FoxSports: Michigan - The Most Interesting Team in the World
FoxSports attended the Michigan @ Illinois game as part of their College Basketball Road Trip. Due to the annihilation, the writers decided delve deeper into the background of Michigan's players from the media guide and found them to be the most interesting team in the world. Most of the stuff in the article is already known to most Michigan fans, but I never knew this one: Caris LeVert is the third cousin of Eddie LeVert, the lead vocalist of the O'Jays.
Google search for Eddie Levert's twitter and you find this tweet from a week ago:
Eddie Levert @Eddie_Levert Feb 24
Well!!!!MY COUSIN BE BALLIN FOR MICHIGAN LOOK OUT LEBRON GOTTA SHARE THE THRONE WITH A LeVERT
Yes, interesting indeed.
That article is freaking priceless. Do you think they had a lot of doubt in the outcome of the game for very long? ? ?
LeVerts everywhere.
Both our player and the R&B group are LeVert - no "a".
tourney meme born?
I don't know why we wouldn't do it.
I don't always watch basketball, but when I do I watch Michigan.
The writer forgot to mention the time Beilein had subs. Craziest story of all.
Isn't that just an MGoMeme?
Right over your head.
Nice find. You can imagine the writer being bored out his mind by the middle of the 1st half and saying "well time to google these kids and see what I can find" lol
I also didnt realize until this game that Max B rides in such style - apparently his parents have some buildings on the Illinois campus named after them.
Jon Horford carries a hacky sack at all times? Thats very Jon Horford of him.
A hacky sack with writings by Sun Tzu in pre-dynastic Chinese script printed on it.
"Horford is known to carry a heavy-sack with him at all times and he cooks a mean soup, according to his official bio."
EDIT: Wee Bey Brice above beat me to it.
Nik Stauskas: Just a Shooter (TM).
Spike Albrecht: Just a guy who asked Kate Upton out over Twitter (TM).
If they won the NC, do you think Kate would,,,,,,you know.... with Spike just to show her appreciation?
Verlander would understand....
I would think a Final Four appearence should have at least gotten him some . . . you know . . . other favors from her.
They don't grow on trees you know.
but what's so interesting about "Win the game"?
Austin Hatch shout out at the bottom. Love it.
It's probably selfish and short-sighted to think of our team as the most interesting, because every team has good stories when you study them deeply enough, but I have to believe the last few years of M basketball have been some of the best. The cast-off/underdog stories, the quirks each of the guys have, the famous relatives, nearly everyone has something interesting about them.
Isn't Nik's dad in a rock band too?
Crunched some numbers. Some immediate observations: GRIII is shooting more per minute than I would have expected and is fairly efficient; Beilein has a TON of faith in Irvin to let him shoot as much as he does. Wish JoMo could spend more time on the floor :(
(the guy talking on TV) was THAT Dan Dakich, I am sure some of you are wondering where my cave is that I am living in, but that is interesting. I never knew that, Oh and my cave is in Clarkston the 348 dude. By the way, has it quit snowing out there? Because I am getting the worst case of cabin fever I have ever had........ HAIL!
Oh and Stauskas just hit another 3 on the Illini.
I heard that they would have named MSU the most interesting team, but Izzo had the shits and was unavailable to answer the reporters' questions..
