Bummer.  Seems to conflict with other reports that he was definitely playing.  But hopefully, other guys like Sainristil and Henning will step to fill the void.

We need a “move the sticks” medium range guy. It was Bell, then after last week it looked like Wilson.

As of now I don’t feel we have a single fully reliable guy who we can count on for say 3rd and medium plays. I honestly don’t know who in this group could be? Maybe Baldwin steps up?

If Wilson doesn’t make the long adjustment catch last week are we even talking about him that much? I mean it’s not like we just lost Jason Avant. Wilson had a career (so far) game, but I still don’t really see possession receiver. I see someone you want to get the ball to in space to exploit his speed.

Btw, who did Cade look to last week during that 2-pt conversion? That was more of a 3rd down type play and he went to who I’d expect - Johnson.

If it's true that it happened mid-Wisconsin, then I don't have the sky-is-falling reaction that others do. If the premise is true, and he played one of his best games anyway, then the seriousness of the injury feels more minor (than for a typical listing of a player on injury reserve) and may be best explained as resting a key player before the most important games. And though that isn't ideal, it's not exactly a BPONE baseline, either.

Caveats from the above in order: if ... if ... feels ... may be

This could be a smoke screen. Sam Webb indicated just a couple days ago that Wilson's injury came before the Wisconsin game. Can't see how he could have injured it this week.

In other news I was going to suggest that the TEs have been underutilized in the pass game. I don't see how a linebacker can effectively cover either one of them.

Sucks that he may be out but before last week not many people thought Wilson to be much more than a role player. We have other talented players that can step in so we should be fine. I do however look forward to the development of Wilson throughout this year and next. Go Blue!

In future, no matter how similar the player, I shall refrain from thinking 'he's got some Ronnie Bell in him' about any UM receivers having an excellent game. Clearly, there is a curse developing here.

Welp, Daylen Baldwin came here for a reason, and it wasn't just to catch garbage time long TD bombs from JJ. Time to make some big plays when the game is close.

And Andrel Anthony, stay loose.

Onward and upward.
