Forecast is windy and rainy in Evanston for Saturday, fun times
The chance of rain has gone from 10% to 30% to 60% the last few days so it is likely to be wet out there so you can be cold and wet watching the game (the decision to buy tickets seemed so smart a few months ago). The x-factor will be if the prediction holds for 20+ mph winds which could really affect the passing game along with the rain. The coin flip could be huge since the winds are predicted to come from the south where the bleachers are relatively low on that side of the stadium. This may hinder someone badly in the final quarter. I mean, we wouldn't need any advantage in the fourth quarter since we will be winning by so much since the running game will be fixed, amirite??? ..... [insert Stewie Griffin slow "yeah"]

Doesn't matter.
Rain, sleet, wind, 12 man front, whatever.
Players have to execute.

Oh boy, sounds like the 2008 game.

Not many more things miserable than that. Watching Michigan lose an 8th game in 34 degree weather in snow, sleet, hail, and rain.

I think I like our chances better without rain.
November 14th, 2013 at 6:27 PM ^
I think we played better in the rain against MSU. IIRC, it was raining the first half and not the second.
November 14th, 2013 at 8:28 PM ^
and I was going to provide some valuable insight as to exactly how much it was raining in the first half and the second, and then I realized that due to my brain, toes, and every other part of my body being numb at the time, I don't remember shit.

The first half of your post actually made me laugh. Thanks.

Thank you for adding more fuel to the tire fire that is my fathers day present. If you are in Chicago feel free to come over and kick my dog while you are at it.
November 14th, 2013 at 10:05 PM ^
Sounds good. One kick for every negative rushing yard (sacks included). If it gets above -90, I'll take pity on your dog and stop.

run, run, run the balllll.......oh wait
Sigh
November 14th, 2013 at 5:55 PM ^
Are we still expected to have a huge fan contingent there? I hope Michigan fans who bought tickets aren't having second thoughts.

You know that ''We Ready'' song they've been playing before kickoff lately? They should make another version for Michigan:
Weeee fucccckkkkedddd
Weeee fucccckkkkedddd
Weeee real fuccckkkked
Thiiissss gameeeee

I have a feeling this is gonna be like the 1998 game. Dark, downpour and a mess of a shredded muddy field.
November 14th, 2013 at 7:55 PM ^
But no Justin Fargas.
November 15th, 2013 at 11:09 AM ^
Agh! I was holding it together the past couple of weeks until just now. Fucking Fargas...
November 14th, 2013 at 6:12 PM ^
meh. Does not matter.
DG hasn't been right since Hoke pounded his chest after the ND win. Don't beleive me...Check the on field post game ABC interview. (Sorry no link provided) It has been down hill since then.

I thought he looked good against Minnesota and Indiana.
November 15th, 2013 at 11:14 AM ^
Of all the explanations of why this team is struggling, I like this one the best. I mean, it'd be pretty amazing if the offense totally collapsed because our coach broke our QB's ribs or something by punching him in the chest.
EDIT: Now with evidence!

I think I have seen that move in Mortal Kombat. No wonder the guy has had issues.
November 15th, 2013 at 11:30 AM ^
Oh my god, I wish I knew how to do stuff on the computer, because I would total make a GIF of a Mortal Kombat fatality with Hoke and Gardner's faces. Scorpion pulling out someone's heart or whatever. Damn, my lack of actually useful computer skills!

I was hoping to do a tailgate somewhere, but we may just go to a restaurant in the area. Either way, my wife and I are looking forward to the trip to Chicago. Go Blue!

According to the National Weather Service, they can expect wind gusts of up to 35 MPH in Evanston on Saturday night as well. That could make special teams an interesting experience if the punt or kick is either against the wind or trying to cut across its path. Of course, for those of us here in SE Michigan, that will be our weather about six hours later, so there is that.
November 15th, 2013 at 10:20 AM ^
I'm in the south endzone .... so here's to that 35 MPH "breeze" coming out of the south!
Go Blue!

I'm pretty sure it was at home in the Big House vs. Wisconsin.
November 15th, 2013 at 1:02 PM ^
Yes - in mop-up duty at the end of the game. A casualty of our "grass" field, which by November was little more than a mudpit.
November 15th, 2013 at 1:08 PM ^
I seem to remember it was just a freak tackle, not necessarily the grass. A friend of a friend was working in the ER when Justin came in that afternoon. Looking at the x-rays, they were pretty much certain he would never walk correctly again. It was about as bad of a break as he could get.
November 14th, 2013 at 7:23 PM ^
We did air it out a decent bit against MSU even though it was against terrordefense and in soggy conditions so we might do it again here. However, Borges may be encourage my Northwestern's shaky performance and feel like he can manball it up instead. I predict a frustrating combination of both as usual

Guys, we just need to coach them up better so they can get their fundamentals right, resulting in better technique and eventually execution.
November 14th, 2013 at 8:31 PM ^
Everyone will EXPECT us to run on the first play of the game, so we'll pull our MSU gameplan out and PA it on the first play. But THIS time, we'll get the touchdown. Boom. Seven points right off the bat. I foresee no possible problems.
November 15th, 2013 at 5:49 AM ^
November 15th, 2013 at 3:52 PM ^
That is what PA means.
November 14th, 2013 at 8:44 PM ^
All of our Problems are over:
The rain will be no problem once we unveil Wishbone Formation on every play with Kerridge, Green, and Fitz or Rawls or Hayes. Boom!
November 14th, 2013 at 9:23 PM ^
. . . Oh crap
November 14th, 2013 at 9:42 PM ^
Borges probably had a wet dream over this weather.
Off tackle
Tackle over
Off tackle
Punt
And, after we really get Northwestern sold on our run with our -20 rushing yards, we'll break out that PA on 2nd & 12+.
