Dee Hart Officially Gone/To Bama

Submitted by DGDestroys on

Just received this tweet from URecruit's Jeff Contizano

Orlando FL. RB Demetrius Hart has eliminated Michigan. Down to Auburn and Alabama.

So the most dramatic recruitment that I can remember is over. In a way, this is almost a relief.

EDIT: I don't have premium, but there appears to be an article on the front of Rivals that suggests the same.

EDIT EDIT: He then promptly turned around and committed to Bama?

Looks like Hart has already committed to bama.

Just got off the phone with a source and Dee Hart has committed Alabama.

Evidently he's wanted to for a while now?

I love to see a kid like Dee Hart want to commit to a school so bad and that school finally accept it. He is ecstatic and I just love that!

Also, see comment from JC3 further down the thread.

Yes I forgot Richardson will probably go pro after next year. There is also a possibility that Bama gets Isaiah Crowell which would hurt Dee a lot to get playing time. I believe he's going to Bama though, he said there was a 90 percent chance him and Clinton-Dix play together.

Not surprised, so much negative going on surrounding our program, won't be surprised if he isn't the last one that has already committed to decommit.  Again people can be changed prior to signing day, after all Auburn was once out of it for Dee as well.

remember when we were 5-0 and about to play MSU, and Hart committed the night before that game?

Oh well. One more spot for the other remaining targets.

Does this mean Justce Hayes is a RB now, or is he still a slot (my guess would be slot still). Bring on Thomas Rawls?

but i'm going to say that we're stacked with mediocre running backs. theres no one to compliment denard. sure vincent can catch and block well, but if he gets more than 5 yards on a carry it's usually because you can drive a car through the hole. maybe i'm not being understanding enough, but you'd think one of our running backs would have a good game once this season. dee hart was hopefully going to be that playmaker, not anymore though

Kinda makes me wish I'd spent so much time and energy contributing to those genius threads about whether or not Dee's decision will influence Brandon's coaching considerations...

PS-  No, not really.

At first blush it's surprising that Auburn is still on the list of so many top recruits with all that's going on, but the f'ed up thing is that the Cam Newton fiasco may actually help Auburn's recruiting.

<br>"Look, Ma, Cam got $200k to play football at Auburn and faced no consequences. If he can fetch that much, why can't I?"

Agreed, this kid was starting to remind me of Alex Legion.  Nevertheless, good luck to him... it's just that I don't have any patience for the drama.

No need to panic, we have plenty of good depth in our back field.  Fitz will be a great back if he can just stay healthy.  The world is not ending!!!

Good luck Dee!

I'm glad and there shouldn't be a meltdown about losing him. It would have been great to have him but that ship has sailed. We will be ok and I think we all should be prepared for losing some guys on the team and in this class.

I really hope people don't start flipping out over this.  The coaching situation will impact UM much more significantly than Dee's decision.

If we get Harbaugh, for instance, we will gain a lot more over the next year or so in terms of recruiting than we will lose. If we get an off the national radar guy like Hoke, I expect to lose a lot more than just Dee.

There is much more to worry about right now than regarding UM than this one recruit.

I believe Dee saw the writing on the wall.  Can't really blame him since he seemed to grow more enamored with the idea of playing in the south as the weeks went on.
