Ride or die. What a warrior.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:52 PM ^
... and that is what captains do!
November 27th, 2018 at 7:57 PM ^
I would be pissed if my last college play was a faceplant on that shitty field in Ohio too. Good call, Bush. Really going to miss having him on the team.
November 27th, 2018 at 6:56 PM ^
When the fuck did NOT playing in the bowl game become a thing? It can only be a few years now.
November 27th, 2018 at 6:59 PM ^
Gary is not 100% and will likely not be 100% for the bowl game. Why risk further injury?
November 27th, 2018 at 7:02 PM ^
Question comprehension FAIL.
November 28th, 2018 at 9:11 AM ^
Well if it's ucf, that's like leaving five free sacks and ten tfl's on the table.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:27 PM ^
I think the 2016 bowl season was when it became a "thing". That year Fournette and McCaffrey, who were both dealing with some type of injury, announced they would be sitting out to focus on the draft.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:44 PM ^
If they sit out for being injured, that's one thing. If they sit out for fear of being injured, that's something very different and (at least IMO) quitting on your team.
November 27th, 2018 at 10:06 PM ^
You don’t owe them anything in a meaningless money grab bowl game. I think fans have a bigger problem with it than teammates do.
November 27th, 2018 at 11:21 PM ^
....so using that logic, all the 1st and 2nd string should sit out and stay at home and let the bench warmers go at it. Heck, once you are eliminated from conference contention, you should sit on the sidelines.
November 28th, 2018 at 4:48 AM ^
Yes. Competitors compete. If you love the game, you play.
November 27th, 2018 at 10:53 PM ^
Ask Jake Butt how he feels
November 28th, 2018 at 4:50 AM ^
I imagine that, if given the choice again, he would still play in the bowl game that year. Why? Because that young man was a leader.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:55 PM ^
And Jpepp
November 27th, 2018 at 9:16 PM ^
Jabrill did not "sit out" the bowl game, he was injured in pre-game. Unless you believe the conspiracy theory.
November 27th, 2018 at 9:49 PM ^
It’s a thing when you’re a top 10 pick in the draft.
November 27th, 2018 at 11:05 PM ^
Around the time of the mainstreaming of "the internet" people's access to information has exposed just how extractive, exploitative, and sociopathic america's economic landscape and culture has become as each decade passes.
Everyone is allowed their own freedom. However, from an economic standpoint, for someone like Devin Bush, there is ONLY downside to playing in the bowl game. Again "from an economic standpoint". He has noting to gain, and anything to lose.
And seeing as how american culture (left, right, whoever) also ONLY make decisions from an economic standpoint (from corporations to hospitals to even schools/universities--hello adjuncts! goodbye living wages!), has lost pretty much any and all ideals.
It only makes sense that that will trickle down into daily life.
Hell, "dating/flirting" is now swiping left or right on an app...
November 27th, 2018 at 11:06 PM ^
Since Jaylon Smith lost about $20 million on a questionable hit against OSU in a meaningless
bowl game.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:00 PM ^
One of my favorites. I’ll miss him next year:’(
November 27th, 2018 at 7:15 PM ^
Yep. Not much doubt left that this is it for him. The fact that he made that announcement should tell us everything we need to know regarding his future.
November 27th, 2018 at 10:44 PM ^
What "announcement?" He was asked a question.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:02 PM ^
Bush should enter the draft. If he’s a projected top 10 pick he won’t raise his stock any higher and risks another season of wear and tear. Go get that money.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:06 PM ^
But first things first for Devin: he wants to go out with a Bowl Game victory. Here's to hoping he attains this goal and stays healthy in the process!
November 27th, 2018 at 7:07 PM ^
I agree. But only if his hip is good to go. Finish what you started.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:06 PM ^
Translation: I will get "injured" minutes before kickoff and not play.
The team will puss out and lose.
A player will go on Twitter claiming the 2018 team is the best team ever like DJ Khalid Hill did about the 2016 team.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:08 PM ^
Your comment is pathetic
November 27th, 2018 at 7:19 PM ^
Well, I mean, John Navarre is his hero so...
November 27th, 2018 at 8:29 PM ^
Yeah bash the fucking QB that helped win us the last outright Big Ten Title.
Good Lord, celebrate a shithole 10-3 season with no hardware.
November 27th, 2018 at 9:49 PM ^
I don't mind if a kid headed to the draft sits out, particularly if it is fine with their teammates. This isn't about us.
November 28th, 2018 at 9:36 AM ^
Hi, Braylon! A belated welcome to mgoblog!
November 27th, 2018 at 7:49 PM ^
He's actually the kind of asshole who was trashtalking Navarre throughout his UM career.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:49 PM ^
Would your life be a lot better if 2016 UM beat FSU?
November 27th, 2018 at 7:54 PM ^
A little bit, yeah.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:53 PM ^
You're a loser
November 27th, 2018 at 8:00 PM ^
COMMENT DOESN'T COUNT UNLESS IN ALL CAPS.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:39 PM ^
Why do people think money isn’t everything ? Sometimes people just value playing at Michigan. I would take playing at Uofm over the money.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:45 PM ^
As a multi millionaire recording artist and social icon, I can see why you’d feel that way. However, would you sell your mix tapes for minimal compensation on the street corner with your homies if you could sign a record deal worth millions of dollars?
November 27th, 2018 at 9:21 PM ^
You're talking to a guy who got released form a mental health facility then went to get an ice cream come with lightning bolts tattooed on his face.
November 27th, 2018 at 8:10 PM ^
Huh? Would you care to edit?
November 28th, 2018 at 11:01 AM ^
I guess I think of it this way: If I had one class left at UM that I didn't need to take; that was decently hard, and might just damage my chances at a future job I want if I take it and don't do well, would I take it?
No.
I'd graduate, take the job, and move on.
Now, here there is the added teammate situation, and I get that. But if these other kids are okay with it, and they may well be, then he should stay out.
November 27th, 2018 at 9:10 PM ^
He's not projected at top 10. Very few off the ball LB are picked at top 10. He's likely at top of 2nd round but end of 1st round could be possible
November 27th, 2018 at 7:08 PM ^
Honestly, he probably shouldn't. Would hate to see him get injured when he's on the precipice of being a first round draft pick.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:40 PM ^
Shut your face!
November 27th, 2018 at 8:30 PM ^
Dios Mio eres realmente un Culero.... no seas tan puto
El debe hacer su compromiso... El es un lider del equipo.... En Michigan personas cuidan para el equipo... es mas importante que un persona
November 27th, 2018 at 9:37 PM ^
Baxter, you know i dont speak Spanish
November 27th, 2018 at 7:16 PM ^
Yessssss! Kick some Ute/Huskie ass!
November 27th, 2018 at 7:49 PM ^
Doubtful. Unless Texas beats Oklahoma we won’t be in the Rose Bowl.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:16 PM ^
I hope they win the bowl. UM historically doesn't show well in bowls. 11 wins would be good.
November 27th, 2018 at 7:27 PM ^
This kid dominated at LB for Michigan.
Probably the quickest, hardest hitting LB at Michigan sideline to sideline since Ron Simpkins.
