From a practical stand point, A re-rolls back onto the roll easier than B, in case a toddler goes nuts.

Aside from the pet and toddler responses there is alos one very good reason to use A. When I use the bathroom and need a piece of toilet paper I like to employ a one hand ripping motion. When it is in the B position this almost always cause the roll to spin out of control, leaving a giant pile of TP on the floor to either be rolled back up or discarded.
In the "A" position this method can be easily done without incident. This is the biggest reason I choose position a, even more importnant than the fact that I have quadruplet 2 year olds running around (though it does prevent them from playing with it too).

I find I interchange A and B, since I don't really care which way I put the roll in. However, I have always preferred tp to be "at large" near the toilet, where the best elements of A and B come into play.

article was on the Detroit News the Monday after the loss to Iowa. To sum it up, Brandon said that wins and losses arn't the only thing that factor into the decision on Rich Rod's job status. Hopefully this stance hasn't changed too much in 2 weeks.

I have heard that Brandon's default position is too keep Rich. He is looking for reasons to keep him, not get rid of him. DB values consistency and knows that you cannot have constant churn at the head coach position and be successful in the long term. Look at Notre Dame or any of the flash in a pan programs that we have seen of late. Notre Dame can't get its feet under them because they are changing coaches every 4 or 5 years. A Cincinnatti, for example, cannot maintain its success because its coaches are getting poached every few years after a good run.
Who knows what is going to happen at this point. Just win and everything will take care of itself.

At the beginning of the year, I thought 7-5 would be good enough, and that goal remains within reach, although there is very little room for error. I don’t think Brandon would find 5-7 acceptable, so the real dilemma is at 6-6.

generally evaluated on past performance and future expectations. Let's try this with RR.
Past: Horrible, but everyone knows this
Future performance: This is where it gets interesting. The Offense is great (#4 total offense in the country). The Defense is a disaster (#106). However, next year with Wolfolk coming back and the 3 freshmen corners (and JT Floyd) having 1 more year of experience, may become about average. Having an average D, with a Top 5 O, equals a pretty good football team. Also, our punting will improve and kicking can’t get much worse, so special teams should improve.
The question is, how much is the next guy going to be over RR. I don't know, but unless DB has his heart set on a specific coach (like Harbaugh) who may bolt for a new job, it probably makes sense to keep RR for next year. What may even be more interesting is if Michigan fans/ doners rebel at having RR around for another year, assuming we only win 5 or 6 games total.

People who are worn out on this or think it has been discussed again and again, need to live with it. Saturday night opened the flood gates and people are going to talk about change.
Don't necessarily agree that a head coaching change must be made, but if people want to talk about it, I can choose not to read it.
Folks laughed and poked fun when it was suggested by me and a few others after about game 3 to really enjoy those wins. A lot of the same people who are bathing in negativity now.
We'll see how it rolls.

Aesthetically, I like A, and would prefer to go that way if I wasn't incredibly lazy. I have to admit, i've switched back and forth and tend to be streaky and inconsistent. Currently I'm rollin with B, and it seems to be the norm lately, but our daughter is 8 now and our puppy is nearing 2, so maybe that has something to do with it. We'll see if we revert back to A with more kids in next year or so, i'm rooting for A to make a comeback.
