Brandon: Nothing until 'back half' of next week
Just thought this little Associated Press brief was interesting. Commence reading between the lines ...
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon plans to talk to coach Rich Rodriguez about his future soon after both are back on campus.
Brandon says he probably won’t have more to say until the back half of next week.
... now!

I tried to find something snarky to say, but that seems to indicate exactly what you're implying it indicates.

over 60 cent Boneless wings on Thursday @ BW3 with DB?
January 1st, 2011 at 8:37 PM ^
Isn't it 50 cent boneless wings?
January 1st, 2011 at 8:52 PM ^
Not anymore, it's not.

thats what I thought too
January 1st, 2011 at 8:54 PM ^
I think it used to be, but the bastards have nickel and dimed it up at most locations.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^
So how much are regular wings now, 50¢? I remember when they were 25¢ some seven years ago when BW3 came to Muskegon.
January 1st, 2011 at 9:01 PM ^
I can't say I'm surprised that a company based out of Columbus is trying to rip people off more and more over time.
January 1st, 2011 at 11:04 PM ^
That still didn't beat the Station Grill's 15¢ Wednesdays. Of course, they stopped doing that too.
January 1st, 2011 at 9:05 PM ^
Dimed, in this case.

ED: joeyb beat me to the joke. Well played, sir.

DB can pick up the check (but I bet he just puts it on an expense report).

back half.
/desperate attempt to grab comedy out of bowl season tragedy

As long as it contains the words..."We appreciate what Rich Rodriguez has done here at the University of Michigan, but we feel we have to move in a different direction."

half a week to fire GERG.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:36 PM ^
If that was all that is about to come down.
January 1st, 2011 at 10:03 PM ^
it shouldn't.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:27 PM ^
But I am certain that JH will be announced by that time.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
Why? Explain
January 1st, 2011 at 8:33 PM ^
How can you or any other anonymous mgoblog poster with a chuck norris avatar be certain of that at this point?

don't think he actually knows how to be wrong
January 1st, 2011 at 9:59 PM ^
It just came out more right than before.
January 1st, 2011 at 11:46 PM ^
The only time Chuck Norris was wrong was when he thought he was wrong, but he was right.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:59 PM ^
Chuck Norris doesn't wait for the end of next week. The end of next week would knock over the beginning of the week to meet Chuck now.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:28 PM ^
"we need to wait for the Orange Bowl to conclude and allow for a couple of days after that to finalize our future plans"
January 1st, 2011 at 8:28 PM ^
... makes sense. Get's back Monday. Make sure Plan B is locked and loaded by Tuesday. Talk to Coach on Wednesday. Announce Thursday.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:29 PM ^
I really would like RR to get a 4th year but all signs are pointing to Harbaugh next year. Otherwise this situation was handled quite poorly by a man who I assume is very intelligent.
January 1st, 2011 at 9:03 PM ^
Thanks for posting this. Besides the Dallas news on such a depressing day, the best thing I heard is Denard is our best recruiter. "Let me have em coach, I will get him to commit."
January 1st, 2011 at 11:08 PM ^
I feel so bad for him. He just seems so sad :(
January 1st, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
don't we wait until the spring game so we can see the progress from the bowl game until then. We have waited this long after all.
January 1st, 2011 at 10:15 PM ^
I think waiting for the spring game to possibly make a move is an awful idea. If you wait til then, keep Rod. Simple as that.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
I did not see him on the field. May be he was up in one of the private boxes? Did Mary Sue go down to the game?
January 1st, 2011 at 9:12 PM ^
They showed the Mississippi State AD for a few seconds but I didn't see Brandon.
January 1st, 2011 at 10:25 PM ^
Mabye Dave Brandon couldn't make up his mind if he wanted to go to the Gator Bowl or not.

If those photos are incriminating enough can your friend get us some really good seats for next year?
January 1st, 2011 at 8:30 PM ^
Well the "evaluation period" ended at about 5:00pm this afternoon. Now the only thing we have to wait on is the completion of JH's bowl game and his announcement as our new HC.
Unfortunately Rich made this way too easy for DB.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:47 PM ^
I worry it won't be that simple.
a) We got the NFL and their money to consider.
b) Harbaugh's golden toilet is a factor.
c) I have this irrational fear that the Pimp Hand has him some strange affection for Brady Hoke (I pray this is not true).
Anyway, after today I am hoping this plays out smoothly. Rich Rodriguez is a good man and he has my eternal respect for what he did for the Mealer family regardless of our limited success on the field.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:31 PM ^
Despite all the squealing that will come out of some of the "fans" and the media, Brandon is gonna do this on his timeline. Respect the pimp hand.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:42 PM ^
makes me question more than the timeline.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:49 PM ^
DB absolutely has to know that starting a coaching search today would simply end in failure. He absolutely has to have spoken some coaches already
January 1st, 2011 at 8:31 PM ^
He's probably just waiting until Lloyd Brady gets back on campus for his classes to discuss RR's future with Michigan's #1 fan.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:31 PM ^
I want JH too, but he has to know coming in that Andrew Luck and Toby Gerhart are not sitting in Schembechler Hall. He'll have a big mess to clean up.
January 1st, 2011 at 8:36 PM ^
He doesnt have a mess on the offensive side of the ball. He has Denard and Devin at QB plus he has Shaw, Smith, Toussaint, Hayes, and maybe Hart at running back. The defense just needs new leadership thats all.
