WTF??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No

Just when Wilson was showing out... Smfh.

Just when Wilson was showing out... Smfh.
Edit: Double post for double disappointment.
October 8th, 2021 at 6:06 PM ^
Bummer. Seems to conflict with other reports that he was definitely playing. But hopefully, other guys like Sainristil and Henning will step to fill the void.
October 8th, 2021 at 6:09 PM ^
We need a “move the sticks” medium range guy. It was Bell, then after last week it looked like Wilson.
As of now I don’t feel we have a single fully reliable guy who we can count on for say 3rd and medium plays. I honestly don’t know who in this group could be? Maybe Baldwin steps up?
October 8th, 2021 at 6:17 PM ^
nope, not a “single reliable guy.” not one. single. reliable. guy.
sheesh.
October 8th, 2021 at 7:13 PM ^
I like to think of myself as a single, reliable guy.
October 8th, 2021 at 7:49 PM ^
That's why you're single. Girls like assholes. Didn't you pay attention in high school?
October 8th, 2021 at 6:35 PM ^
lol, you really think we have nobody who can catch a 3rd and 8 pass? What’s the difference between that and a 1st and 10 pass?
October 8th, 2021 at 6:40 PM ^
2 yards… you asked
October 8th, 2021 at 6:48 PM ^
I’m not saying we don’t, but we don’t have that safety valve or guy who has shown to really find the first down with a hole in the zone. Bell was that guy. Butt was that guy. Even at times Grant Perry was that guy
October 8th, 2021 at 11:18 PM ^
They haven't used the TEs that much in the passing game this year. Wouldn't be surprised if that changes. Seems it could be especially useful with the success of the running game. Bluff block and go out for a route.
October 8th, 2021 at 8:38 PM ^
As if Wilson has demonstrated a go-to ability enough times to say he is the guy so much more than the next man up.
October 8th, 2021 at 8:40 PM ^
If Wilson doesn’t make the long adjustment catch last week are we even talking about him that much? I mean it’s not like we just lost Jason Avant. Wilson had a career (so far) game, but I still don’t really see possession receiver. I see someone you want to get the ball to in space to exploit his speed.
Btw, who did Cade look to last week during that 2-pt conversion? That was more of a 3rd down type play and he went to who I’d expect - Johnson.
October 8th, 2021 at 10:03 PM ^
Maybe Micheal Barrett can pick up this role. He used to be a QB, so any chance he can play WR?
October 8th, 2021 at 10:25 PM ^
I know you're joking but pretty sure they tried him at WR when he first got here.
October 8th, 2021 at 6:16 PM ^
If it's true that it happened mid-Wisconsin, then I don't have the sky-is-falling reaction that others do. If the premise is true, and he played one of his best games anyway, then the seriousness of the injury feels more minor (than for a typical listing of a player on injury reserve) and may be best explained as resting a key player before the most important games. And though that isn't ideal, it's not exactly a BPONE baseline, either.
Caveats from the above in order: if ... if ... feels ... may be
October 8th, 2021 at 6:29 PM ^
I get the exact opposite feeling. Feels like a major thing, that's why you get the early report about his availability. He wasn't hurt during Wisconsin. Look at the tape, he played the whole game. I believe the practice rumor.
October 8th, 2021 at 10:09 PM ^
Spoken like a true Michigan fan.
You know how I know? Because I had the exact same thought.
October 9th, 2021 at 2:13 PM ^
This could be a smoke screen. Sam Webb indicated just a couple days ago that Wilson's injury came before the Wisconsin game. Can't see how he could have injured it this week.
In other news I was going to suggest that the TEs have been underutilized in the pass game. I don't see how a linebacker can effectively cover either one of them.
October 8th, 2021 at 8:08 PM ^
The next game is “the most important game”! If he was healthy to play, he would’ve played this week. This coaching staff can’t look past any team, especially one that put up 56 points last week.
October 8th, 2021 at 10:11 PM ^
Especially when the next two weeks we have a bye and Northwestern.
October 8th, 2021 at 6:18 PM ^
I heard 3 weeks on some UM insider YouTube video on the facebooks
October 8th, 2021 at 8:01 PM ^
Yep, back for Sparty
October 8th, 2021 at 6:21 PM ^
We're going to be fine. Really.
October 8th, 2021 at 6:22 PM ^
Brandon Brown is terrible. Failing upward, merely because there was nobody else.
That's all.
October 8th, 2021 at 8:12 PM ^
I will concur, he is terrible.
October 8th, 2021 at 10:04 PM ^
Pay no attention, future recruits. You will forget all that you read here.
October 8th, 2021 at 6:26 PM ^
Next man up.
October 8th, 2021 at 6:29 PM ^
For sure, but dang he had a great game against Wisconsin. So who's the next man up?
October 9th, 2021 at 12:30 AM ^
AJ Henning? Andrel Anthony?
October 9th, 2021 at 8:56 AM ^
Anthony gets more time, Henning gets more touches I bet.
October 8th, 2021 at 6:30 PM ^
Just have Henning run a post corner route and Cade lob that thing up
October 8th, 2021 at 6:35 PM ^
Oh good grief.
October 8th, 2021 at 6:39 PM ^
Well, I guess Roman is NOT a gladiator. Why are you letting us down, Roman? ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED???
October 8th, 2021 at 6:39 PM ^
Aw, hamburgers.
October 8th, 2021 at 6:45 PM ^
Sucks that he may be out but before last week not many people thought Wilson to be much more than a role player. We have other talented players that can step in so we should be fine. I do however look forward to the development of Wilson throughout this year and next. Go Blue!
October 8th, 2021 at 6:49 PM ^
We will be fine. Need to get Henning more touches.
October 8th, 2021 at 6:52 PM ^
In future, no matter how similar the player, I shall refrain from thinking 'he's got some Ronnie Bell in him' about any UM receivers having an excellent game. Clearly, there is a curse developing here.
October 8th, 2021 at 7:12 PM ^
Gawdammit, this hurts. Sainristil & Baldwin need to show up big time.
Hopefully the defense will pop Martinez big time to even this crap out.
October 8th, 2021 at 7:18 PM ^
This news is Ass, and we shall overtake it.
October 8th, 2021 at 7:51 PM ^
As long as we overtake it as well.
October 8th, 2021 at 8:30 PM ^
On MGoBlog, the ass overtakes you.
October 8th, 2021 at 7:29 PM ^
Dammit.
Ok, next guy up, but we are running low on guys.
October 8th, 2021 at 9:39 PM ^
Michael Barrett will step up while also fullbacking
October 8th, 2021 at 7:44 PM ^
He had one game with some catches. Stop overreacting
October 8th, 2021 at 7:49 PM ^
Welp, Daylen Baldwin came here for a reason, and it wasn't just to catch garbage time long TD bombs from JJ. Time to make some big plays when the game is close.
And Andrel Anthony, stay loose.
Onward and upward.
October 8th, 2021 at 7:59 PM ^
Sam Webb program mouthpiece strikes again
October 9th, 2021 at 12:35 AM ^
What does that mean?
